People in India beware buying anything from iherb.com. This online site in India specifically making people mad here. Look at the price which is so attractive however, once you buy they add additional charges by their DHL partner which is more than the product price. Also, they don't disclose the additional expenses imposed by DHL partner anywhere during your shopping with them nor by DHL partner. They only ask money once they deliver the product. I tell you why...

They reach you home and ask for custom duty charges which if you see the amount you may faint after seeing the amount to be paid. AND IF YOU REFUSE to accept the product what they say see it "your additional taxes amount more than the product price hence you will have either to accept the product and pay the DHL Partner whatever they ask you to pay or we will dispose your shipment.

There is no control over these kind of businesses in India by the Government. I am in touch with the legal Adviser so that this site should be banned of doing there businesses here and will strongly get them banned in India.

I would not recommend in my country people should buy anything before having any confirmation of the final price of the product to be paid for the shipment and later on they kind of robbed and spoil there money on these stupid online sites which have a moto not other than naking fool of others...

I ordered from iherb on a Friday morning and my goods were ready to deliver on Saturday morning. Great I hear you say until I get a text from DHL saying I had to pay £17 customs charges to have it released. Hang on tho I bought it from a site that was in British pounds and I already paid £3.99 delivery charges ( that was the price for delivery quoted) but now I find out its been shipped from USA (which I find hard to believe that quickly) but nevertheless I then email them to see what the hell is going on and am advised to pay the charges and shut up as if I refuse to the package will go back and I will incur return charges and they will amount to the whole amount Id paid in the first place. So basically I had no choice but to pay the charge and receive the package of or I would be £ 55 out of pocket with no supplement. This is utterly disgraceful, unashamedly, guiltless selling of the worst kind. It should not be allowed someone needs to put a stop to this before more people are scammed out of their money for things that most people need to try and live a healthier lifestyle or help a health problem that they are trying to live with. Angry just doesnt describe it

I ordered a 25ppm silver cream and received a 20ppm by a different manufacture. I was refused a refund after weeks of dealing with them. They are not a trustworthy consumer friendly company.

Appalling experience

NEVER USE THESE GUYS EVER!
No customer service telephone number; took 2 days to respond to emails: ordered on a Monday urgent delivery (tooth infections) email on Wednesday asking for bank verification to nominal amount of money which was never sent; email 4 days later on the Friday to tell me stock was too low to fulfil the order. Had chosen 2 day (quickest) delivery. Only learnt out of stock 2 days after delivery should have already been with me
Concequence, I am now leaving to go on holiday on the weekend with 1 tablet left before extream dental pain returns, no opportunity or time to now order elsewhere; had they had a customer telephone number to call, I could have called them Wednesday morning, known they couldn't fulfil my order (2 days after making the order) and order elsewhere
Disgusting lack of telephone line, response times, management of orders, complete lack of efficiency in bank verification AUFUL EXPERIENCE in every way

Indian customers please never never order from this company. I ordered 2 creams from this website and paid 3500 Rs with delivery. I paid for this with my credit card and next day i got call and emails from DHL to upload some documents for the custom clearance. After spending ridiculous amount of time preparing this documents and wasting a lot of my time i uploaded them and waited for my product. When the product came to me, to my surprise there was a extra amount of 2500 Rs for custom duty which was never mentioned while placing the order on their website. When i call the DHL agent and told them that it was never mentioned on the website about the extra cost while ordering, he started arguing with me that its my fault not to find all the details. He started arguing that custom duty is always extra and they dont know about the exact amount while the order is placed. But since i have a import export business i know that custom duty can only be 30% of the product cost and not more than that and that means there is really a fraud involved in this. Here they are charging me almost 75% of the product cost which is a big scam and fraud. After reading all the reviews on this website i am convinced this company is nothing but a fraud and I dont know why reputed courier company like DHL is also involved in this fraud and making their image terrible. Please dont order from this company.

Incompetent and Unprofessional.

I ordered a package on April 15th, 2022 that was initially expected to arrive later than my plans for traveling the country, which was the 30th of April for four months. So, I opted for the more expensive, and incompetent option, which is DHL express which was expected to arrive from the 20-28th of April in the warehouse of my city. My package has been on hold since the 18th of April, without getting any updates on it. So, after many trials of calling DHL, they told me they are unable to locate it, and I said that even if it reached I wouldn't be able to collect it as I will be outside of the country. I ordered these supplements for my dad that lives abroad, and they did not arrive on time. I then requested a refund on my initial order, which was later declined. I have been trying to contact customer service for over two weeks now, but all their replies are useless, and I could not call them. They said they will respond in 48 hours, and its been over a week. Overall, I am very dissatisfied with their service and would not recommend anyone to buy from them.

I wound not let my cat go on their website they said it was a government taxes when delivering and if I don't paid the tax it will be sent back to the company with no refund so no I will have to pay and when I require with today this what they sent me

Unfortunately, iHerb.com does not have a way to provide specific duties and fee amounts. It is determined by Customs and the courier is simply the collector.

If you choose not to pay the fees incurred by Customs, the package will be rerouted back to iHerb.com and once the package is received, we will refund the order. The refund will be minus the shipping and the return costs which is normally 80% of the order total. The reason the return shipping costs are so high is because of the return freight not being discounted, warehouse and storage fees. They stole my money!

Why was my account closed? Was it my complaint that my order came damaged and useless. Even after I sent photos the the broken glass bottle the wet shipping box container. All I wanted was my Magnesium Chloride. They gave me a refund. I went back to reorder the Magnesium Chloride and was told that my account had been terminated. Why because my shipment came destroyed and I complained. I am battling cancer and need that Magnesium Chloride to self administer a vitamin C IV. After contacting the customer "Chat" service. I was told to contact customer support. Customer support told me to contact customer service. Are you getting the picture. I explained my situation to the "Chat" agent. All I got was "I will follow up and place an email to the proper department. This has been going on now for 3 months. I told the "Chat" agent. That I felt soooo much better now. I also told her that I wanted each and everyone at that company to find themselves in the exact same situation I found my self in. Only to find no help no customer service no customer support and NO MAGNESIUM CHLORIDE. JUST GO AWAY AND DIE!

Come on guys it is obvious the site is from the USA, if you order from Europe, EU, India or most other countries not part of the USA you will be forced to pay import fees and duties before DHL will deliver, it even says this before you click proceed to order, so don't leave 1 star because you can't be asked to read the fine print before you place an order on a website from a different country. All in all I got my order quick as they said, I paid my import duties and all is well at least DHL lets you pay at the door, if it was normal post you would be fighting it up at the local government office to pay your invoice before delivery.

Read the print before you order and don't blame the company because you can't read terms of service on shipping.

To the Gal who doesn't understand DHL process on imports and gave yet another 1 star review simply because they don't understand customs and duty procedure, DHL is in charge of import fees and this is why they will not release your package until you pay the duties and taxes, you do not handle this. Please learn the law and customs process and call DHL first not iherb, so many uninformed people on import process. I just got my package today was charged 6 Euro from DHL for duties which I paid at the door no import process for the customer easy. Thanks iherb and no thanks to the hundreds of useless 1 star reviews on this post.

Iherb customer service lied to me

I had this dialog with Rhosalie in customer support. A week later I didn't get the credit I was promised. I contacted customer support and was told to basically go away. So, I am committed to logging bad reviews on 20 review sites.

Me: Hi Rhosalie. I'm looking at this: http://www.iherb.com/product-reviews/Now-Foods-5-HTP-100-mg-60-Vcaps/*******/
The price shows as $7.64. When I add it to my cart it shows $12.73.
Rhosalie: I do apologize for that. Let me pull out your account. Just give me a moment.
Me: Sure.

Rhosalie: Regarding your concern we will manually adjust the sale price to your account.
Me: Thank you. What do I need to do?

Rhosalie: It will automatically appear on your account.

Me: Ok. Thank you.

Rhosalie: You are very much welcome. Have a great day ahead!
Me: I'm logged in. I'm about to place my order. I still has the higher price. Is that correct?
Rhosalie: Yes. I have already raised this concern to our senior agents. And the adjustment will reflected within 2 business days.

I don't understand why all of you guys gave these bad reviews. Ok, maybe you did not understand that they are shipping from the US, but if you look on the website it is written in the "About Us" section: "Consider iHerb your own California-based natural products store!". So, it's clear that maybe you should pay some fees if you order from Europe or in any case from outside the US.
I have ordered from Zurich, Switzerland and I have the possibility to order with DPD-All InclusiveCH (I've just paid something like 6 euro shipping fee and DPD took charge of everything and I did not have to pay any additional money). The order arrived before the expected date.
I have seen all the bad reviews after I made the order and I expected the worst, but it was a fortunate event because otherwise, I would not make the order, but in the end, everything was more than fine.
So, I have to say that I am really happy with the service, I bought products that I can not find easily in Europe at a lower price that you can find online (for example on Amazon they are much more expensive).
I will definitely buy again from iHerb.

Buyer Beware

Buyer BEWARE.My order arrived both quite late and was incomplete, i. E. ordered items were missing. Though their customer service answers complaints quickly, they fail to actually refund you your monies owed. Instead, I got the strong impression that they just stall you for time and also provide conflicting advice.In particular, they initially ask you to cancel any PayPal dispute and state that they only make a refund once this is done. Then they do not refund you. And then they tell you to open a PayPal dispute if need be. PayPal does not allow enabling disputes that have already been closed, so you are left without recourse there. I escalated this matter to American Express, which is the card I used for payment, and they did refund me my monies. Nonetheless, I DO NOT recommend DOing BUSINESS WITH iHerb and also NEVER SHUT-DOWN your PAYPAL DISPUTE until you have received your monies. Copies of related correspondence proving the latter points are available, and in light of the many negative reviews one can find online I strongly caution anyone to avoid this supplier.

In reality, 1 star is 1 star to high. Zero stars would be most accurate.

After declining my Credit Ca is 1rd Purchase, the (only reachable via e-mail) customer service agent offered the following non-helpful & quite frankly insulting (to any intelligent & responsible adult) "tips":
The card data is entered accurately.
• The card is activated or has not expired.
• The card is approved for online purchases.
• The card is approved for international purchases.
• If using a VISA gift card, order using the same name the card is registered under.
• If the gift card was not registered under either the purchaser or the recipient, please enter UNEMBOSSED NAME in the name field.
• The card has not exceeded the daily withdrawal or purchase limit.

I will add further,
1. My card is fine. I use it to make frequent purchases Internationally in fact & did so again immediately following iHerb declining it.
2. No idea what 3DS or whatever is & have NEVER been asked or required to "enable" anything like it, nor should I have to.
3. Of course, this could likely have been resolved had a Customer Agent actually been made available to deal with what seems (by reading the trending for customer service on this company), a common problem...

Never again!

International customers beware. I ordered $42 worth of products to Finland with DHL express shipping. Shipping was only $8 which seemed like a good deal. Boy was I wrong. I received an sms from DHL that I need to pay duty and VAT on my order AND a 25 Euro service fee to DHL! I can live with the duties and taxes, sometimes they happen when you shop outside the EU. But a 25 euro service fee to DHL is just plain outrageous. I searched the internet and it seems that DHL hands over all iHerb packages to the customs at least here in Finland. It is very suspicious since usually only a fraction of express packages from the US or elsewhere are caught in the customs. It seems that iHerb and DHL are running a scam where iHerb lists a low shipping cost on their website but then DHL makes their money with a ridiculous service fee. IHerb prices aren't that low to begin with but they have some product lines that I like. Now with all these extra fees I paid 2-3 times what I would pay for similar products here in Finland. Needless to say I'm very disappointed with both iHerb and DHL and try to avoid both in the future at all costs.

Definitely ordering again
November 14, 2015

Anybody looking to order from Saudi Arabia, listen up! If you're ordering herbs and/or supplements (lots of them), you will need SFDA approval. I went to Saudi Post before placing order and they said I wouldn't need that, but when the shipment arrived in Saudi Arabia, the SFDA emailed me telling me to fill their clearance form and send it to them. The point being - go to the SFDA website and get their personal import clearance form and send it in before placing your order. It'll save you a bunch of time. My shipment was stuck in customs for a week before getting cleared.

Anyhow, DHL service was plenty fast and dirt cheap as well. Paid a mere 30 riyals. IHerb and their prices were great; and no exchange rates was a big plus. Their customer service is just alright though. Packaging could have been better but my stuff arrived in good shape so I'm not too worried about that.

Oh and I didn't have to pay any DHL brokerage/handling fee either. But then, my order was under SAR 375 ($100) so no customs duties/taxes. Worked out real cheap. Just take care of the approval thing and you're all set!

And in case this is your first time ordering, you get $5 (about SAR 19) off your order if you use this code - ZTZ839.
(If you use this code, you get a good discount and I get some reward points :))

UPDATE: 3 years on, and I've placed tens of orders with them :) I've tried different courier options as well. Each went well. Good stuff.
