I don; t know what all the -ve reviews are on about. I have used inbox.com for well over 12 years as my primary e-mail service, both the original free and later paid service. I have never had a problem with it. When I have needed questions answered their customer service has always been prompt and helpful in their replies. My one concern is they are no longer accepting new registrations (I tried to recommend them to a friend). It would be a real shame if they packed it in.
Very prompt personable the way a business should be with each and every customer, not just treat them as a number, (in reference to how many customers they can consume) chime does not do that they're very personable and prompt thank you very much I would recommend this website and this cash experience to any and everyone and believe me I tried many
I used Inbox for many years. It was fine when it was free, then it went to hell when they started charging a yearly fee to use it. Several unexplained outages, surprise account suspensions, and the best part... you can't call them to ask what's going on! You get to open a "ticket" with them. They might respond to you via email in a few days... it's hit or miss. You're basically at their mercy until your PAID service comes back up. Sometimes it's a few days, sometimes it's a week or more. Do yourself a favor and just get Gmail or another free email service. Inbox is hot garbage that will drive you nuts.
The site has gone down for hours several times and all they do is apologize. I just stayed with them because it's a hassle to change your email, but I'm leaving now. It just went down again today (9/21/2020) for hours. I couldn't access zoom conference links emailed to me. I lost clients. I lost money. I lost contracts. Just because inbox.com is incompetent. I should have left them the first time this happened. They are worthless and the world would be a better place if Inbox had never existed.
Dear Sirs, I regret to inform you that I am forced to give up your e-mail services. After being your customer for 12 years, I have received an email from you informing me of a disproportionate increase in prices and the removal of various services, such as Calendar, Storage, Photos and Notes. For me, this is a brutal worsening of the conditions offered so far, it is unacceptable and difficult to understand, so I warn you that I will not renew my subscription. Best regards.
I am writing this review to rate the response time and helpful feedback received from the Inbox staff. I had a problem with verification required to complete the verification field in order to recieve the reward I had earned. In notifying the Inbox staff and telling them I no longer use a cell phone which was the only acceptable verification available, they responded quickly and confirmed I would be receiving my reward. I am very certain in believing in the future that this problem may be completely resolved and other means of verification will be available.
I used their service for upto 2 years, they then suspended my account saying that there was suspicious activity as if pointing the finger at me.
I messaged them at least 3-4 times and could not get any sense out of them or my account reset.
Since then a number of my old accoiunts that used this emailhave become locked.
It seems that they lure you in only to steal information and accounts in order to commit fraud. If this wasnt the case they would be much more responsive wouldn't they?
Inbox.com locked my account and I contacted them and they said I broke TOS, and didn't listen to my reply and stopped communication.
Do not use Inbox.com ever. Use a legit company like Gmail, Hotmail, icloud so they won't scam you.
It used to be an excellent service. This company used to be focused on internet services like mail, web serching engine, wallpapers, games etc. A lot of changes happened in this company, few important people left the company including CTO and company is not focused on internet services any more. Inbox.com is a kind of orphan, it is still alive, but nobody really cares about. I think that they cancelled free service just to force current users to leave volunteerly. All other free services like wallpapers, games has been cancelled many years ago, they keep inbox.com alive just because it still makes some money.
I have had inbox.com for over 6 years now. They are great. No problems at all. To all the whiners, just pay or go somewhere else. This generation of people want everything for free. But good things cost money. Good service.
Used to be good 3 years ago. But now they charge $35/yr USD. Only accept PayPal for subscription. Takes few days to activate your account which means no email access till PayPal releases funds. They have no payment gateway of their own.
Very dissatisfied and disappointed
I have used inbox.com for 10 years or so. Initially it was free with ads attached to emails. About a year ago they decided to discontinue free service - which is bad enough for a personal account. They charged $8/year for basic account. Acceptable, but I would prefer to persuaded in other ways than brute force to pay for the account (increased level of security, regular backups etc.). The truth is the web app hasn't changed for the last 10 years, so the service, functionally, looked really outdated. But then, this year, a business genius at inbox.com decided that $8 is not enough, and they raise it, well, more than... 600% ($60/year). Nothing in between. Which totally ruined their credibility - if you trust them - you will have to pay $200 next year. Why not?
Obviously they do not care about those who have email accounts with them. 2 months now I have been trying to reach them about my locked account. They do not even answer the phone number anymore, you just get a recording stating they will call you back. Don't wait by the phone for that return call either, it won't come. Very unprofessional for a company by any reasonable standards. We have moved to Hotmail now. Hopefully, they will prove to be more professional. And, for Inbox.com... time to scrutinize those who run your company. Customer service is important to any business. In that regard - at this point, you fail miserably!
I HAD THE EXACT SAME THING AS THIS GENTLEMAN! DO NOT USE THIS SERVICE... ABSOLUTELY TERRIBLE!
Inbox.com will not cancel their service and give me back my money
September 6th, 2018
I used inbox when only $9/yr. Then last year it went to near $40. I didn't have time to find another site, so I bit the bullet. I then found gmail.com for free. I told them to cancel my account but they billed me $40 again with paypal. I've asked them to cancel my account and to get a refund several times. They keep refusing. Would not recommend this site to anyone, for any reason
My partner, my parents and myself have been with Inbox for several years. During that time we've had a fairly reliable service, although there have been occasions where it's been inaccessible, some emails have gone AWOL and we've always received a lot of spam. But changing your email is address is a real pain, isn't it? So we stayed with them. And then last year Inbox started charging for the service, but it was only £8 or so, so we stayed with them. BUT it's just increased to £40. Jesus! There's no way we were going to pay that for each account, so we've gone through the hell of informing banks etc of our new emails - we've gone to Gmail, which we should have done a long time ago. I'd strongly advise you to stay well away from Inbox.com.
Used to be clean, simple fast. Now it is a total mess after they 'updated' their site. And they are upping their annual fee to $70. To boot.
Don't waste your time.
I have been an Inbox customer for many years, using it for my genealogy research. Last year they started charging $8.88, which I was not happy about, but I understood. Now I get a renewal notice for $40! I am just sick because I can not see paying $40, not knowing what it will increase to next year. So now I will lose my information as I can not figure out how to transfer my emails. I am livid at how they treat customers and we have no choice.

MY Inbox email was hacked and they changed the password. I am unable to get into my account regardless of trying the security questions.
My Paypal was also hacked due to them finding my info in my Inbox email.
I sent them a "ticket" for help 1 week ago and still have not heard back from Inbox.
There is zero customer service-avoid like the plaque!
Inbox is a fine email service when everything is going ok but if something goes wrong like your privacy being hacked you wont receive any help from Inbox.com.
I think inbox.com is cashing in on all the suckers, including me. Their site's down now, and I rather think it'll never return. They bought their island, and everybody who trusted them and paid good money (from $8.88/yr to $40.00/yr in one hit) is now screwed. They implemented the new charge Sept. 2017, and now it's one year later, and time to shut it down. Then the criminals get to keep all the data they stored for whatever nefarious purposes they have. I can't believe how dumb I was to use them for almost 10 years. What a shame. What a scam.

Answer: I have had inbox for about 10 years and loved it. Charging for email is BS... most companies DO NOT CHARGE for email accounts. I recommend switching. I have switched to GMX and am happy with them also.
