Tried my 1st dinner last night. Loved it! Had the meat loaf, mashed potatoes, green beans. The meat loaf could use a little more spices. But overall good. Mashed potatoes & green beans off the chart good. Portions were perfect! The price right in line with a restraunt meal, maybe even less. I will be a customer for life!
This company is stupid. I could just find good recipes online go to the local store and make it. I get a box of ingredients to make myself. Defeats all purpose. I closed the account and ask for a refund after the first try and the good for nothing said that it can only be a credit to the account. Stupid useless pathetic company
I have been subscribing to HelloFresh for a few months now. My son referred me to them, and I have stopped and restarted a few times with my meal plans. The first time I stopped was because the packaging was too extensive and I thought everything would be ready to cook! I was surprised, and not pleasantly I might add. So, stopped and a few weeks later said I will give it another try! Nope! The produce was rotten and the herbs were all yellow! When I went to cancel my current box, they wouldn't let me because it was "not four days before the delivery". Oh I'm sorry its only 3 1/2 days before delivery and the customer service was awful! You cannot return it either... "because its food". NEVER AGAIN!
This is a subscription scam. When you try to cancel they still send you food and charge your for it. I cancelled through website, sent them and email and called them on the phone. And yet, I still received a meal kit that I had to pay for. RUN AWAY
This is a horrific, horrible, unfair company. After seeing a commercial I went and point out all of the food I would like and show it to my BF. I made and order in uber Eats and mistakenly I put an order in of $132 and did not notice until the next morning. I called 5 times to cancel it and no one was able to do it since have to be 5 days in advance. My order was placed at 10 pm the day before but I have to cancel 5 days in advance and my delivery date is Thursday. To add no manager wanted to talk to me. Now I am stuck with 7 meals for 2 people. HORRIBLE. I HATE YOU!
I ordered a box from Hello Fresh for delivery last Saturday, 12th August. When it arrived I had two packs of pork mince which was out of date - 11th August. This meant I had two meals I could not do. I have contacted Hello Fresh via live chat, via their customer service phone line twice and via Facebook messenger twice. They keep saying someone will contact me and 6 days later no one has and I have had no refund.
I would avoid this company at all costs. They customer service is useless and their product is not fresh.
I found Hello Fresh to be the worst of the meal kit options available. Do you really need a meal service to make chili or chicken and rice? Portions are small for the price... and the environmental impact of shipping and all of the packaging and plastic... makes this a definite NO
I ordered Hello Fresh and within the hour called and cancelled. I have a charge in my credit card and supposedly food is arriving tomorrow even though I don't want it. They told me I didn't cancel my subscription, just the order. SO BEWARE!
You have to cancel your subscription and your order which is what I thought I had done. I think this is a scam company.
As about as close to scammers as you can get. Somebody bought us a gift card, they made a sign up just to use it. It was gift card, not a promo code. Well, you can only use your gift card for basic stuff so twice when we ordered food, we had to pay the difference between the basic and the upgrades. Now, they just charged us $90 for a membership. A membership we never signed up for. All we were trying to do was just use the damn gift card. By the way, go out and eat at a restaurant instead. It's much cheaper and the food is better. When you see what you get for your money, you're going to laugh. You're going to start looking for another box cuz certainly they must have missed something. Horrible horrible horrible!
They are not transparent with the costs. I ordered 2 meals and only paid $28 at checkout. After changing a meal it had charged me $57. For 2 meals and the meal did NOT state it was a special meal! I called customer service since I couldn't change the order and they were not helpful. This app is horrible and I could have gone out to eat for the price of the 2 meals to a very place. This is the LAST time I order hello fresh. Also very hard to see images (they are so tiny on the directions) and not entirely clear for beginner cooks.
I bought Groupon to try this service, not knowing I signed up for a membership. I had to put my credit card information when I ordered food. I thought it was a little odd, because it was just a one time order with the coupon. So I checked the website, because I didn't not want to get charged. I didn't see any description that's said that I had to cancel the order after I used a couple. A week later, sure enough, I got a text message saying your meal is on the way, and I got charged…to make matters worse, the food is not worth $75…it is really a scam;(…
I received 3 meals for 2 as a gift. I was not given any option online to choose the meals so I guess they assume you do not have any allergies or aversions to anything. The food arrived fresh (with plenty of ice left in the packs) and the recipes are easy to follow, but then it was very basic meals I received (roast pork & potatoes, steak salad, chicken with grain, tomatoes & mozzarella). You have to supply your own olive oil, salt & pepper. The meats were apportioned at 6 ounces per person - not enough for my husband or anyone who has a physical job or is in athletics. Definitely lacking in veggies. I had to augment every meal with more vegetables. The pork meal only supplied one tiny zucchini. The steak salad had greens, one bell pepper and two tiny scallions - sad. I will not be using this service again. I am better at planning more complex recipes/meals for less $.
Charged after canceling. Only subscribed for maybe 15 minutes then canceled because the menu is joke 40 meals that i would never ever eat in the first place. Refused refund cuz of cut off date which is BS. It was 15 minutes. I do NOT recommend. I hope to see these crooks go belly up and rot like the food they send. Spend your hard earned money elsewhere. Totally regrettable experience.
HelloFresh, in the beginning, was a perfect option for my family. The produce was fresh and yummy. By my second box, I noticed that some of my produce was not as fresh. I wrote it off to "one bad box" and tried another two weeks. Mold and rotten produce were in the 4/5 meals that I had ordered. With that said, I canceled. I am not paying $90 a week for recipes in addition to going to the grocery store to replace products. VERY disappointed. I recommend trying for the three-week promotion then CANCEL. Such a bummer.
The food is good and is fresh- only one box so far... BUT nothing but trouble. I was given a gift by a friend and was unable to use it on their website. I called and agreed to be charged full price (immediately), promised refund (5 - 10 business days), and now can't cancel an order three days before it leaves. On the last point, when I asked why, I was told it takes five days to "get all the ingredients to get your delivery." This is just to pack a box and put it in outgoing mail- try to visualize that with fresh ingredients. Hoping my cancellation prevents them from sending more and that I actually get my promised credit- I'm cautiously optimistic.
Update- finally got my initial credit 23 days later AFTER calling customer service and demanding it. Seeing mixed reviews here? Search HelloFresh, NY, BBB (Better Business Burea). "F"
Meat have short use by and lots of fat veg is close to best before.
Tried to cancel but something went wrong called day after I realised they wouldn't cancel, wouldn't stop delivery wouldn't refund was like speaking to scripted robots. Asked to speak to a manager not able to transfer call. Couldn't tell me when I will get a call back just "asap" lol no sla's speaks volumes about this company.
Kept getting unwanted emails and requests. No way to unsubscribe on emails. After a month of this banter I got a box of food. I got their # and called. Foreign person answered and told me that I had signed up with them and gave them my name, address, and email address. Absolute lie. I had never signed up with them, nor did I want their food. Who knows how it was packed or how clean the people were who packed it. They also used an old name of mine that I changed 3 years ago, and that told be they were just lies. Scammers!
I tried the Hello Fresh service but wasn't impressed. The food was ok but all the recipe cards were 'screwed up' in the box and I did not feel it represented good value for money so ultimately I cancelled my subscription and deleted the app. Months later I then had notification of an order going out to me so I immediately called them but they refused to cancel it, saying it was 8 hours after the cut off (but I knew nothing about it until after the cut off!). I disputed the payment with the bank whilst it was still pending and was advised to cancel my debit card, which I did, but the payment has now debited my account. I have advised Evri that I cannot accept delivery and raised another bank dispute. I also spoke with a manager at Hello Fresh who told me that if they didn't receive payment for this 'order' - which I did not place! - they would pass my details onto a debt collection agency. I will fight this all the way through to court if necessary but in the meantime please take note of the numerous negative reviews here and AVOID using this company!

I originally wrote a lengthy review and have decided to revise it. Pros: Convenient, ingredients are well prepared and packaged, portion sizes are good, a good introduction to cooking for the novice. Cons: The food is at least twice as expensive as store purchased, way too much packaging, you still have to cook it, the recipes are a bit bland and the process for cancelling your subscription is I believe intentionally a bit vague. How to decide: Do you have enough money to pay for the convenience. Remember, you will still have to go to the store.
As a busy family with 3 kids and two working parents hello fresh has been a game changer! The meals are quick and easy to prepare with healthy and fresh ingredients delivered right to your door. No more food waste or trying to figure out what to make. No more is the meal making responsibilities fall on me (mom) all of my kids rangin in age from 7,10 &15 have cooked the meals successfully and to perfection. Not to mention my husband is finally cooking! Its such a stress reliever to not be solely responsible. It takes the guess work out of mealtime and we actually all sit down together to enjoy the meal! Thank you hello fresh for the fantastic meals we now share with our family, not to mention the fantastic life skills my kids are learning!
Answer: I signed up and realised its a scam - your first order is only able to be placed 2 weeks away, meaning they get your money even if you use a coupon... and from other reviews they won't let you cancel. I just registered a voucher, saw the dates and tried to cancel... and can't - there is no "cancel" on their website
Answer: You will still have to pay for delivery and such because this company says those things cannot be covered by a gift card. Beware signing up, because they will subscribe you as soon as you enter credit card information. It is in their Terms and Conditions at the beginning of the process.
Answer: You're automatically on auto ship…any week you don't overtly cancel will get sent out and you'll get charged.
Answer: Nor really. They will want to give you a partial refund of the single ingredient you found to be of poor quality... and that's if you want to take the time to navigate the website to find out how to do it. Their website is totally designed to make customer service difficult.
