I sent IL Makiage an e-mail telling them to cancel my subscription. They canceled one month. Today, I noticed three additional charges from IL Makiage. They refuse to help, so I reported them to BBB.

Scam!

I tried their 14 day free trial. I was told I would only have to pay shipping which came to $10 Canadian. When I checked my bank account I saw they also took $115. I did not authorize that charge. When I contacted them they told me that this is a "pre authorization" and will "drop off" in 2-4 days. Lies! My bank confirmed the funds were indeed taken from my account. I've contacted Il Makiage multiple times and they keep telling me the same excuse. When my package arrived I immediately began the process to return the products. They refunded me the SHIPPING but still kept the $115. I'm still fighting with them to get this back. These people are committing fraud.

Happy with everything I've tried so far

Decided to test this out due to the ability to try before you buy & have not been disappointed yet. The coverage on the coverup is perfect for blending/building which as a freckled person is crucial for covering imperfections while still looking natural. As we moved into summer, I was easily able to change the color to one shade darker and anticipate an equally easy switch back for the winter. Honestly, most days I use a combo of the tints depending on where on my face I need it & feel that I've gotten a good value for what I paid. I have also received a number of free items for being on subscription now & was impressed with the quality of the brush & eyeliner that I've gotten. I am also now using one of their serums and although I don't notice a dramatic improvement, I do think my skin has been calmer & more even since I started it.

Awful!

This company is a nightmare to cancel the products. They set it up on a subscription and it has been nothing but a fight to keep them from debiting my account. I have canceled with them by email because of course there is no customer service number. The foundation is way too think and yellow. The concealer was good, but, I'll never order from them again due to this scam of a subscription they sneak in. I definitely do not recommend this company! This has been ongoing since February 2022! My bank has suggested I cancel my bank card, which I can do, but, it is so inconvenient for me because of so many online account being tied to it. It's not fair that I have to change my card to keep this company from committing fraudulent charges.

You absolutely don’t need to sign up for auto-replenishment when ordering and that is not something we can add for you. To place a one time only purchase, just don’t select the auto-replenishment option in checkout.

In the auto-replenishment section, you’ll find options to edit your delivery date, skip your next order, pause, or cancel. Unethical practices

I signed up for the trial purchase, wherein I would only be charged $5.00 for shipping and then pay the full price if I like it, otherwise return it. IMMEDIATELY my account was charged the full price. I contacted them WITHIN MINUTES. I was told, sorry, too late to cancel "because it was already being processed at the warehouse", IN MINUTES. They tried saying they didn't charge me yet, that it was on "hold", yeah, okay, my bank said otherwise when I contacted my bank and they are handling it from their end, hopefully I get my money back because I cancelled within minutes of ordering. They had the nerve to send me an email with a code for a $50 coupon for the inconvenience, not ever using that. The worst customer service and outright lies, the promotion is not real.

BEWARE you're not just paying for shipping as soon as you click purchase you are paying for the product at the same time!

I tried the foundation wasn't impressed I sent back 6-7 days later (after I first actually tried it) I decided it wasn't worth the price tag and it's a try before you buy so I wasn't loosing much right?! WRONG! I sent it back before the 14 days and was still charged full price. Not a "temporary hold" but charged full price for a product I had already sent back before the 14days! They have no number and never heard back from customer service regarding the charge.

Once you sign up you will NEVER LEAVE. It is literally impossible to quit. There deceptive and tricky website will have you jumping thru hoops to find the hidden buttons to try to stop, but on the last page NOTHING. As shown, no mater how many times you fill out the page shown - you can't get past it. Been trying to 6 months now!

Your card will be charged and you can't remove it without entering a new card.

Order will come and despite it saying you can return them you can't. That's why ebay and Posh and everywhere you see these product for sale by folks who don't want them.
This is the most deceptive company I have ever shopped at and I am 65 years old!

Don't waste your money

This makeup does not cover as advertised and I don't know what makeup they used for their ads, but it's not what I bought. Also beware of their ripoff 14 day free trial because they will not only charge you for the shipping cost but
Will charge your card for the free trial bottle. They don't respond to emails or complaints except with a generic email that you have to complain elsewhere. This is a scam so don't fall for they're BS!

Good Stuff

I've purchased several times from Il Makiage. They are right up front about their policy of try before you buy. Meaning I pay $5 for the shipping, and if I don't like it, I can email them, or call, and get a return label so I can send the product back. There's nothing deceptive with them, it's not hidden in any small print, it's right there, up front and honest. And most of their products I have really liked. The only one I didn't care for was the foundation, but I don't like anyone's foundation! Concealer is great, blush, eye shadow, mascara, highlighter and lip treatment, all have been top notch beauty products! I love the company, I really do!

Not a convert

The order process was good, and the shade that was matched to my skin was actually very good but that's where the positive review ends. The makeup itself is not great coverage and certainly doesn't last all day. It becomes patchy and cakey, sits in the grooves of my nose and smile lines and actually makes my pores look noticeable, with or without primer. I have been an Estee devotee for a long time, and will definitely be returning to it. Estee is a quality produce that never fails, and is actually cheaper than this. Sorry to say I was suckered in by the online advertising which looked great.

Not for mature skin

Id been contemplating trying this product for a long time before finally taking the plunge. Purchasing was easy and delivery was fairly quick.

The colour match wasnt as good as I hoped but was a colour I could live with in the colder months. However, what let this product down was the fact despite prepping my skin with my skincare products and a primer the foundation sat in my pores and fine lines and was very aging. It also didnt stay on very long.

I recently tried Il Makiage, when I saw the ads popping up on facebook. I wear sunless tanner, and picked out a foundation shade based on that. When I got the foundation it wasn't quite the right shade, and the company was really helpful, at first. They did exchange and help me get the shade I needed, like they advertise.

However, when I was low, I went ahead and reordered. I forgot that the shade I originally ordered wasn't quite right and asked if I could do an exchange. They told me no, since I had an e-code and got like $10-12 off. I would be willing to exchange the makeup and pay for a return, but the company seems adamant that I can't get the color fixed.

I will not be continuing to shop with Il Makiage. Sadly, not all of their customer service is helpful.

Fraud

Always charges your credit card extra. Bought 50$ and i was charged 2 transactions afterwards for 68$. Had to change my credit cards.

I have used their products in the past and truly liked them. This time when I placed my order it was supposed to be sent out on July 2, it is now July 24th and I still have not received it. I have reached out numerous times only to get the run around with no definite answer. The last one was it was still in transit where it has been sitting for a couple weeks. The gentleman Jordan has been very short and unprofessional regarding this matter. They don't want to be accountable for their mistakes. This was my second order and my last.

I tried to cancel after my firsts order in early March of 2022. The person in the email exchange called me "love" which seemed intrusive and explained that they are a startup company and don't have their stuff together. Maybe a reason but hardly an excuse. Got 2nd order, however, last week. The Reply function in their email announcing order will be arriving doesn't work. The link for returns doesn't work. Finally, the "After Party" product looks like what you'd see on a corpse at a funeral home. They've got some product called "F**k I'm Flawless" but they certainly are not.
