I was in a frustrating loop for hours, attempting to create an account and have my info verified. FINALLY I got an email from ID. Me, telling me I had successfully created my account and my info was verified. Then, when I attempted to actually use it, I got an error screen which said ONLY, "Some of your information does not match the information on file." On file WHERE? WHICH information? It wouldn't tell me. And there was no getting around this screen. It just said "Click here to start over." Well, it was possible I had typed something incorrectly, but remember -- this message appeared when I tried to LOG IN. So what could have been wrong at that point? No idea and no way to find out. I thought there might be a delay in the verification, so I restarted the computer and tried again an hour later. Same thing. And then it took me another half hour to figure out how to delete my account and remove all my sensitive personal data from ID. Me. I ended up having to fill out the NJ Senior Freeze application by hand instead of online, and then drive it to the post office. If I had just done that in the first place, I would have saved almost three annoying hours. Do not sign up for this service unless you absolutely have to.

I tried to log in to my IRS web portal account and found I couldn't remember my login credentials. I did finally log in despite a buggy back end design, and agreed to and an alternative secondary step. The design was so bug ridden it reintroduced a previous state, logged me out, and then required that the NEW second step be ENTERED in order to ENTER the second step! Until it finally fell through to an exception and allowed me to speak with a human, is simply went around in circles for over 5 mintues.

Because as an independent contractor, identity is a must be able to provide, or you could lose your profits. A virtual call for identifying was much easier then a office visit. I received a letter in the mail telling me they needed more info. Everything was IRS verified so I feel confident it was taken in time.

I was about to file my income tax on line electronically but the program said my agi for 2023 did not match the IRS record agi for me so I decided to log in to the IRS and look up my 2023 agi. I was able to do this and enter in the correct ari. Interestingly the IRS agi for me was the same value as the one I originally entered but for some reason the tax software no longer said I had entered in the incorrect value. Odd that it gave an error only to not give an error after I was able to verify the agi on the IRS web site.
