The company has established a reputation for providing a user-friendly online auction platform, with many customers appreciating the ease of bidding and tracking items. Positive feedback highlights the quality of products and efficient transaction processes. However, significant concerns arise regarding website performance, excessive shipping charges, and insufficient customer support, particularly in resolving issues related to missing items and unclear invoicing. Overall, while the platform is favored for its convenience and product variety, improvements in customer service responsiveness and transparency in seller charges are necessary to enhance the overall customer experience.

It's been a good experience overall. This particular auction had things I am interested in.
Lately when I go to hit bid now my screen went blank and I had to reload the page. Almost like it can't handle the workload. I lost 2 items that I would have payed a lot more for but lost the screen while bidding which caused me to lose the items. Very upsetting.
Easy sign on.
Easy browsing.
Could use a little more item detail.
Easy bidding.
The HiBid system: slow to process bids, especially live auctions //no feedback mechanism for buyers to leave sellers feedback//inconsistent auction rules with some sellers being downright deceptive//inability to filter out international auctions//most recently I cannot login//I've lost auctions and money due to the disfunction of the app and system.
Thank you for sharing your experience, Steve. We’re genuinely sorry to hear about the technical issues and frustrations you’ve encountered.
For mobile bidding, if you’ve found the app unreliable, we recommend trying a mobile browser like Chrome or Safari instead. Many users find the web version provides a more stable experience, especially during live auctions.
Regarding your other concerns—such as inconsistent auction rules and the lack of a buyer feedback system—we truly appreciate your input. HiBid partners with independent auctioneers and resellers, each of whom set their own terms and conditions. We know this can sometimes create varied experiences, and your feedback helps highlight areas where improvements can be made.
If you're still having trouble logging in or need assistance with past auctions, please reach out to our support team at (844) 775-4774. We’re here to help and want to make sure you have the best possible experience going forward.
Extremely organized, professional, courteous, and most importantly- respectfully!
If these people are a part of your company, they are not honest. They sold my antique items and I never received a penny from them.We are on a fixed income and this hurt us badly. Please do not do business with them.
Thank you for bringing this to our attention, Lisa. We’re truly sorry to hear about your experience.
HiBid is a platform used by independent auctioneers and resellers, and while we don’t handle the sale transactions directly, we take situations like this very seriously. If you haven’t already, we strongly encourage you to reach out to our support team at (844) 775-4774 so we can document your concerns and follow up with the auctioneer involved.
Your trust and well-being matter to us, and we appreciate you sharing your experience so we can work to ensure a safe and fair environment for all participants.
Some auction companies are just great. I have had 2 that were just crooks. Like Key Date Coins. Paid for coins then they wanted to cancel my order. Took 2 months before I received them. Other than that it has been great!
I have every grandchild looking for rocks since they could walk. They love the auctions so much
Hi i won a few bids in one auction where i spent $200 bill, then i went to thier location and did not get one of my items, the most expensive item for $60 plus taxes and fees, because it was double bid. It was put up for auction twice and they told me the other winner in another auction picked up the other item first. I did not receive it and emailed them for a refund and still do not have a reply. The items i did receive one was broken earrings but was not in the bid description that it was broken. I just want my money back for something i did not get.
Thank you for sharing your experience, Poppy. We're sorry to hear about the issue with your missing item and the condition of the items you did receive.
While each auction is independently managed by the seller or auctioneer, items can sometimes appear in multiple events or listings depending on how the inventory is managed. However, we understand how disappointing it is to win an item and then not receive it—especially without timely communication or resolution.
We recommend continuing to follow up directly with the seller, and if you don’t receive a response soon, please contact our support team at (844) 775-4774. We’ll be happy to reach out to them on your behalf and help escalate the matter.
Thank you again for bringing this to our attention—we want all bidders to feel confident and supported when using the platform.
Not timely, system glitches, obvious reserves on merchandise, multiple visits to review the auction sites, extra mileage to retrieve merchandise!
Thank you for your feedback, Dana. We're sorry to hear that your experience didn’t meet expectations.
We understand how frustrating system glitches, reserve prices, and travel for pickups can be. Since HiBid works with independent auctioneers and resellers, each auction may have different locations, pickup terms, and reserve settings. We always recommend reviewing the auction’s terms before bidding, but we know the extra effort involved can sometimes be discouraging.
If you experienced specific technical issues or need assistance with finding auctions that better fit your preferences (like shipping options or closer locations), feel free to reach out to our support team at (844) 775-4774. We’re here to help make your bidding experience smoother.
Thank you again for sharing your thoughts.
I purchased an item for $11, post purchase I am informed that my shipping is $60, but I found the measurement metrics on ebay from other sellers, amazon, walmart and various other resources to come to $35 max for the same exact item. The seller is saying the weight is 5lbs over what I know the item to weigh which adds the addtl $30. Why? You would benefit from requiring them to identify via a shipment tool that gives a good estimated cost pre bidding.
Thank you for your feedback, Pita. We understand how frustrating unexpected shipping costs can be, especially when they seem higher than what you’ve found elsewhere.
Since HiBid works with independent auctioneers and resellers, each seller handles their own shipping and fees, which can vary based on packaging, handling, and service choices. However, we agree that more transparency upfront would help buyers make informed decisions before bidding.
We appreciate your suggestion about a shipping estimate tool—this is valuable input we’ll share with our team. In the meantime, we recommend reaching out to sellers directly before bidding if you have questions about shipping costs or policies. If you need help contacting the seller or feel the charges remain unreasonable, our support team is available at (844) 775-4774.
Thank you again for taking the time to share your experience.
I enjoyed the experience. It was my first time, so I'm not sure if they will contact me with a list of the items that I won and when they will be available for pick up
I used HiBid to bid on a public auction two states over from me. I was able to bid on all the items in real time, received regular updates, and the closing process was incredibly quick and efficient with no unwanted surprises. I plan to use again in the near future.
When trying to bid up items 130 and 131, it locked up/ froze. I had to exit he site completely and re-enter twice before I was able to participate. I would have bid quite a bit higher than the closing bids for both items.
Thank you for sharing your experience, Roy. We're sorry to hear the system froze during such a critical time—that's definitely frustrating, especially when you're ready to place higher bids.
For live bidding, if you were on a mobile device, we recommend using a browser like Chrome or Safari for added stability. Many users find the mobile web version performs more reliably during fast-paced auctions compared to the app.
If you continue experiencing issues or need help navigating future sales, please reach out to our support team at (844) 775-4774. We appreciate your feedback and will share it with our team to help improve the overall bidding experience.
Very nice Snap On tool auction that went very well, win some lose some.
The website functions as it should most of the time, the app however is incredibly frustrating and crashes constantly which resets all search parameters ect
The only issue I had was no notification of being out bid, or history of bidding. I think %18 on top of winning bid is a little salty.
Hi Thomas, thank you for sharing your thoughts, and we appreciate you being part of the HiBid community—even if this review goes back a bit! Since last August, we’ve enhanced notifications and bidding histories across the platform, though some features can still vary depending on the individual auction company.
As for the 18% buyer’s premium, that rate is set by each auctioneer. We always recommend checking the terms before bidding, as premiums can differ between sales.
If you decide to jump back in and need any help navigating the platform, we’re here for you!
Missed bidding on two items during live auction, this happened too others per the auctioneer.
Hi W. P., thank you for your feedback, and we’re sorry to hear you experienced site issues during the live auction back in August. We understand how frustrating it is to miss out on items—especially when the issue affects multiple bidders. Since then, we’ve made a number of platform updates aimed at improving system stability and performance during high-traffic events. If you ever encounter a similar issue in the future, please don’t hesitate to contact our support team at 844-775-4774 so we can assist right away.
Answer: Licensed auctioneer here- auction law is that if you give notice that you need to retract your bid before the hammer falls (or the auction ends online) that the auctioneer is required to retract the bid. Actual law also dictates that bidding must start over at opening bid, not the next highest bid.
Answer: Very easy. If you dont get someone immediately they do call back. But once again if you have a problem with items contact the auction house not hibid. Hibid doesn't auction they only provide the platform
Answer: Most auctioneer there are scammers, a thrift store would be better option.
Answer: YES! Confirmed by an auctioneer I know. Hibid auctioneers can see your "maximum bid" and in most states it's legal to "shill" an auction or to bid against the public bidders - to "ensure reasonable sale prices" per national auctioneers associations. Also, anyone can set up an identity and bid against you. Although that may get interesting when they have to pay a commission to "buy" their own item!
Answer: "Mechanically challenged" is often a term auctioneers use to indicate that an item might not be functioning properly. It usually means that the piece needs repairs, doesn't operate as intended, or may have some technical issues. It's best to reach out to the seller for a clearer explanation to avoid any surprises. By confirming the exact condition directly with them, you'll have a better understanding of what you're bidding on.
Answer: Yes, if you suspect any fraud, please contact HiBid directly at 844-775-4774. Our team is here to assist you and ensure a safe and secure experience.
Answer: Some auctioneers require credit card verification as part of the bidder registration process. This process involves a temporary authorization charge of $1.00 to ensure the card is valid. In some cases, additional processing fees or taxes might cause the amount to appear slightly higher, such as $1.46. Please rest assured that this is not an actual charge but rather a temporary hold that will be released by your card issuer. Typically, these holds clear within 5-7 business days, depending on your financial institution. If the charge doesn't disappear after this time, we recommend contacting your credit card provider for further assistance.
Answer: Thank you for reaching out regarding your bidder rating and the reasons behind it. Bidder ratings on HiBid are determined by various factors, such as your bidding activity and whether you've been permanently approved or declined by auction companies in the past. Unfortunately, HiBid support and bidders themselves cannot view or access these ratings or the specific reasons behind them, as this information is exclusively available to auctioneers. The best way to gain insight is to contact an auctioneer you have a good relationship with or one whose auctions you'd like to participate in. They may be able to provide some clarity or work with you to address any concerns.
Answer: Thank you for reaching out! We understand how it can be confusing when an item is removed before an auction ends, but please rest assured it's not a scam. Sometimes auctioneers encounter unforeseen issues and may need to cancel or relist items. Keep in mind that auctioneers often work with consignors to ensure items are sold fairly, which can involve reserve prices or other considerations that may or may not be visible on specific listings. We recommend reaching out to the auctioneer directly for more details. If you have any difficulty reaching them, we're here to help facilitate communication.
Answer: Yes, HiBid regularly features a wide selection of motorcycles available for auction.
Hi Samuel, thanks for your feedback, and we’re sorry you ran into issues while bidding. Since August, we’ve made several performance enhancements to improve stability, especially on mobile. We hope you’ve noticed smoother bidding experiences since then, but if you ever need assistance, our support team is here to help!
