I have used Hibid's Ontario site, successfully and satisfactorily, for over 2 years. Unfortunately Hibid's new search format keeps reverting back to USA auctions after one Ontario lot category has been accessed. I did talk to a Hibid rep on this persistent issue. Unfortunately, I have had to discontinue using Hibid and resort to checking known Ontario auction sites independently. This has obvious limitations, however, it is the only way for me to search restrictedly and successfully for only Ontario auctions. Hopefully, this is just a soon to be resolved technical glitch in Hibid's new search format.
UPDATE: I am now finding HIbids site easier to use. I think this may be due to a refinement of their format and my becoming better acquainted with it. Thank you Hibid for reaching out to me.

I've been the winner in other online sites in the past only to be told later that the bidding wasn't final and I didn't win despite the green "You won!". None of that horseplay here. Great experience. I highly recommend this site.

Live auction runs slow on the cell phone, so hard to keep up with bidding. Need to be on a computer for faster updates as everytime there is a ping sound it starts over on the upload/refresh. Cannot see anything on the cell phone other than your bids or watch lists.

This seller often has multiple quantities with condition ranging from Rough - Good - Excellent. The photos of the actual item does not provide enough detail to show why one is Rough, another is Good and almost identical one is Excellent. Not sure what HiBid charges the auctioneer, but fees are becoming so high that I am becoming cost prohibitive to participate in online auctions. However, HiBid does have an easy process and is convenient.

First time bidding very easy online and picking up items
Answer: Licensed auctioneer here- auction law is that if you give notice that you need to retract your bid before the hammer falls (or the auction ends online) that the auctioneer is required to retract the bid. Actual law also dictates that bidding must start over at opening bid, not the next highest bid.
