Went though online verification process for new account on 8/30/23 with licenses, SSN, ph #, email and photo but site failed to verify me and suspended my account. Sent over half dozen requests for help to ID.me starting 8/30/23 but received no responses. Since IRS required me to use ID.me, I lost access to my IRS account for over two weeks. Contacted local IRS office and was told that they have no control or way to help and I would have to rely on ID.ME. Found Hq info on google but no phone # or other method to contact ID.me except through the same customer service link used previously. Received email from ID.ME around 9/16/23 stating that my account had been restored. Was then able to re-establish IRS account access. Over two weeks to get customer service with no communications from ID.ME is not customer service and is not acceptable fro handling access to important accounts such as IRS. Feedback through Google indicates numerous complaints about ID.ME and that IRS is canceliing their contract and going with Logon.gov-can't wait! This needs to change now!
It was a very easy and self explanatory, not difficult or long, at all. My only reservation is they ask for your full SS #, when they should only require your last four.
