She trouble shot a problem in one hour and eleven minutes which was hard to find causing the landing page to give a 404 error message. I have the sites and non of them reached the storage limit, but combined total was a 100% capacity. The remedy a dedicated server for $499 for the first year and $899 there after a bargain compared with the other hosting serves
Our professor thought we could have several subdomains under our one domain as we are learning how to use wordpress and so he asked us to use hostgator. However, with the new update, not everyone in our class is able to use several subdomains. Now we are all stuck with this host. While I can, my classmate next to me who bought the subscription a week later can't. Plus, we've run into some slowdowns because of host gator while trying to learn and my teacher hasn't been impressed with this service. You do seem have knowledgeable tech support, just wish I didn't need their help as often as I've had to lately.
Besides the fact that I am contacting them for a second time to resolve the same issue that they said was reviewed and was fine and have wasted half a day trying to move forward shows me there is no customer support in place to handle their clients.

If I'm being snarky, I'd say, "Good question!" lol. Seriously, shared hosting used to be unlimited. Now that Business Hosting is limited to only three add-on domains, we will be switching to a new provider. You guys changed the rules, not me.
For someone running one or a few sites to support their main business, HostGator's level of support (WordPress upgrades most especially, but relatively quick and on-point service responses too) is really helpful. The other provider I use does not do this. Maybe they send a warning email about things that are about to become obsolete and crash my site, maybe not even that. They are cheaper, but the time I spend away form my main work to fix things or get them fixed really outweighs the difference. The problems are not frequent, but they suck up time to fix.

Customer service is poor. Features are limited. Siteground is better. My interaction today with the chat was worse than speaking to a chat bot. I asked for a refund for a canceled service and the representative responded, "I'm still trying to analyze the root cause of the issue." There was no issue. This type of confusing interaction continued for 20+ minutes. I've moved all of my sites from Host Gator for issues like these and recommend my clients do the same.
I was looking for an alternative to my other hosting because they were behind in their updates. HostGator would be more appealing if I wasn't constantly bombarded with sales pitches. It's really annoying.
I've never had a worse experience with any hosting company. It won't let me upgrade the PHP without forking over more money. I'm forced to move the Wordpress site to another company and changing the nameservers is maddeningly difficult.
I have been a dedicated customer to HostGator for more than 15 years. They sold me on a shared cloud "special" that they were having. I bought in and realized that they were charging me for both plans (my original and the new cloud plan). I have tried for 2 1/2 years to get this straightened out to no avail. I keep getting told that it is in process and then it is resolved but yet nothing has been resolved. The service staff they have offshore is not capable of handling many issues. They just keep kicking the can down the road. I am about to move everything because I am so sick of this nonsense
To host my website and get the free email accounts they offer is the main reason I chose HostGator for my webhosting. It is very disappointing that they discontinued Gator.com and we are forced to either purchase a third party or use WordPress which is the most unfriendly application I have used in my 40 year experience

For me it's only been frustrating to the point that I don't even want to try anymore.
I can't afford to have a site built so I will approach other avenues to achieve my goals.

Its good customer service only for new customers (not the existing). I was not able to reach live chat after three weeks of purchasing the domain, they have put automated system says delays are occurred and will be connected to agent within 15 minutes. I lost my consecutive third attempt to reach live chat. Horrible customer service.

The issue with my account has not been resolved until now. It is already more than a month and I still cannot access my hatching plan. I am always told that the case is getting prioritised but it doesn't seem to be. I need a resolution soon otherwise refund me my money and I will bring my business to other company.
Half the time when I log in I don't receive the code on my mobile. I'm going to go look at one of my domains now. I deleted thousands of files from it two weeks ago as I was running out of space. But no space ever frered up even tho the chat person told me it would in several days. In the meantime, there can be no editing on any of my domains as there is no space. Really?
I chose hostgator because I thought after researching it was the right company for me. Upon providing my business to them they dont care about me or the services that I have with them. Im just another customer who customer service treat like crap.
Shared package. Slowness experienced when more post with photos created. Per guides shared, need to do something on C-panel (which is out of my knowledge and I don't feel comfortable to do the change on it). Is there any other way to fix this?

You've deleted my site twice by accident from customer service, increased the prices without explanation, chosen to teach your customer service to only upsell instead of fix problems and have become a pretty poor company. I can't wait to move off of this platform
The price to start is reasonable, my site loads quickly and has been up basically always, and most of the processes are seamless. I'm not looking forward to a price hike at renewal, however (we'll see), and the portal could be better organized/more user-friendly.

(1) Many years ago, some programs used to show where you were within the "tree-structure map". Like every other modern site, you fail to do this, so one easily gets lost (like looking for a street-address in an unfamiliar area, in dense.
Fog). (2) Just now I keyed in my definitely-correct password twice: It was not rejected; but there was no move forward -- just the offer of "forgotten password". Instead, I started again from scratch, and DID get through at last; but that was just one of those extra annoyances.
(3) I couldn't see how to finish this. In default, I pressed "Chat" -- but that seems to be a separate issue [which I may come back to later -- (or now if I can't escape!)]. OK I've found "SUBMIT" (out of sight below the screen).
Answer: Do not know something similar. Actually Hostgator is one of its kind! Partners of mine use Hostgator, too!
Answer: If you go straight to smartchat, it is very easy - you only need to find the smartchat button. I have worked with the Internet since web browsers were invented, so I know most of the answers already. That means that when I have a problem that I can't solve, it is going to be a real stinker for HostGator support to solve - I only bring them the difficult ones. Recently, I had an ISP who gave me terrible service, and the internet kept dropping out every few minutes. The Hostgator smartchat expert kept contact with me on and of for about an hour and three quarters until he had worked out the answer for me. That is what I call RELIABLE service.
