Because a friend told me that hostgator was better than godaddy
I chose hostgator because I thought after researching it was the right company for me. Upon providing my business to them they dont care about me or the services that I have with them. Im just another customer who customer service treat like crap.

My site has crash or been inaccessible now 6times in as many months. They keep saying its fixed and it crashes again. I offered to pay for the SSL, but was told the free one was just fine. The hosting service has t been terrible.

Even though I've updated the PhP my site still gives me an error to update it. And for some reason I'm getting a "You Don't Have Permission to Access this page" even though I'm the only one on the account. Also, you're "Chat" is a joke. You know it's probably a chat bot and it never appears.

It takes your team too long to solve issues; I was told that renewing a simple SSL certificate was going to take 24 hours and it has taken over five days. I spoke with several representatives and that last one talk to was the one who updated the certificate; however, the issue of not having a secure website still persist after two days.

I have three sites only one up and it took over a 6 months with customer support to complete the migration to Hostgator. The second one I and my web associate spent another half year trying to get it established. It is now a year and it is still not functioning. So NO I do not think after spending literally hundreds of hours working on this, with no success even one star is to much. I could not be more upset!

Answer: If you go straight to smartchat, it is very easy - you only need to find the smartchat button. I have worked with the Internet since web browsers were invented, so I know most of the answers already. That means that when I have a problem that I can't solve, it is going to be a real stinker for HostGator support to solve - I only bring them the difficult ones. Recently, I had an ISP who gave me terrible service, and the internet kept dropping out every few minutes. The Hostgator smartchat expert kept contact with me on and of for about an hour and three quarters until he had worked out the answer for me. That is what I call RELIABLE service.
