Im new to this and i love the app it protects everything if someone tried to log in i would have to verify its me and i like that i would know and the team member was very helpful and i had all my documents i needed to verify myself for my first time i definitely think its easier with ID.me
I needed to access my account on the IRS web site and had to use this "service". They REQUIRED me to do a video for ID purposes. At one point, it looked like I could avoid this by linking to my Google account but that just helped them get more info about me. They still required me to do the video. If you read their "privacy policy" basically they'll share your info with whoever they want to. Hate this ongoing behavior by all the tech "services". They wonder why we want the government to break them up and limit their power over us (huge eyeroll!).
It was long stressful and really long draw out process and I'm still waiting for my documents so this experience has been harsh and long lasting stress
Uploading was easy. The whole walk through was easy to follow. I just fear DOGE access to my personal information especially my banking info. I do not think ID.me would refuse access to them.

In the present atmosphere, when the present administration, via an unelected entity with no congressional oversight, little apparent nuanced understanding of how our federal government functions and few if any security clearances and safeguards is taking a meat ax vs a scalpel to government agencies, I see a very real probability that the value of ID.me in protecting my personal information will be negligible.
Not good when you are senior with limited IT skills. It is ridiculous to require this when information has been constantly the same the past twenty five years.
They got right to it even at 3:30 am I still was able to accomplish what I needed done through Id.me the customer service rep was wondering and understanding I would recommend hands down
They were very helpful and they go through a lot of security before you can even use the service so I like that kind of security I would recommend them
