Bogus Site - Corrupt
August 13, 2019

Posted a negative review based on our experience with a fence company that worked on our property. They removed it because the owner complained, and we did not have proof of purchase (because it was paid for by the neighbors). Because of this fact there was a portion left unfinished on our property.

Even though we showed Homestars a picture of the completed and uncompleted work, as well as text messages to and from the owner about completion, Homestars would not accept this.

It has been about a month since the company came back and worked on our property to fix this issue, but my review is still "pending moderation". This is even though I have emailed them to have it taken down because the work got finished!

Now I am stuck with an account for this dumb site because they wont let you delete your account.

Homestars will say "if you do not pay for the service you cant review them". Even though they worked on our property, and I felt people should be aware of the issues we had.

If they came over and tore up our lawn and broke things could I give them a review then? What if it was a good review? Would they ask for proof then?

Homestars, deletes bad reviews for the ones that pay to be on their site, and strong arm those that don't pay by altering their reviews.

Do not use, very corrupt, stick to google reviews. If you're a business owner, do NOT put your company on here because you will be on here for life, and you will be forced to pay to get good reviews.

The furnace guy had a perfect 10 score with glowing reviews. He overcharged us and didn't even know what he was doing. I couldn't wait to get him out of the house.

My two car wooden garage was continually being invaded by squirrels. After many years of paying Pest Control to insert trap doors and wire screening followed by my having to clean up the squirrel mess and repair/replace the damaged wood, I decided to do something to keep the squirrels out permanently.

I studied three possible options for siding (fiber cement, galvanized steel and aluminum) and opted for 53 gauge aluminum siding and hired AIMG inc to do the job

The project included the removal of an exterior damaged wall, the repair/replacement of a chewed stud, the installation of plywood on 4 exterior walls and on part of an interior wall, the installation of 53 gauge aluminum siding on the four exterior walls, the installation of soffit, fascia, eaves, downpipes, leaf guards and a new exterior light.

I am very pleased with the end result... my garage looks like new now.

Yuri proved to be very professional, punctual, reliable and honest. Tending to every detail, he delivered all that he promised and more. His carpenters, installers and electrician all did an excellent job. Also I thought that the price I was charged for this project was quite reasonable.

I highly recommend AIMG inc and give it a 5 star rating.

I was referred to Rafael Lopez from www.homebuild-sa.com to finish my basement. I contacted him and within 20 minutes he contacted me to set up an appointment to review the job. I met him the following week and the next day he provided me with a detailed scope breaking down all the work and material and total cost. The scope of work was detailed in a word document including scheduled payments and a receipt page where all scheduled payments were written and signed by Rafael. He told me the job would take 3 weeks and thats exactly the time it took to complete. Quality of work was absolutely amazing. After each day, all dust and debris was cleaned up so there was no mess. His helper Eliezer is a young man who is a conscientious, hard worker, loyal and dependable. Both Rafael and Eliezer were at my home every day by 8:15 as they said they would be. I live in Burlington and they drove from Scarborough every day.

If you are looking for a reliable, honest, dependable contractor that does superior work, then you should contact Rafael at *******359. You will NOT regret your decision to go with this contractor.

I signed up with this platform a month ago, very very very poor customer service, when Ineed assistance there is never anyone available and all the leads they send me are not in the area I asked for.

I am one of the companies that has been reviewed by Home Stars customers I have no conflict of interest and only have the highest praise for what they have accomplished and also saved many that would have experienced a bad job, but decided to believe their very fair and well documented input, saving that customer a horriblke experience.As the owner of KITCHEN DESIGNERS PLUS I can say without any reservation that they are masters in protecting the good ones and weeding out the bad ones.

I have been an employee at HomeStars for nearly half a decade and the company is extremely poor with its internal functionality. For a company that claims to be a "startup" even after being in the business for more than a decade just to nullify their internal errors when it comes to constant delays with product launches and something as poor as paying their employees the right amount at the right time. Of the 24 pay periods in a year, at least 10 pay periods have errors in missing out partial payments to employees including base pay. It is impossible to run your personal expenses while working at Homestars at a deadline especially during these tough times as the paid amount is almost never equal to the accurate to be paid amount. TERRIBLE EXPERIENCE AS AN EMPLOYEE HERSELF!

They present their website as a place for people to leave comments and rate contractors, but what people don't understand is they completely manipulate those ratings by deleting negative reviews for their subscribers, and would you believe even deleting POSITIVE reviews of contractors who DONT SUBSCRIBE TO THEIR SERVICE! So they will call you harassing you to pay the $450 a month to be "verified" and if you don't they start harassing customers who left positive reviews on your company to email them invoices and pictures to prove that they did work for you. Avoid this website and trust google reviews only, if anything.

If you are looking for a real tradesperson, why would you look at homestars, their clients have to pay to become members to get reviews, seems kinda skeptical, if youbdont pay homestars their fee, there are no reviews for your company, I have gotten so tired of homestars trying to get me to pay their fee, dontbtrust this service, they only promote companies that pay for them to list it, kind of scammie, don't trust pages like this, check out Google, and do your dd, homestsrs is a paid platform, they don't care about you, only their bottom line, don't be fooled, if a contractor is paying for reviews that should be a red flag

I'm a contractor that worked diligently for four years with HomeStars collecting reviews, all of which were positive, I have a friend who is also a contractor, he told me he was upset that he had been given a negative review, two days later said negative review was removed, he paid to have this removed, I left HomeStars the next day

Well let's see I was promised 3 leads a week I have signed a contract and I had a crazy customer that posted a bad review and said it was my company that did the work and the customer said he paid 2500. Which was bull $#*!. I only installed 1 zone and I have pictures to prove before and after and the invoice I sent it to home Stars and they can't do nothing. Well I give up no leads, no work but their payment comes out every month.

DO YOUR SELF A FAVOUR AND STAY AWAY FROM THIS SITE THEY ARE SCAMS

Homestars is a Scam

Homestars is a Scam website, Please never waste your money there, they ripp you off anyway they can,
First, they push you into agreement for one year, which you can't cancel it within a year, they will Lock you into a agreement, unless you cancel your Credit card so they can't take money from your credit card.and you will start paying $200 a month for getting leads, which you never receive a leads, or a good leads. All lie, then they won't publish your reviews from your customers, unless you pay more after a few years, So they will increase your monthly payment as you are trying to build your credit in Homestars, SO YOU ARE LOCKED, you can't cancel the agreement because they will tell you that you will loose all of your credit there made by your customers. That was my experience, now they start calling every contractor they left them to go back, they are just thief, and what they do is fraud, they all must go to jail.
If you want to build you credit do it in google or any where else,

HomeStars (HS)advertise me during 4 years through publishing the reviews of my clients. During this time I have 128 positive reviews with 10 out of 10 score and 3 times was the Best of the Year. Unfortunately the last review was not as high. After the conversation with the client we found common ground and the review was removed. After this HS put the warning red frame with ambiguous comments: "... We also keep these flags up to alert those considering hiring the company Sometimes a homeowner feels compelled to remove their review due to negative encouragement by the company. In these cases, the user does not feel comfortable keeping their review posted and will ask us to remove it. While we do remove the review, the impact of the user's review is still taken into consideration..."These comments were posted without any contacts with me or client ( I ask the client). The words of HS create the impression that my company is not trustworthy and I am bulling the client ( both is not true). Anybody who reads this comments would stay away from my company.
Two times I contacted HS asking for explanations with no responses.It looks like instead of helping to good contractors to run there business the HS in certain situations is ruining there reputation.

We have an agreement with Reliance Home Comfort Protection Plan 24-hour since 2007. They are committed to providing outstanding furnace heating and cooling, repair and maintenance, Ecobee smart thermostat wiring furnace, and a hot water tank service. Their goal is the same as ours: to get the heat or cooling turned back on fast. First I talked to a very knowledgeable representative at Ecobee, similar to the Nest thermostat. The problem. We could not get the fan started without having the heat on. We had a missing wire going from the furnace to the thermostat upstairs. I immediately booked my appointment with Reliance under my home comfort protection plan to do a scheduled repair the next day. Resolution completed. John from Reliance was very knowledgeable and removed the fast-stat and installed a new 5 wire from the smart Ecobee thermostat upstairs to the furnace in the basement. He did not hesitate to call a co-worker to discuss the diagram of the Ecobee smart thermostat which I like to see because it tells me that the rep cares to fix the problem. He diligently disconnected the thermostat, removed the baseboard in the dining room to create hidden access to run the new wire from the main floor to the furnace in the utility basement. He did a clean job! So nothing a little silicone on the trim can't fix. The fan is now running and we programmed it for 30 minutes an hour. I'm 100% satisfied with the service they provided. We didn't think of hiring painters at first because we thought we could do the job ourselves. After hiring Wagg's, we're so glad we didn't do the job ourselves. Wagg's painters did an incredibly professional job. The result was magazine-worthy. They did everything from help select colours and paint-types to clean up.
They were also incredibly fast. If we had chosen to do it ourselves, it would have taken us weeks and we would have never been able to do the job as well as they did.
They also brought an impressive amount of materials, tools and equipment for the job. And we didn't give them an easy task. They had to do ceilings and walls, at times over stairways. They simply did it, efficiently, quickly and professionally.
The last thing we worried about was the price. But, taking into account the equipment and hours it would have taken us, they were very reasonably priced. Definitely a worth-while purchase. So much so that we hired them again for another painting job, decided to do this review and will hire them again for another job.
If you are considering painting an area of your home, we would highly recommend this team. Save yourself the headaches, the time and the mistakes and get this team do a very professional job

Does not get any worse than this. Stay away. They do not do a background check on a business negative review before posting it to the account.
They make you pay for an account to give you positive reviews.
They do not advise a Canadian Business of the negative review they post.
That can hurt Canadian Businesses!
The CEO of Home Stars.ca comments are "If businesses hate us we are doing a great job" I don't think I need to saying anything more.

I have negative reviews on my business profile. I had brought to their attention ( this is going on for years) that these are not true nor are they my customers.

They told me they are not removing them and they have been checked. They ignore me.

I went to BBB to put the complaint in.

They finally removed some of them and sent me an email saying yes they were posted to the wrong account they made a mistake.
But they will not do anything about the old ones. I have been asking them to look into. BBB did there job. What I should have done is gone to them when this all started to get these reviews removed.

Don't trust them. Don't trust the negative reviews on a Business account seek other places to see if the Business is doing a good job.

They are a U. S company ruining the Canadian Businesses.
