ID.ME was very easy to set up. EASY instructions, quick to complete. Only iffy moment was when taking the 'selfie' you have to remove your glasses and may not be able to read the instructions (during the time your glasses are off).

I found the procedure very complicated and difficult perhaps because I am nearly 90 years old and not that computer illiterate. However, the person who helped me through it actually responded in a fairly short time about five or 10 minutes and stuck with me the whole way until the job was done.

Thus clicking on a "help" pop up from Just Answer, they recruited me by an offer of $5, you click on OK, give your credit card and suddenly there is a $75 subscription sent to your card. All said and done they could not get any further than I had after working on it for over 1-1/2 hours or more.
THE BIGGEST PROBLE M WAS THAT, BECAUSE OF THE SHUTDOWN, I HAD NO WAY OF KNOWING HOW MUCH I OWED, SO COULD ONLY GUESS.
IF THE ONLY WAY THE SET-UP CAN BE COMPLETED IS ON A PHONE, IT WOULD HAVE BEEN HELPFUL AND SAVED ME 12+ HOURS OF MY LIFE THAT I CANNOT GET BACK. I'M GLAD THE SERVICE IS THERE AND NOT LEFT TO IRS ITSELF, WITH THE SHUT DOWN, NO MONEY WAS TRANSFERED ANYWAY.
