I can honestly say my experience of dealing with HOSTGATOR has been a truly good one. Whenever I had a problem, it was resolved immediately and with professionalism. The only complaint that I have is that the price keeps going up. Other than that, it is a great hosting service.
Three times in the last year, the server was full and I could not upload files. The first two times, the tech support person was knowledgeable and the problem was solved within 2 hours. This last time, however, it took three calls to tech support and 24 hours to solve the problem.
Things I've heard from other people. So far I've been told to launch the site that I've loaded I need to buy extra things so hostgator can buy the rights to my website name from the company that I bought the site name from, but I bought it from hostgator. So, at this point it's frustrating.
This new dashboard is very complicated.
1- I can't find my previous orders in my billing history.
2- It's very difficult to make a payment.
3- I have 1 account with the same credit card but it is registered as 12 separed accounts if I have 12 services to pay for. When it is time to change my credit card information I need to do it 12 times.
4- I lost a lot of time using this new dashboard
5- Difficult to know that hosting plan I am using since many of then are listed but NOT working.
6- The dashboard homepage sucks. Change it please.
Your migration has screwed up my account for weeks now, I am still waiting for it to be fully functional again... I finally got my CPanel working again and I went in to change my emails tonight, succeeded, then when back in to double check something now it won't load again... weeks of waiting and dead links... seriously disappointed and I have been with HG for a very long time and I have never had this many issues EVER
Unlike some other website hosting companies, HostGator's customer service helpline is easy to get through and the wait time is very reasonable. That is a HUGE PLUS for me! Customer support team is helpful and most importantly, knowledgeable — they're always ready to listen and help to problem solve issues.
I have ongoing problems with my site due to a subscription for SiteLock sold to me at twice the market price by Hostgator. The SiteLock subscription was purchased to resolve a major hack. They did a good job with this but since then I have had endless problems. Most have to do with incompatibles with my site registrar Cloudflare and Hostgarot / Sitelock. No one seems to be able resolve the problem.
While I have been generally satisfied with Hostgator the inability to resolve this issue has me looking for a new hosting service.

I am very disappointed with my HostGator Experience. It was fine for a few months and then outa nowhere our site was removed...all payments were made, eery month Host Gator made sure to pull from our creditcard as long as funds were available it was gone. Yet no one, not 1 single agent could fix our issue. We havent been able to see our website for approximately 5months. At this point we've given up and it's sad that this is the result!
1) you don't ever refund the money when I get a service by accident
2) I called to get my SSL on my website and it's still not working
3) You changed the entire interface and now I don't know how to see my host expiration date.
4) I am really disappointed and will move on to another hosting company.
Gave me best deal and features than other when I was switching. Now I find it difficult to manage with constant email delivery issues, with blacklisted IP, backend configuration issues. Some customer care representatives never understood the issue and finally someone escalated issue to admin to get it resolved. Wished the representative who handled 2nd or 3rd time, instead of redoing the whole process escalated the issue. We had close to 28 days of downtime.16 days trying to resolve from hostgator side.
I cancelled the Host Gator service and the tech support responded and confirmed the service was cancelled the monthly charge would be removed from my card after 5 business days, but the charge still hasn't been removed from my card.
We have two domains through hostgator and I can never access the second one via cpanel email - it will always go to the first account which should be 100% separate from the second but when I click email panel it doesn't go to the correct one
I'm not the most tech savvy guy, but Hostgator makes it easy to keep my website up and running, and their tech support always resolves any issues quickly and professionally.

The only thing that get me a bit confused is that I have activated all of my site protections and on each login I am greeted with the your sites are not protected screen and it asks me whether I want to proceed with site protection for a fee or not.
Godaddy did me dirty when i need them most and i watch that guy on youtube that put together a word press site and he use you guy and i think he is all right do as i do and receive as i receive. Is the moto i live buy. With that take it easy and if it is easy take it twice.(:

I have different email address on my cpanel accounts and find it constantly frustrating that I can only have one email adressa open at a time (ie if Im on the 'info@. ' account the 'exams@... ' account will close. Please can this issue be looked into!
I gave you 2 stars. Now i'm gonna give you 1 star I just dont feel like going back and changing it. It is very unfortunate but it seems like you guys are losing touch with reality. First, on the previous page you ask people to rate you. Now we go to the next page and you ask WHY DID YOU CHOOSE HOSTGATOR? What sense does that make, don't you want to know why people gave you the rating that they did. I guess not, probably because you already know. You guys almost doubled the price with no explanation. That is very disrespectful and unacceptable.
I specifically signed up with protection of my private identity included. I am now receiving a prompt that my identity is not protected. I reach out Ben Schmidgall and received no response. I am furious that my name is exposed and HostGator wants more money to do what I originally contracted with them to do.
Hostgator is the Worst Service provider.
They are not able to resolve the issues for more than 6months. Neither of their phone line works nor Email.
The chat people are call centre people having no access to resolve the issue

Answer: If you go straight to smartchat, it is very easy - you only need to find the smartchat button. I have worked with the Internet since web browsers were invented, so I know most of the answers already. That means that when I have a problem that I can't solve, it is going to be a real stinker for HostGator support to solve - I only bring them the difficult ones. Recently, I had an ISP who gave me terrible service, and the internet kept dropping out every few minutes. The Hostgator smartchat expert kept contact with me on and of for about an hour and three quarters until he had worked out the answer for me. That is what I call RELIABLE service.
