The company provides identity proofing, authentication and community verification for organizations across sectors. The company's technology meets the federal standards for consumer authentication and is approved as a NIST 800-63-3 IAL2 / AAL2 conformant credential service provider by the Kantara Initiative. ID.me's Identity Gateway also has a Federal Risk and Authorization Management Program (FedRAMP) Moderate Authority to Operate (ATO). ID.me is the only provider with video chat and is committed to "No Identity Left Behind" to enable all people to have a secure digital identity.
The company has garnered a mixed reputation, with notable strengths in its identity verification service, which many users found secure and efficient, particularly praising the helpfulness of customer service during video calls. However, significant concerns were raised regarding the complexity of the verification process, which some customers found frustrating and time-consuming, particularly older users or those with unique identification issues. Additionally, delays and technical difficulties, including issues with document acceptance and login credentials, have led to dissatisfaction among several users. Overall, while the service is valued for its security, improvements in user experience and support are essential.

I am not very proficient with computers and processes this processes contained short easy steps though I also had 2 computer accessed a phone and computer. But steps were easy and efficient
Mi experiencia fue muy buena super profecionales son
It's has been professionally with your helping people like me who have low-income to make it easy for us to get the degrease internet rate by the 30% discount through Cox Communication, So I can get the help that I needed to keep that two businesses and I appreciate all of this and the help that I can get so It can make it easy for me to pay the Internet Cox bill. For what I had experience this is good because it prevents issues and that's something that nobody want's.
I tried to get my teacher discount for Black Friday using ID.me in a number of retail sites. Half of the time I was rejected. I question having to tell this site so much information about myself (full name, home address, SSN#!) when other verification sites simply ask me for my professional email and then check to see if I appear on the school faculty list. ID.me requires scanning either teacher ID, teaching certificate (again, more private information) or screenshot of district faculty list. I struggled with the last one because apparently the computer did not like my screenshot. As I said, it was time consuming to do this and I do not like the invasion of privacy- particularly giving away my SSN#.
It was easy to motivate threw your web site and it was very secure
It was rough. Was never sure my actions were as directed. Had to redo many steps and routines.
Great experience specially traveling or filing with government websites this is will make ur life easy
Was nervous being my first time having to deal with this but the agent I video called was very nice and helpful
First time experience asking too much details, too much personal information, technology it's not 100% safe
I went through their whole video call process, showing my driver's license and my passport, only to have SSA.gov tell me that they could not identify me via the information given them by ID.ME. Absolute waste of time
Every issue is too much complicate. Please make it a little more simple.
I wanted to check on a notice I received from the IRS but I had verify my identity through ID.me. At first, I'm like why I've had my IRS account for years. Is this scam? So, I clicked off it a couple of times. After doing some research, I found out the government has implemented this program, to help verify people's identity, and prevent fraud. For example, I had a friend that had to do the same thing to login to him Unemployment account to do his weekly certification even though he had been receiving his unemployment checks for a couple months now. For me, I live in a very rural area, and I don't have a physical mailbox on my property. I have a P.O. Box. I've had it for many many years. When you do the selfie verification, my DL's has my physical address. All my secondary documents like utilities will have P.O.Box didn't know what the IRS had but I think it was my P.O. Box. So, when I went through all the selfie steps, it couldn't verify my identity. I had to do a video chat anyway. My rep was very professional, helpful, and friendly. The process took about 5 minutes at the most. I wasted so much time using the selfie option. I would advise using the video chat especially if you use a physical and PO Box address to conduct certain business. You never know which one the system will have you to verify.
The instructions and process were easy to follow. Everything worked the first time.
At first I thought this was going to be a convoluted process. Once I had read and gathered the necessary materials, the process went quickly. I very much like the level of security that this verification process appears to provide. Actually would like to see more companies use this technology.
Inputting my ID was really easy and smooth once I made it the other side the information I got definitely crushed me and honestly took all the wind out of my sails but God blessed me any way my son was here and that kept me online so not all bad just not a 5
I had set up an id.me account several months ago in anticipation of VA.gov moving there. Today, trying to login I got their slow countdown then NOTHING. Their help didn't seem to even consider this. Password reset didn't help. Finally, after trying four browsers (including Firefox), I found one that worked. Then, going to my VA medical, it ignored the id.me login account, and required me to once again authenticate my identity. Of course, it rejected my home voip phone for that, but WOULD LATER use the voip phone to send an authentication code. I only use this every few months, so now I have to make notes on how to make this thing work.
The log in process was complicated for a first timer but step-by-step instructions made it simple to execute.
Just to access the IRS payment plan and upload the required documents and self photo took over an hour. It was nothing less than frustrating as it kept rejecting my submittals based on picture quality. Signing up for a payment plan should be as simple as a 2 minute phone conversation.
