ID.me simplifies how individuals prove and share their identity online. The ID.me secure digital identity network has over 98 million members, as well as partnerships with 30 states, 10 federal agencies, and over 500 name-brand retailers.
The company provides identity proofing, authentication and community verification for organizations across sectors. The company's technology meets the federal standards for consumer authentication and is approved as a NIST 800-63-3 IAL2 / AAL2 conformant credential service provider by the Kantara Initiative. ID.me's Identity Gateway also has a Federal Risk and Authorization Management Program (FedRAMP) Moderate Authority to Operate (ATO). ID.me is the only provider with video chat and is committed to "No Identity Left Behind" to enable all people to have a secure digital identity.
The company has garnered a mixed reputation, with notable strengths in its identity verification service, which many users found secure and efficient, particularly praising the helpfulness of customer service during video calls. However, significant concerns were raised regarding the complexity of the verification process, which some customers found frustrating and time-consuming, particularly older users or those with unique identification issues. Additionally, delays and technical difficulties, including issues with document acceptance and login credentials, have led to dissatisfaction among several users. Overall, while the service is valued for its security, improvements in user experience and support are essential.

Too many sites are asking for reviews, just make a good product and stop asking my for reviews. We use sites like ID.me for a faster experience, then you waste even more of my time wanting a raving review and picnics and rainbows and bright glowing music of hallelujah. SMH, hit yourself with your purse.
I have no idea what Id.me is. I just know that I had to obtain a username and password when I obtained a VA card. Suddenly, Social Security is using it. I presume it some sort of government program to standardize sign in procedures.
As far as the creating an account goes, it was fairly easy, yes there are some steps involved just like other places that want to verify your ID, the good thing is that this can save you from that process with those other places, potentially once they get on board; if they keep the ID verification system out of our bodies I'm okay with it, our last line of defense if you will against so much invasion of privacy, and I know it sounds somewhat counter-intuitive, but these these are the times we're in.
I had a duplicate account that prevented me from getting verified. The main problem was that the primary account was linked to a closed account I could not access. Although it took a while to connect to an agent via chat, once I was online with the individual, the issue was resolved quickly.
It's easy to use, you just have to sign up one time, get approval through I.D. me and get a text or email etc. with some numbers to apply, push continue to your site it will direct you...
I couldn't remember my password for the govt social security website. I had to request something from them by mail but never followed up so i just didnt have access to my retirement info and tax history for a couple of YEARS!
Until ID.me! i was able to sign-in and see there are mistakes in my file and know what to expect when i retire, both very important.
There was a problem with my ID. I was very worried. They were very calm, supportive and friendly and knew what to do to thoroughly go through things with me and get everything covered and corrected. I'm very please to know my ID is s not being used by anyone else.
I am extremely satisfied with this service.
Me pareció muy bien, bastante servicial.
Had the worst time with ID.me and there wasn't any support to get over the problem. The AI chat kept circling around to the same responses even when I rephrased the issue. Most frustrating site I have encountered in a while
It was easy and convenient to use. I trust that it is secure because the Social Security Administration has checked it out and uses it for identification of individuals.
ID.me application was easy to complete and verify. It gives you access to many online sources you need an ID for. I like saving time being able to use ID.me
I waited until I needed to use this process. Don't do that. It takes longer than you think, so get to it as soon as you know you'll need to get it done.
I tried to take photos with my phone and they were rejected 2 times. Just go straight to video chat and save yourself the hassle.
I needed to verify my social security card and drivers license. It's some high tech tech they got. You do speak to a real person. Get your parents up to speed so they can login into their social security accounts. Help your family.
A few glitches in confirming the correct Identification data. Once confirmed the service was secure and efficient. Only delay was waiting for an available agent on the video call. They were very efficient once accessed.
My experience with ID.me was excellent. The verification process was quick, easy to understand, and very secure. I liked how clear the instructions were, and everything worked smoothly from start to finish. It really helped me complete the steps I needed without stress. Highly recommended.
Fue muy rápido fácil y seguro de usar cada paso fue fácil y no me confundió
In order for me as a disabled veteran to connect with my Provider and with all the different clinics I use, ID ME is a 'must have.
ID ME insures that my communications are not going to be read by anyone that I did not intend to receive it.
Have a hack free system provided by the VA is extremely important to this disabled veteran.
I was forced to go through them to get my new Social Security account online since they changed systems and this took hours of time and energy and repeating the process 10 times and nothing working -changed device, downloaded new browsers, changed cameras and finally having to call customer service and do a live video ID after I had already logged in and verified everything countless times and uploaded the same documents over and over. Completely ridiculous and totally avoid them unless you have to use it. Instructions are also confusing. I'm a tech savvy senior but most are not and this is totally inappropriate to use with the Social Security Administration website.
Genial las personas en video llamada fueron muy amables bendiciones al equipo.
