ID.me simplifies how individuals prove and share their identity online. The ID.me secure digital identity network has over 98 million members, as well as partnerships with 30 states, 10 federal agencies, and over 500 name-brand retailers.
The company provides identity proofing, authentication and community verification for organizations across sectors. The company's technology meets the federal standards for consumer authentication and is approved as a NIST 800-63-3 IAL2 / AAL2 conformant credential service provider by the Kantara Initiative. ID.me's Identity Gateway also has a Federal Risk and Authorization Management Program (FedRAMP) Moderate Authority to Operate (ATO). ID.me is the only provider with video chat and is committed to "No Identity Left Behind" to enable all people to have a secure digital identity.
The company has garnered a mixed reputation, with notable strengths in its identity verification service, which many users found secure and efficient, particularly praising the helpfulness of customer service during video calls. However, significant concerns were raised regarding the complexity of the verification process, which some customers found frustrating and time-consuming, particularly older users or those with unique identification issues. Additionally, delays and technical difficulties, including issues with document acceptance and login credentials, have led to dissatisfaction among several users. Overall, while the service is valued for its security, improvements in user experience and support are essential.

ID.me was super easy to use. Just fill out your information and provide your documentation and its approved so quickly if you qualify. I never knew about this but, so glad I do now.
First time using or even hearing about ID.me and I really enjoy it. Very trusted and easier access to important information
Why do you keep asking the same questions? How many times do I have to repeat myself? It's a very bad application for the feeble mind.
Quick, painless, and complete. This took me about 5 minutes to complete and you want a 100 word review on it. What exactly would that entail? I already had ID and me from last year.
I gave it a try, but I'm just trying it out but not sure if it's 24 hours because it wouldn't let me proceed with my search
Can not go to my account many times sign in.
I got my account along time ago, before September 18,2021. I always sign in with Social Security Username. Suddenly the SSA asked me Create an account id.me. After that, I can not going to my account id.me. So I can not access Social Security Service.
No one to ask questions. Now I have to delete my entire account and wait 7 days to set it up again and I still won't have answers to fix the mistake that I made.
Phone verification seems to fail if you don't have a contract with a service provider or perhaps it's not in your name and this probably happens to a lot of people. Texting a code should be good enough which is done as well. This failure will cause the user to have to video chat with an agent which could and did fail as well and maybe the user doesn't have a web cam. The agent instructed me to use zoom after the browser application failed. That worked, but what if you don't have a web cam? You may be able to use your phone? All of this trouble because of the failed phone verification. The phone verification is a terrible idea and whoever thought of it is an idiot that clearly didn't think of the different circumstances in which the process could go wrong. Also, not everyone has a cell phone. It's the worst idea. A good software engineer would have recognized the problems that users would encounter with this method. The problems translate to lost revenue. You should terminate the individual who developed this process and hire someone who is competent. They probably lied on their resume. You could save money if verification worked properly and not have to hire agents to do the process manually. Another possibility is that you want to cause this trouble to discourage users from completing the process? The verification mechanisms were not carefully planned and thought out.
Went to the post office did everything to verify my identity and I still cannot log on even though the email said that I have been identified. I have no one to help me there is no one available to help to fix this issue. I am still not able to log onto my account.
Courteous informative, knowledge, precise information given listen to my request gave me good information where I could complete my task in a timely matter it was able to connect with the veterans administration
I wasted an hour or so and had to redo several steps. They want your SSN, your driver's license, your SS card, a selfie, and then, after they can't read a great picture, you have to get into a video conference with some foreigner who asks a bunch of questions that you just answered! If you have the option to use ANY other service, use it instead! The minor thing I had to take care of was almost not important enough to go through the agony of getting through this bull$#*!!
It did not provide the income tax information I was looking for. I wanted to verify my AGI on my 2023 income tax to be able to file my 2024 income tax form before the deadline electronically.
Totally wrecked my life. I had to use this service for unemployment benefits. Then I was contacted by a gentleman stating he was with I'd/me. Then after a while I got contacted by someone saying my accounts had been merged? Then suspended. There is no phone number to contact anyone. Then I tried to explain it to Roy the good old chat box. He denied my testimony. In January I filed for unemployment and still to this day nothing. Unemployment says my benefits are sitting there but I can't get passed this crap. Pathetic
No comment dont know yet, m this is my first dint and cant make any comments. So far yoyu are pain in the $#*! if this can help you. Need help not surb=vey
I was trying to get a copy of my DD214 discharge papers and was forced to use ID.me and really wasn't happy about any of it. I personally think it's bull$#*! but as a sheep who gets poked and prodded we sometimes get forced by the system to comply with what it wants us to do. It's All Bull$#*!! Collecting our information and probably selling it to the highest bidder. They want me to prove who I am, meanwhile, I got no clue who they are and I'm supposed to just provide all of this personal information to them! What if they get hacked? I dont even know who they are and I'm supposed to just trust that they're ligit? WTF! I dont like it at all. Especially when you're forced to agree with everyone's terms and conditions. There should be a box that you can check to not agree! We should be able to agree to disagree! However, not agreeing will deny you and you get canceled! Who reads all that bull$#*!? Unless you're a lawyer you're probably not going to understand it anyway. Sign your rights away. I did it in a state of duress because I was stressed out about having to do any of this.when it should have took a minute or less to request a copy of my DD214.
I followed all steps precisely and to standard. Despite this, ID.me blocked my access to vital records and communication with my health care team. This took place immediately before travel when health care communication was vital for me. ID.me was perfectly willing to harvest my personal data and biometrics, but blocked my access to my own documents and healthcare without any legitimate cause.
Muy buena tuve una buena comunicacion con la operadora que me atendio lo unico que al principio se tardaron al cobtestar pero de resto me parecio muy buena 😊
