I created an ID, me account a few years ago to access the VA web site. Recently I wanted to set up an account at IRS, and saw that they also were using ID.me. The best thing was that I could use my existing ID.me account to very quickly set up the IRS account. Some government agencies seem to be using Login.gov as a similar partner for added security. I was recently forced to convert my name/password OPM (Office of Personnel Management) account to Login.gov It has been a nightmare... hour-long waits on the phone just for human help logging in, websites that don't work. I hope all other government agencies I need an account with opt for ID.me..

Took me over an hour to complete the registration process because my browsers on an android tablet block pop ups and overlays, protecting me from an app that's supposed to protect me, lol!. So I haven't even gotten to go the intended website requiring id.me. It was like a difficult birth... Now that registration is done, I will soon forget the pains of finding a browser so I could finish the process. The video interview was a breeze. Now I need to actually implement it at the soc.
