Technically it went well, but I had a question and they closed the session with zero opportunity for interaction.
That I am expected to have very sophisticated technology setup just to firmly establish my identity and deal with government agencies means that those with even less technology or savviness are surely simply disenfranchised. After I already presented my current passport and another doc., I was forced to endure a long wait and a tedious exercise in demonstrating that I am "real" and the passport is "real". I would rather embrace the very slim odds of an identity impersonator being afoot after first level of verification than endure the long tedious REPETITION assigned by the ugly ID.me process.
It is the best website to use for ssi people you know, I would rate this a 10/10 :)

Takes to long verification codes are way to much to get an agent that u know nothing about. Yet you produce your private n personal info and you don't know where it's going or what else it's used for.
The smarphone video verification felt intrusive and took 5 attempts to work properly. Wouldn't use it again, but the IRS website requires it over other more traditional verification methods.
I was a little frustrated because of how technically challenged I am but I hung in there and figured ID.me out. For years if I struggled with technology and would quit. Just follow the direction they give you!

I've been waiting since August 13th for a check. I have done everything that you have asked. I have filled out everything that you have asand I am still as of September 13th 13th I'm still waiting.
My experience was horrible. I have been out of my own id.me account for 9 months now. I have been attempting to correct the issue with no concrete results. I don't get to speak to a live person, the responses I do get back are useless, and far in-between. I was told I could or should be able to verify myself in person, but there was no option for me to select to do so. The site still wanted me to verify online just to get that information and that was the issue. I could not verify online.
The process was extremely easy to follow and efficient.
