I purchased a hosting package and paid a year for it. I was told my current website would be migrated to Host Gator in 3-4 days. It has not been over a month and still not done. Every time I reach out to Host Gator support (migration team) it has take 3-5 days for them to respond every single time. Not a great 1st impression! How can you migrate a site in 3-4 days when it takes you more than that to even respond?
I've been a hostgator customer for more than 10 years, I always recommended you guys because I consider you had a great services at a great cost. Also your hosting packages were flexible enough. Lately with the changes you've made to the customer portal and the changes on your plans, I feel I get a worse service at a bigger cost. I'm starting to move all my packages to Inmotion Hosting
For the third day in a row, I am unable to access my email cpanel. I have "chatted" with your tech support repeatedly, tried different browsers, two different computers, all without success. I hate what you have done to the site. I used to be able to access the stuff I needed and not I cannot. So I get to spend some time today looking for a new hosting company.
I came over to HostGator from another hosting service I've been with for over 10 years. I'm impressed with how easy it was to make the move. They made it easy. Everything from a great cPanel experience, user guides, and even offering to help move my site make it a great choice! They even called me to make sure things were good. You can't get any better than this!
The only thing you added that I like is phone verification to log in, if this lock works on all log in related stuff to c panel, good. Otherwise you need to add it to include that so no one can hack in.

Account compromised and I am unable to manage my domains and email. Very poor customer service. You should think about a us based system. I am still not up and running 100% and if I would have listened to your two customer service reps I would have never been able to operate my business. Zero stars.
Poor customer service. I was told that it would take 2-5 business days for my account to be set up and running, instead it was a month, and I had to make over 20 calls, and send over 10 emails! It cost me a whole month of business traffic, I had no access to my email or website!
Support team do not follow through on requests. They don't read the case notes to understand the background and follow the script of apologizing but not actually moving the case forward. I've had to make contact 20+ times and requests are not processed. Frustrating experience. A case owner should be assigned and they should follow up with the customer until the case is complete.
Ripping off existing customers at renewal. Despite me de activating auto renewal in my account Hostgator re activated it twice against my will. I noticed it in time. Hostgator cannot be trusted. I have moved my domain to another provider
I am trying to get my existing site migrated over for a week and never received a "we are working on your request". Contacted Support and they struggled to find my request but assured me it exists. Told me to wait 72 hours. That was 5 days ago. I still don't have a confirmation that my request exists and honestly I don't think there is a request and I don't think anyone is going to contact me back.

This was a nightmare. I suppose I knew at some point that the Reseller Account I have had for a least 12 years was a program that was going away, but I wasn't any warning. All I got was a notice that the cost was going up in February and to log in to see what the new rate was. I knew my auto payment method was still valid, so I didn't look right away. 2 months later, with not a single other notification, the account was simply deleted. To get it migrated to a new account required extensive back and forth between different groups to get the information to the migration group. No one internally at hostgator professional services would get the information from the Host Gator regular support team, so, after many, many sleepless nights and phone calls, I figured out what was required and who talked someone into giving it to me so that I could pass the information over to the other support team at HostGator.
Don't buy any hosting from Hostgator. Pay few extra $$$ and get hosting from another vendor. Very slow and un-reliable infrastructure. Most of the time my sites are down for GATEWAY TIMEOUT. Support sucks and they need more training. DON'T host with them
First call took 14 plus minutes to be answered, answered by Hans who immediately put me on hold and never came back. Second call took more than 16 minutes to be answered. She sounded helpful but something went wrong with your own system and she couldn't hear me. She was wonderful, but your service has me frustrated, then I went to help.hostgator.com which was supposed to be a 24 hour chat that didn't exist. Now I'm fuming!

It took me 3 months just to get the website ranking and its been up for a now the chat will not give me time to do anything and wants a rating so they are getting a poor servicecouple of months now when I go to log in it says site can't be reached
The recently updated user interface lacks user-friendliness, and despite having paid for the service, I am confronted with intrusive ads upon logging in. This is not the experience I anticipated from a paid version of the service.
My website has been down at least three times this month. It has been completely down since this morning, and no idea when it's coming back. All of my products that I paid for just last month have been deleted.

Answer: If you go straight to smartchat, it is very easy - you only need to find the smartchat button. I have worked with the Internet since web browsers were invented, so I know most of the answers already. That means that when I have a problem that I can't solve, it is going to be a real stinker for HostGator support to solve - I only bring them the difficult ones. Recently, I had an ISP who gave me terrible service, and the internet kept dropping out every few minutes. The Hostgator smartchat expert kept contact with me on and of for about an hour and three quarters until he had worked out the answer for me. That is what I call RELIABLE service.
