I have worked for 16 years as an Enrolled Agent and until now, never had to prove my identity to the IRS. Now, some third-party (ID.me) has my personal data, and I have no idea who they are, who over there has access, and what they do with it. Next, we'll be hearing in the news about how the ID.me database was hacked and the millions of us that are forced to use it will have to deal with the consequencs.
