Mike was friendly and willing to get his hands dirty with a site that had some outdated files and discovered that then Elementor Pro was the main culprit for the site failure. He managed to get the site back up and running (though without the Elementor Pro Plugin activated). I will have to talk to Elementor but, that is their issue.

The representative left me on the phone for approximately 15 to 20 minutes while with his children in the background. He finally returned to tell me I needed to contact Eliminator Pro by email to resolve my issue! I am so frustrated with HostGator I want to eliminate the service, but I am working with different avenues in HostGator to fix the problem with my website. If you are working remotely, you should have a quite space to work with clients and you should not leave customers on the phone for extended periods of time to play with your children in the background!

After updating my plugins I developed a 'fatal error' and couldn't get into the dashboard to roll back the plugin.
I contacted customer support at Hostgator via the online chat facility and the support person, Jericho, deactivated all the plugins for me allowing me to get into the dashboard, where I was able to run the backup I completed before updating the offending plugin. All was fixed and running again.
Jericho also explained to me how to deactivate the plugins myself through the C-Panel.
I am extremely happy with the service.

I built a Wordpress site for a friend, and I suggested HostGator host his new site. I opened the account during the day and planned on uploading the site in the evening. I hadn't put a site up on HostGator in quite a while, and my experience is that each hosting firm does things a bit differently. So, I usually find it quicker, easier, and less frustrating if I call and have a tech support person walk me through the install. Unfortunately, on this particular evening, HostGator tech support was having problems with their phone system, and it took me several calls to finally get a tech on the phone, a gentleman named Dami. He was great. We got Wordpress installed, found their was a DNS issue I would have to resolve before I could upload my friend's site, which I sort of anticipated might happen, and Dami explained what I would need to do from there. Very friendly, very professional, and he has a great sense of humor. One thing the manager of tech support could have done regarding the phone issue was have the auto-attendant, when it picked up the call, mention the phone issues and apologize in advance for any problems the customer might encounter. Basically, acknowledge the problem and prepare the customer. When people are forewarned and informed, they tend to get less frustrated and angry. If the auto-attendant could not be used for this, then as soon as a tech answered a call they could have mentioned the possibility of phone trouble. Again, inform the customer and they'll feel less frustrated if something happens. Otherwise, the price for hosting was very fair and Dami the tech was great. The phone issue could have been handled a bit better. 4 stars instead of 5 because of the phones. Oh, almost forgot. The poor AI auto-attendant's "hearing" is not very good when it comes to detecting the difference between the letter p, the letter t, and the letter d. When the auto-attendant asked for my email address for security purposes, I had to repeat the address numerous times, very slowly and very deliberately before the poor AI could understand the letters I was saying. Kind of funny now. Not so much when it happened. We're still a long way from AI communicating like the talking computer on Star Trek.
