Had one issue and perhaps my fault. Overall the experience was fine and gave me confidence my info is secure. I started out on my laptop and used my iPhone to take required pictures. After that it said return to the previous tab in my browser and I assumed phone but nothing there, which could be my fault, who knows. So I thought go back to the laptop and I found the needed tab and finished up with no issues. Perhaps the biggest thing I got out of this was it would be really hard to BS to try and get an account. That gave me confidence.
Filling out the ID.me information online was fast and secure Just like they said it would be. It was easy to follow prompts for each section. And another good thing about it is that in 2 to 3 weeks we can sign back into ID.me and check the status.

ID.ME is not a government site despite many government departments requiring access via their service! I created an account and suddenly i was in a shop! Discounts at Nordstrom! WTF?
Once i figured out how to get to the next step to getting access to my IRS information there was little to no explanation of what was going to happen. I was suddenly required to have a phone with a camera and browser, and lighting equipment so i could get a clear picture of documents, and i was required to remove my glasses so that i wasn't sure if i was still in the process or not!

I wanted to enroll with the IRS, and they apparently out source the process on varifying my identity to ID.me. I am not a tech genius but ID.me had everything there that I needed to complete my enrollment. Also I am not terribly trusting, but felt totally comfortable with the multi verification precess required before going to the next step of verification... Thank you guys... stay safe
