What a horrible experience with this trash service. They WILL fail to verify your ID and you will more than likely be forced to sit around for 20+ min waiting for an agent to see you. Also, you need to show them things like your health insurance card or SSN card on top of your state license to prove you are who you are, it seems like a blatant scam. If that doesn't work you may be forced to visit a IRS office in person. You are also forced to consent to allowing them to keep your personal biometric data for 36 months and they will give it away to any gov agency that asks for it, with or without a warrant. Every single American should be worried about this company and advocating for their immediate removal from all government services.
This is one of the best interfaces I've used. Hats off to the development team who put it together.

My experience with ID me was easy and smooth to navigate each section of question
Seems like ID.me is the only window to my organization's IRS site. I've already been through the process with pay.gov and login.gov this year. At least with them, I could actually get to my IRS account. Now, after going through the effort of setting up the account, I had to submit biometric data. In the end, I could not actually get to the account itself. It should not be this difficult. Is this part of a Republican plot to besmirch the IRS?
This process led me in circles for 3 or 4 hours before I finally made it through the ordeal and received confirmation that my identity was verified.
I kept getting stuck on the facial recognition part of the process but when I finally figured it out and got past it the rest was simple. The agent was great.
Site can be very picky and does not keep your information on the site when you have to resubmit documents. You have to keep adding all information over and over
I can tell the IRS went to great lengths to implement a process that would protect the public against identity theft and ensure privacy. I believe ID.me does this exceptionally well using the latest technology. My rating reflects some initial difficulty with using the software as I got error messages. But once everything was corrected, it went really smoothly. In fairness, some of the difficulty could be my own technology limitations. Very glad to see taxpayer dollars invested in such an impressive internal control. Money very well spent.
