The process is a bit lengthy and cumbersome. After getting approved by ID.me the IRS site won't let me do what I want to do.
I tried to do it myself but had trouble with my computer or the program freezing up on me and wouldn't let me continue. So, I think it would be a great asset if I would be more computer savvy. As an older adult, I don't know a lot about the new programs and I just got really frustrated and finally went to the Pa Career Center and got help from a very intelligent young man. Without him, I don't think I could have done it.

I was forced to sign in to get to my IRS account. I did the usual 2-factor auth bit, then "surprise" I had to allow a scan of my face to continue. This is outrageous and completely unacceptable.
At first, when started there was a another female that was just making anything up at first I wasn't going to start over taking pictures my surroundings I was dull or the light,but after taking so much photo it wasn't me it was I'm at
I followed all the steps. Then the text codes came through hours later when I was already off the site. Was not told why I could not be verified so have to wait a couple of weeks to get the paperwork done that I needed done as soon as possible. Just not a good service and would give 0 stars if that was an option.
