I gathered up several forms of ID, but only needed my current valid Drv. License & did a facial video scan. Took 10 minutes total. Done & ready to use. Yes you can request your biometric(s) be deleted right from your account once approved & your account updated. Look at some point you will want/need to access to your IRS or SS accounts online & I'd.me is the way you do it as they have partnered with IRS.gov
