Hulu freezes after watching a couple of episodes. I have to exit Hulu and then re-open it for it to work. NONE, I mean NONE of my other apps do that. I have extremely fast internet and fantastic NEW router. It ONLY happens on Hulu. I am going to cancel as soon as I get Netflix loaded in.
And yes, I have done all of that "generic" stuff that is described on the internet. (Un-install, reboot, etc...) Don't waste my time telling me to unplug, etc... I have done ALL of that 50 times!
I am using Roku on 4 different TV's, and 2 of the TV's are Roku Tv's, and 2 TV's use Roku Streaming Sticks. And YES, I have contacted Roku Support on many occasions.
I see hundreds and hundreds of people on the internet having the same problem, and all any of us get, are the "generic" responses from the support books they give you.
Netflix, here I come!
I subscribed to Hulu and was highly disappointed by the lack of accecablitiy to their supposed wide range of movies and tv shows. This in addition to the site crashing to the point of being unusable! I canceled my subscription a month ago and they took out a payment for a month of service that was not provided.
I payed the 79.00 dollars yearly subscription I accidentally canceled and they told me in order to continue hulu I have to pay another 79.00 dollars and create an new account like really I will not give you another 79.00 dollars when you just charge my card 79.00 dollars. Yall please be careful they will take your money...
Hulu was intriguing to my family because we love TV without having all of the ridiculous channels at the ridiculous price, so instead we went on demand with Hulu which is SUPER frustrating at times because it only has half seasons, it is UNGODLEY slow at getting the new episodes of previous seasons they air and if they do show them it could be online only so if you have a tablet you're royally screwed. The commercials have gotten increasingly annoying since they now give you the option to go commercial free and if you choose to stick with the commercials... trust that in a few days they will push you into the extra cash. Hulu just get your $#*! together.
We only stream. Amazon Prime, Netflix CBS, NBC all stream fine. HULU RARELY WORKS I tried contacting them with zero help. I write this review under my name so no retaliation from them again. BUYER BEWARE
The free trial is a waste of time. They list shows that when you go to watch them are not actually available. Canceling the service was a pita, which a gauntlet of questions and no customer service.
I'm still not sure its canceled.
Anyway, save your money and time and pick another service.
For starters, Hulu cut the Superbowl 3 minutes before the game ended. Hulu continues to have transmission errors causing constant loss of live TV shows. During Dallas/Redskins game Hulu went into a 40 minute LOOP show a single play over and over and over. I have ordered Direct TV to be installed and am cancelling HULU. Simply dreadful!
I used to love the autoplay feature which would automatically play the next episode of your show for you. They changed the autoplay to just play any random show they've "suggested" for you after your current episode ends and you have to manually go back to the show you wanted to watch. It drives me insane. Absolutely defeats the purpose of autoplay. I use hulu to catch up on shows I've missed and have to turn autoplay off if I missed more than 1 episode. I need the background noise of the tv to fall asleep and turn on a familiar show to fall asleep to. I am constantly awoken to strange noises and voices to realize some weird show that I hate is on instead of the show I wanted on. If they don't change this back, I will be canceling my subscription.
Their design is literally garbage. You can't find anything, on Roku it's an instant migraine and no thumbnails of cataloguing of the show to browse though. It's just HUGE text and one huge picture, and takes 5 additional steps to get from point A to B, whereas it took two before. I tried loading it twice, realised they WERE NOT saying "oops, we messed up" thus repealing it, so I immediately cancelled and am pissed because I loved the programming. They self-destructed their own innovative platform of creativity and entertainment by making the process of accessing said entertainment ludicrous. You're doing a disservice to your once-customers and to the industry, actors, and brilliant writers who want higher viewership rather than a decline based on such an unnecessary repellant.
Ive had regular Hulu for years- dropped cable a long time ago and got Hulu live: I agree with all these posts-its horrible! We wanted it for our live local channels-right. Is its the only service available in our area to offer and here we are trying to watch the patriots game and once againthe channel service is totally and completely out! Plus, you cannot get ahold of customer service because it seems they are unavailable as well. Absolutely rediculous! As soon as direct tv offers local tv in our area on their new streaming service we are canceling Hulu and going to them, so disappointed!
It was fraud on my acct payments taken for another acct and they wont give me any info on this matter but in the mean while my hulu is on hold for payment this is a scam to me and cindy disconnecting with me because i wanted a refund i will be asking of a boycott of this company how do you take my money and 1st answer to my issue is "we can delete your acct" thats no help at all sad this day and age everyone will try to get over on you #boycotthulu go to netfilx i have had no issues with this company to date got them both at the same time...#boycotthulu #boycotthulu #boycotthulu #boycotthulu
I use to see movie full screen, now it has black bars on top and bottom. Now can't use my earbuds to pause like I use to. I really don't know why they changed it. The way they had it was better than it is now. I truly don't recommend it for iPads. Hope they fix this junk.
Don't ever pay for Hulu tv it's such a joke. Even when u dvr something they won't let u fwd so stupid and their channel lineup sucks. And streaming sucks. Their TV guide is absolutely so stupid. PlayStation vue is **************% better. Hulu tv sucks sooooooo bad don't do it
I pay 80 + dollars a month for what Hulu terms "ad free." Unfortunately, it is anything but. Yes, if you are able to record a show, you might (and I stress, might) be able to FF past the commercials, but if you simply select a show they have available, they load it up with ads even if it's a show like Black Sails, which aired on Starz without commercials. Even their own produced shows like The Handmaid's Tale, they fill with commercial breaks. I understand that Hulu cannot control what is broadcast on the commercial stations (NBC, CBS, ABC, etc) but you would think if they are selling a service that they term ad-free, that they would take every opportunity to keep their customers from having to watch commercials. Outside of that MAJOR flaw, I would be remiss if I didn't say that their service has been reliable for the most part. The picture is of good quality and the DVR service works well 90% of the time. I really just have the one complaint against them, but it is a deal breaker.
Signed up for Hulu last week, dropped YouTube TV. I run it through my apple TV set up on my home tv = at least I did - for the first week it was pretty good occasionally would get a channel saying they could not connect - and they were working on it - but most channels worked most of the time.
-I got an email telling me I needed to set my home area. I thought thats weird - i did that on sign up - but I went ahead and did that. Then all of a sudden, on some channels - it would not connect and gave me error messages - that indicated it was an internet connection problem - Thats Bull$#*!, netflix, prime, everything else runs just fine - got messages directing me to help page with a link - help would open for about 2 seconds - then say it was unavailable. More and more channels became unavailable over the next 2 or 3 days. Now - no connectivity - all I get is a message saying they are working on it - been that way for 2 days - no channels available. So I'm cancelling them after 1 week - a waste of 50 bucks
I have the the fastest speeds of internet in my area. Everything, (EVERYTHING) works at perfect speed except Hulu. Even Crunchyroll. CRUNCHYROLL! We all hate Crunchyroll! Hulu skips, jumps, loads, buffers, and then the Superbowl. Everybody i can find i turn them away from Hulu I wouldn't wish this on my worse enemy and hope the company actually goes out of business. Do not submit yourself to this crap cuz once it gets on your shoe its hard to get it off.
I pay to "watch commercials on HULU" to the tune of every 6 minutes, there are a bank of 3 "ads". After the "ads" play, there is a black screen for about 15-45 seconds, which is pretty uncomfortable waiting for "something to play". When it DOES come back to the programming, it's been "cut off" and again, inconsistent.
I was watching "The 100" on Netflix, and saw the full two seasons, then came here to HULU which is ONLY playing episode 10 and above, which makes NO sense whatsoever.
The UI (User Interface) is also a MESS: It's sloppy and unorganized, making searching more difficult than need be. Searching for an entire series can be a bunch of "clips mixed in with full episodes". HULU, get your act together!
I checked my credit card and sure as s*^t they're still ripping me off worse than AOL ever did and I can't do a dam thing about it. Piss on you HULU I hope you rot in hell I'm a Disabled American Veteran and my disability check is direct deposited on this card so once you get the VA comfortable and working you try to limit changes. So the small smout they steal from each month isn't worth disturbing the VA... yet...
I paided $75.63 a month for Hulu. I never watched Disney or ESPN but was forced to take them as part of the bundle. This price does not include no ads but, does include live TV. I finally unsubscribed and put my ROKU app to work.
I found Apple TV, Paramount+, and Peacock. All my local network channels have free apps, so I get local news. The major networks all free have apps as well, so I get network news too. (CNN, USA, CW...)
I admit I am not a live TV watcher, so this works for me. I get all the network shows and news I always watched for $50+ a month less! That includes cost for AppleTV, Peacock and Paramount+, with very few or no ads!
I'm 70 and retired. That $600 a year comes in handy! If I can do it, anyone can.
It is just not Hulu, it is Sling, and YouTube TV too. All over priced!
So a few years back I had Hulu and paid to not have commercials. Guess what, I still had commercials, still have no idea what I was paying extra for. I ended up canceling it. Few years later, got married and my wife got Hulu. Paid for the live TV and whatnot. I ended up paying for Hulu again and agreed to pay the extra for no commercials. Well, there's still commercials. Volume is freakin ridiculous too. We have to mute the TV literally every time so we don't have to keep turning the TV down. It's ridiculous. Get cable, Hulu is not worth it
Answer: Not worth it since they updated their interface into an unusable mess. Customer service is awful, stay far away.
Answer: Happened to me. Stay away from hulu. My systems is high speed and works great with YouTube 4k and Netflix 4K HDR. Hulu obviously is bandwidth limited which might work for customers who watch old movies but their technology is not good for 1080P and modern technology.
Answer: It's hulu yet clearing the cashe every time before starting Hulu is substandard there overloaded
Answer: Yes & with Hulu Live you get all of the local channels like CBS, NBC, Fox & ABC. The shows are clearer too because of the way they come in from their On Demand libraries. I love Hulu Live & was so tired of Dish for a few reasons. You should just try it. You get the first seven days free & can cancel anytime. No contracts, equipment or bullshit. All you need is a good strong internet signal which most of us have today. My monthly bill was $100 with Dish. My new Hulu Live bill is $80, but that includes no commercials & an extended cloud DVR where you can fast forward through commercials on recorded shows. You also get access to their whole Hulu library.
Hulu's reputation is marked by a diverse content library and the appeal of timely access to popular TV shows and movies, which many customers appreciate. However, significant concerns have emerged regarding technical performance, including frequent buffering, app freezes, and navigation difficulties, leading to frustration among users. Additionally, issues with customer service, such as unresponsive support and billing discrepancies, have been highlighted. The overall sentiment indicates that while Hulu offers valuable content, persistent operational problems and a growing dissatisfaction with ad frequency may push customers toward alternative streaming services.
