Agree with previous comments! Most terrible & most unprofessional company I have even come across. Con people name Gus. No money-back-guarantee is available! It's all lies. They con you to sign in to the Hosting by saying all will be done with their help but actually help you with just taking your money. The server is crap, no space at all and they asking you immediately to pay extra. If you cancel within 3 days, you get no money back although live chat promising 90 days! Pack of lies. Stay away if you don't want to get involve Police and the Bank fraud department!
Really glad to run my new website with Hostwinds - their shared hosting service is really stable and professional. I tend to place fairly technical support calls. In over 20 support calls (almost never for a problem, almost always for an implementation or coding question) I have never had worse than 15 mins first response, usually with an appropriate resolution. Calls that took longer clearly needed to take longer.
This company is absolute rubbish according to service and management. No support manager knows nothing. You always have to put a ticket even if you are using a managed server. They got no pieces of information about anything and will cost you from various hidden charges.
I love the easy to use and well organized website of Hostwinds. The prices are some of the most competitive on the market.

1. I don't see Shoutcast being offered anymore.
2. The option to renew a domain for more than one year is not longer available. I dislike this in particular.
I can honestly say that they offer the best service, hands down, that I've ever experienced. There really isn't anything not to like.

It was a relatively painless experience, with no technical issues.
The only reason for 4 stars is the company's lack of phone or live chat support with technical services. This is the only company whom I researched that does not offer this as part of their higher-end offering.

Hostwinds didn't work for me. I had problems connecting with the FTP. So I cancelled the order within a few hours of purchase (and well within its supposed "60 day money back guarantee"). However, when you cancel the order it does NOT automatically generate a refund. You have to contact the billing team separately and chase them for a refund!. They took payment immediately but I am still waiting (over a week) for a refund.
Sure, we all want highest quality and lowest prices, but it is impossible to reach and I have used such hosts that are offering cheapest packages but slowest servers. Hostwinds is not that kind of host. Their prices are totally reasonable and acceptable, but service is much better: solid hardware, stable network and available support. All that I get 24/7 and don't want to move anywhere else. Hope they will keep improving their solutions. Outstanding job, Hostwinds!

It took just two screens to get started (account and payment), then I got the email, opened a migration ticket that was easy to find and straightforward, and migrated was ready for me to check in less than 24 hours from start to finish.
They will not give me back my money. (3 years paid) They did not give me the 3 domains they promised as they only provide one. There ticket system is worthless for getting any repairs done. My sites are almost always down or hacked. And when you chat with people they have no power to do anything. All they can do is refer you to self help. When everything is THEIR FAULT. The site goes down all the time with zero changes on our parts. And then you have to fill out Tickets where they get back to you in their own sweet time. The Tickets will say its fixed when nobody can log in to simple websites. Run from this company people. You may be avoiding the biggest nightmare of your life. Before I had Bluehost. You could call them and they would fix it fast the few problems they had in 10 years. HOSTWINDS has been a nightmare now for a year. And they do not give money back since I have been asking from the beginning!

After I paid for my order I thought I could use my code straight away, but a verification had to be completed. I paid with a virtual bank card, so when they asked for a picture of it, I contacted support. Support was surprisingly good: they replied In under a minute and their reply was helpful. I submitted a screenshot of my bank app and a photo of my international passport. I still did not receive any follow up on the documents, though. But I am very satisfied that my money was refunded today
