My other website was not migrated, I am migrating from Godaddy to Hostgator. I heard of your great service, but for me, it has not been like that since I came to Hostgator.

We have used Hostgator for over 10 years and use to get 1Tb storage with unlimited sites on our hosting packages. Now we are getting limited storage and websites. You are no different than Blue Hosting to be honest. This is making us now look at alternatives as we might not be with Hostgator for another 10 years as you change things
I thought that by registering with you, I could finally download Word Press to my computer. In addition to the initial fee I paid to sign up with you, I've now paid $89.70 to REALLY use you as a host site. Then I find that you want more money for me to be able to download WP. I have called the help desk MULTIPLE times to resolve an email issue and it is still not working properly. I find the background noises during these calls to be unprofessional and I can actually hear other customers' conversations.

It used to be a great host with excellent customer service, but the service sucks now. A bunch of asians speaking poor english with insufficent technical skills. It took me four calls to get the right person to resolve something that turned out to be simple
They were top-rated, but their service and policy has been a major letdown. I ordered a server that came with the wrong hard drive and was told I couldn't cancel it and order the right one for a refund. I'm stuck with a server I can't use.

Dexter Y. Was able to sift through all of the unprofessional activity I experienced from representatives and a supervisor 03/13/2024. Not logging my call information, Support did not forward the case number they sent to me to the customer service dashboard or I was told it did not exist. Both agents + the supervisor tried to up-sale me to a product I did not need in the VPN. But Dexter Y. Got on the phone, listened to my problem, calmed my nerves and proceeded to fix the problem I was ready to pursue with an Attorney for support. That deserves 5 stars - I have been paying fo this account for 21 years and it's the first time I felt truly upset with the service. THANK YOU DEXTER!
I finally did double authentication and I have yet to receive a text message, which means I have to go find my recovery key each time I log in. I just changed my phone number to not include the "1" before the number. I hope that works. Plus, every time I log in, I have to turn off my sound because the chat box keeps dinging constantly. The new interface is limited and as a long term client, I am not impressed with all the new changes and tripled price overnight with no notice.
I'm trying to access the cPanel, but it keeps popping up with a customer support chat window that I can't minimize or exit out of, and the chat window is blocking all the buttons that I need to use to edit my email filters. Whoever designed that has an IQ of 70 and it's frustrating af.
Charging (or double charging) for what used to be free add-ons in the past, barely intellible customer service outsourcing, impossible to navigate accounts page, etc. Far cry from what HG used to be ten years ago.
On firefox I was unable to log in to the control panel. The login page refused to recognize my email address and would not put up a password input. Is this because I am running uBlock Origin on firefox? You should not be using advertising cruft during admin login.

Suddenly this am i could not access my email or log on to the c panel.
I attempted to trouble shoot - no success.
Reached out to chat who indicated my business plan needed renewing.
We did that - still no access to the 2 issues above.
Help said wait 20 minutes/

Answer: If you go straight to smartchat, it is very easy - you only need to find the smartchat button. I have worked with the Internet since web browsers were invented, so I know most of the answers already. That means that when I have a problem that I can't solve, it is going to be a real stinker for HostGator support to solve - I only bring them the difficult ones. Recently, I had an ISP who gave me terrible service, and the internet kept dropping out every few minutes. The Hostgator smartchat expert kept contact with me on and of for about an hour and three quarters until he had worked out the answer for me. That is what I call RELIABLE service.
