Do not purchase from them! I found plastic in one of my bag of herbs! This is a choking hazard! I could have died because of this company. The quality is extremely poor, and the customer service is horrible. It's a reason why they are so cheap.

Purchased pink roses specifically for the visual it would add to my product. They came a muted (rather faded) brown. Useless. The offered to accept the return (at my shipping expense). That is a flipping joke because the shipping is more that the cost of the product.
Their products are usually good but the shipping is absurd. I accept it due to my business but there are now very competent competitors with similar costs and more reasonable shipping (in the same state).

As far as the pink rose petals, each harvest of product is different and no batch will be identical in color. The shade of pink may vary but will not be a brown color. I wish I had read reviews. Simply, I ordered Cinnamon Sticks. They have no taste or smell. Must be old. The Decaf coffee smelled of detergent and when I sent a sample back to them I heard nothing back. Star Anise seemed fresh so I gave one star. I am a real first time customer and last.

10 minutes after placing an order I wanted to cancel. I was told my order was already processed and that there was no way to stop it. My account page said it had not been processed. This company doesn't care about keeping customers they are not willing make things right--customer service is poor at best. The reason for the cancellation of order was I found product elsewhere for much more reasonable shipping cost. Search elsewhere before using this company

I ordered a few different herbs. I have been getting oatstraw and red clover at my local co-op, which are very good quality. Since I am using so much, I decided to order a larger amount from Monterey Bay Spice to save money. The oatstraw has a old musty taste to it, compared to a sweet oaty flavor from the co-op and the red clover is brown and bitter compared to green and fresher taste from our coop. I will not be ordering from them again.

I wish I read these reviews before I placed my order. I too right after ordering needed to change something and they completely refused. Horrible company to work with. Find another company to buy from. There are many other businesses that are willing to work with you on fixing your order. Even if I refuse the shipment at the door, it cost me double shipping. Chalk it up to a lesson learned. Read reviews on a company before you do business with them. If I could I would give them 0 stars. Customer service people. Your losing out on repeat customers.

I placed a large order ($292) at 10:00 at night, realized that I wanted a different type of the same product and sent an email shortly after requesting cancellation of the order so I could place a new order for the proper product.
I received a reply after the business opened in the morning informing me that all orders are final, even though the website says, "If for any reason you are not satisfied with any item, simply return it for an exchange, refund, or credit." Obviously this is only applicable after you have paid shipping, as my order is listed by their website as not having been shipped and may not be until tomorrow as the website states they "ship orders out within 48 hours". The reason for the no cancellation policy stated on the website is that, "Cancelling and resubmitting a new order incurs extra costs from the credit card vendors." I would have been happy to pay this extra cost in order to save $100 in shipping costs incurred by receiving the order, sending it back, and paying shipping for a new package, but I am not allowed this option.
I would think that the timing of my request, and the size of my order would allow the business the opportunity to help me out in the situation. I am not a business, this large purchase is for my family's consumption. The business has the right to set their policies, but their unwillingness to offer assistance when able makes me less likely to give them my business again.

I have been ordering from this site for about a year now, have tried a dozen of their teas - all of them good & inexpensive. Their Earl Grey is delicious (far better than the much more expensive Teavana brand), and their Polari is a splendid minty tea, their Chai is very good as well.

The site was full of information on each herb they supply. Their prices were far better on all the herbs I purchased than their competitors. Before finalizing the online sale, I noticed that they sold essential oils as well. I called and asked a customer service rep many questions about the oils, including sourcing, quality, testing, etc. While they won't be my EO supplier, since a lot of the information I was looking for concerning verification of oil authenticity and purity can't be provided, the customer service rep pleasantly assisted me, admitting what she didn't know and being willing to put me on hold while she got me the answers to my questions. The order arrived in a timely manner. Everything appears to be as it should be, although I haven't used any of the herbs yet. All other reviews I read on other websites listed this company as reliable as well.

Placed an order with herbco.com and had a question about the order so I called the phone # that was provided in the email invoice I received. The man that answered the phone was extremely rude and made me feel like I was wasting his time. He would not answer my question "are the herbs I'm ordering cut and sifted" not being impressed with his service I just canceled my order...
