For a company that claims to have military appreciation I am beyond disgusted with their customer service and their belittling of me when I asked for them to remove a late payment because I was deployed and my auto pay wasn't set up properly. The supervisor I spoke to told me I should stop seeking special treatment because of my military service.

Done with Honda
June 23, 2020

I have two Honda's. My last payment on my accord this month June 2020. I missed one payment on 2O18 civic. I have never been late on a payment before on anything. With the whole pandemic thing and then my mom gets cancer. I'm dealing with all this stuff I'm human. I just forgot. I never got a call or email nothing to let me know I has missed it. Then when I realized I did I paid it immediately and the next payment too. They refused to remove it from my credit report. I explained the situation to them. They seen I had a good history. Y credit score was in the 800s when I bought the car. They refused to remove it. I'm done with Honda. I will never buy a Honda again. Don't be fooled buy the commercials the helpful Honda people. They are anything but. In 35 years I have never had a late payment on anything and now this one late payment is dropping my credit score. Hopefully it won't hurt it to much. Don't deal with Honda they are awful.

I paid off my lease and asked for the title to be overnighted. They agreed it would be sent that day, it wasn't. Called the following day, they said it will be sent that day, it wasn't. I called the following day, same thing… I called a 4th and 5th time and they cannot get a manager to contact me nor get the title sent. I will never in my life own or finance anything Honda.

July 21, 2020

I WISH I CAN GIVE A MINUS STAR. THIS IS THE WORST COMPANY EVER. I AM TRYING TO GET A LEASE ASSUMPTION DONE OVER 2 AND HALF MONTHS AGO. THE PERSON HAS BEEN APPROVED SINCE THE END OF MAY AND UNTIL TODAY THIS PROCESS CANNOT FINISH. I HAVE BEEN CALLING ALMOST EVERY DAY AND IT'S A DIFFERENT STORY EVERY TIME. THESE PEOPLE ONLY CARED ABOUT GETTING THEIR MONEY NO REGARDS FOR THEIR CUSTOMERS. NO ONE EVER RETURN YOUR CALLS. THIS IS MY LAST TIME WITH THIS COMPANY. THEY ARE RIDICULOUS!

Returning vehicle fees
December 16, 2019

After leasing several vehicles through Honda Financial Services, when it was time to turn in my vehicle I went with another brand.
Four leases later I returned my Honda Civic and was told there is a fee. I requested they wave it since the vehicle was way under mileage and had a full tank of gas. They reviewed my account... so after making all payments on time because I disputed the return policy, I paid the amount due. I had no idea they would regard that as a LATE payment and it went on my credit report.
Regardless, of the fact that all other payments for years were made on all my leases they marked my account as late.
Trying to get my account cleared for that infraction is now a nightmare...
I WILL NEVER AGAIN LEASE OR PURCHASE ANOTHER HONDA!
DON'T DEAL WITH THESE PEOPLE IT ISN'T A GOOD EXPERIENCE!

Their website is a problematic nightmare. Constantly making you change your
Information and password to where I don't even know whats up anymore. What is this, Fort Knox?
When "Re-registering" which i have done three times this year, they force you to give them a new email... I don't have any other email addresses!?!?! I'm out...
You can't get them by phone - EVERYTHING WITH THEM IS THE RUNAROUND... AROUND AND AROUND ON THE PHONE - AROUND AND AROUND ON THE SITE...
And don't get me started on the Sales person who sold me the car to begin with. They do not look out for you AT ALL. Its all about them. Nothing about you. They are professional at what they do - They make money - Customers are treated like a number. Run - Just run and don't look back.
I can't even pay my car payment online or by phone - The hours I have spent jacking with their systems
Is unbelievable... Who's running this thing anyway?

After purchasing a 45.000.00 certified used Acura mdx from them a f paying off the car after 60 months necessary they didnt even have the decency to send me a title for the proof of clean title and instead told me to go to the dmv and purchase one, I bought a car from them 10 years ago also and they like other dealerships used to do this, I had to now due to covid schedule a appt that took 3 weeks an a day off work to also pay 20.00 to the dmv that was surprised they never sent me 1 and is now sending me what they call a duplicate. NEVER again will I purchase a vehicle from these crabs

Lots of long hold times, lost checks and paperwork are only part of the problem with Honda Financial Services. My credit union and I have been trying to buy out my lease since the end of Jan and just today after my 22nd phone call I have achieved the impossible. My title is finally being sent to my credit union.
Honda lost my bank's check twice (even with confirmed FEDEX delivery) and only after an EFT with multiple calls did they magically find the check. Then I had to work with the title release division who lost my odometer disclosure 5 times and only confirmed receipt when I faxed and emailed it on the 6th attempt. Moreover, wait times averaged nearly an hour while my personal record was 1 hour and 57 minutes on hold. Final insult was when I asked to speak to a manager to help resolve the issue and was told point blank, "NO." The agent would only put in a request for a manager to call back in a day or two, maybe. Do yourself a favor and shop elsewhere if you have good credit and value your sanity.

Paying off my auto loan and getting Honda Financial Services (HFS) to release its lien is worst than pulling teeth. I sent a bank cashier's check to HFS to pay off my loan in full and get the Title to the vehicle. After one week and several phone calls, I finally got someone to confirm that my check had been received. To date, the lien on my vehicle has not been releases. The most frustrating experience is that:

1. None of the HFS staff I spoke with could tell me when the lien on my vehicle would be released. They told me my payment and lien release was being processed in Philadelphia.

2. When I asked for a phone number at the Philadelphia office where my check was held up, I was told that office does not accept calls from customers

3. When I asked to speak with a Supervisor, the HFS staff told me there was no Supervisor I can talk to.

To date, HFS has received full payment for what I owe on the vehicle. However, they would not release the lien on the vehicle. This is the worst experience I have ever had as a customer.

Never had as horrible experience with a car financing company as i did with Honda Financial. I am an Illinois resident and bought a Honda Civic in Arizona. Both the dealership( Surprise Honda) and Honda Financial have given me incorrect, inadequate information as to how to apply for Illinois plates. The wait times for customer service at Honda Financial were never less that 45 minutes, at which time calls got dropper and i needed to start all over with another 45 minute wait. When finally getting through, the person would give me WRONG INFORMATION and i would wait for them to send me something in the mail that would take a week and then it would be A USELESS DOCUMENT and not what I needed to get the plates. The dealership was just as clueless and never steered us in the right direction. After spending 6 weeks trying to get the right info, i am now about to have the temporary plates expire! HORRIBLE EXPETIENCE!

Stay away from Honda Financial Services. If you want to finance a car do not use Honda Financial services. If your car has equity and you are little late on payment like few days over one month only and not later than that they will do their best to repossess your car knowing they will make more money if they repossess it and take it away from you. Worst part about it is when you become current again and they were not able to repossess it they will still charge you for unethical tons of money for being late only for few days. Recommendation! If you already have them try to refinance with more ethical financial institutions. Stay away. Watch out if you are 40 days late because they will come and repossess it. I would understand if they want to do it when you are at least 60 days late but they do it much sooner. Also when you are 5 days late expect a call at 8:00 AM in the morning and much later toward the afternoon every single day. They make your life miserable and too much stress I almost had a heart attack

Horrible company. I talk to two different people one on the 11th and one on the 20th was told to make a payment by 25th and they would put a payment in the back well on the 18th I made the payment and called and was told to call back when payment post which usually takes 3 business days so I call on 25th and then was told they couldn't do it asked for a manager to call and the woman had the audacity to call my husband a liar and then tried to say the same to me. She had my blood pressure so high we ended up hanging up! They are the ones who lied and where does a manager to a big company think she can call us a liar. They recorded calls maybe they should listen to the calls I had on the 11th and 20th and hear for them selves! That woman has no right to talk to customers! Honda you need to do better! Highly disappointed with your company and how you treat your customers!

The true frustration emerged when I leased my Honda CRV from California in December 2020. At that time, I opted for a Honda Care Vehicle service, which cost $1295. However, within 20 days, I changed my mind and promptly contacted the Honda dealership to cancel the service. They confirmed the cancellation and sent me a letter as proof.

Despite this, a few months later, I noticed that I was still being charged for monthly care services. Upon calling the dealership, they assured me that they were working on resolving the issue. However, reaching a resolution proved to be a time-consuming process, and despite their assurances, the charges persisted. They claimed the total amount would be applied to my balance at the end of the lease.

This situation was particularly frustrating as the charge was not for a security deposit or a car payment, but for a Honda Care service contract that I had explicitly rejected. And I don't know if they have the right to hold my money for three years. It felt akin to dealing with a financial institution that not only took my money but also imposed additional charges, resembling interest. After three years of leasing, I purchased the vehicle and completed all the necessary paperwork.

Upon requesting a refund for the amount paid to Honda Care or an adjusted balance, I encountered further challenges and received subpar service. Eventually, they sent a check, but to my dismay, they deducted $181.82. This included $84.3 for property tax, citing my move to Texas, and an undisclosed amount for reasons unknown to me.

I am compelled to consult with my legal adviser regarding these discrepancies. It is disheartening to realize that I paid for services I never received, coupled with unwarranted taxes and hidden costs. This experience highlights a flawed and corrupted system that urgently requires rectification.

I am very displeased and unhappy with this Finance Company and their payment processing. Not quite sure what's going on with them! I am very anal in paying my bills: "on time" each month to avoid late fees and or bad credit, but for the last 5 to 6 months I have been having to wait 11 to 22 days for my monthly payment's to process and my check to clear the bank! (THIS IS NOT COVID RELATED OR THEY WOULD HAVE SAID SO) When I call them to check on it, they tell me its because of the mail! REALLY? I don't think so! If your thinking of using Honda Financial or if you don't get a choice, then you might wanna just go ahead and sign up for online paying because that is what they are forcing me to do... This Is Not Good Costumer Service, and I don't appreciate being forced to pay my bill their way.

Believe me, if you need a car you're better off without one if you have only this choice! All of the reviews on this page that have two stars or less, are right on point! My car was repossessed with only three months left to pay it off. I was within my time frame to keep the car however, somehow, strangely enough, the check went to a third party bank, named Wells Fargo. An HFS employee supervisor, claimed they would try and retrieve the funds from Wells Fargo, but why would they retrieve the funds from Wells Fargo if they don't have any ties with them? They planned on allowing me to have my car back while they investigate the matter, but They told me that if they can't acquire the funds from them, then I would be responsible and then they would repo my car once again if I don't make the payment. I spent an entire day on the phone with Honda Financial and with one particular supervisor by the name of Diana who had tried to twist information around (a tactic used to confuse the consumer) but she didn't confuse me. And when it didn't work she hung the phone on me. When I called back to get the contact info for the CEO they said they couldn't give it out that they could only give out the customer relations number (which btw, reroutes you back to HFS!) So they have the system set up that you are unable to make a complaint allowing the employees to treat you any way they want! Because I had a second employee do the same thing. She started off helpful but then when I caught her in a lie she got defensive and hung up on me as well. I too am looking toward a lawsuit as this company wreaks of something foul!

I have been with HFS for TWENTY years. I had purchased two vehicles and leased 5! During the COVID-19 crisis, I was recently late on a payment. In TWENTY years, I had NEVER been late on a payment, and yet, they were totally unforgiving. I was 30 days late and they immediately reported it to Experian. They were totally unforgiving. They state on their website that they are there to help customers who are facing hardship through COVID-10, but apparently not customers who have been making business with them this long!

They sent the "skip a pay" letter for hardship over and over to the wrong address and e-mail for me to sign and return. Honda tried to tell me that they were sending it to the correct address my house address/ billing address and they would report my "Not Pay"to the credit bureaus. Honda accused me of giving them the wrong info and telling me I don't live where I live. RELLY? They lied and said that all letters were returned after they sent the "Skip a Pay" one day ago to the correct house address, which they had since I moved and bought the house over 2 years ago. ONE HAND DOESN'T KNOW WHAT THE OTHER DOES OVER AT HONDA FINANCIAL. Very sad to say.

Awful service
July 20, 2021

I contacted *******555 for Honda Financial on 7/19/2021 and was on hold for a person for 40 minutes which is unacceptable! Then when I finally got a hold of a person, his name was Jason and was not helpful at all and was a smart $#*!! I do not think that it is appropriate to say to anyone well you know more information about this then I do. I find that even more unacceptable and unprofessional! Then when I asked for a supervisor or managers phone number he said he does not know. Eventually I was transferred and it said another 30 minute wait! Are you kidding me! I should not have to wait to speak to a manager or supervisor I should have one on the phone ASAP! What poor customer service. I do not care if you have been working from home because of COVID, that is not an excuse. I have been working on the frontline since the beginning and I have been offering better customer service then this! Then I write an email and it has been over 24 hours and still no one has reached out. AGAIN UNACCEPTABLE! I come from a family of people who buy Hondas and I have personally have had 5 myself. This is shameful. You do not even deserve a 1 star but I have to for review purposes.
