Why it so hard to prove I am who I am and password still not working
Everything was easy until I had to upload my driver's license on the phone. I was having trouble going between the upload of the front view and getting back to do the back view. I ended up using the computer to complete this step.
I chose the video chat option and the agent was great. It was fast and she stayed on the line until I was able to log onto the IRS site.

I kept hitting a brick wall while trying to secure my ID. Finally, I clicked onto the PLUS sign (with green background) during the process, and that allowed me to take the photo, etc., and move on to finish the process. So, WATCH FOR THE PLUS SIGN!

I need to set up a secure identification that would be acceptable for online documentation purposes. ID.me was easy to use and prove electronically that I am who I say I am. Sure beats going down to a state or federal building just to process a document.
