It was easy and simple to setup my ID.me account! The tasks were on point and explained that was easy to understand! A child could easily setup an ID.me account!
ID me had trouble verifying me off of my ID and face scan so I had to get more documents to prove that I was me. I had to do a video call with a worker with said documents and show them on camera. Which I don't mind but the queue time was 25 minutes and I waited an hour and a half at my laptop. The call itself was quick
It was a major pain-in-the-neck to have to jump through all the hoops required. My several attempt to verify my identify with the automated video system using my cell phone's camera failed even after carefully following the guidelines provided. Same results occurred when using my desktop computer and a web cam. I'm a tech savvy person with a lot of patience, so I can't imagine how others suffered through the process.
This is one of the best experiences I ever had I highly recommend to use and tell people about it

I've used ID.me every time an organization has this option. It works very well. I have a app that owes me money and for 1 year I've been trying to prove who I am. This would be over if they used ID.me!
How did the Federal government give up all of its websites and online presence to this junky company. I read that they were controlled by the Chinese. I spent 6 hours in December 2023 trying to get them to process my identification with the US Copyright and Trademark office where I have worked for 50 years. They had no idea what to do with my passport or driver's license. Defective is the nicest thing I can say. There was no one to help or intercede. What a mistake to contract out these websites/services to ID.me. They are total junk. I pay extra and deal with the federal agencies personally. ID.me is absolutely defective.
I have used ID.me for twelve years now since separating from The United States Marine Corps to maintain access to my files and benefits when needed on the VA's official site which requires a multi factor login process that's where ID.me comes in because of its' great security features it grants me the security of knowing those important things are always protected. ID.me does its' job and does it well.

I needed to be able to retrieve my tax info from last year. ID.me was able to help me do that and complete my return.
ID.ME eliminated option to contact them about problems in cashing out rewards. They no longer offer direct contact opportunity and do not respond to requests for help. This is concerning from a customer service perspective but also from a security one.
Easy to use, agent friendly. Wait time was a little long however I understand it is necessary to secure my account.
Having to read something with more than one meaning can get you to wonder why you can't get pass a point.
My experience was ok except for the video call. I was talked through step by step which was really needed to make contact with the receiver on the other end.
With ID me it helped me to understand the confidentiality that IRS keeps for each individual and protecting identity
I've reported that I keep receiving errors and account was suspended for no reason. STILL NO SUPPORT OR RESPONSES
If anyone is not familiar with selfie taking or video conferencing, (like many elderly or older/less tech savvy people) you might very well be frustrated and unable to complete process. I would recommend having a younger person with you when attempting or you may not be able to complete process.
