My sister 'invited' me 3 years ago to join this service - after multiple attempts to unsubscribe via direct chats with agents (including snotty attitudes), I was finally removed from their mailing lists - only took a month. Then when I thought I was free, 3 years later I receive an invite saying my sister sent me the invite - which she said she did not do... And being my sister, well, ya, I believe her! What kind of deceptive marketing practice are these? I will NEVER subsribe to this service!
Life is busy and that often leads to eating a lot of takeout. I love take out, but I also understand that it can take days, weeks or years off my life. It's tough to want to get out to the grocery store and then buy all the ingredients needed which actually makes me spend more than if I just had someone else cook my food.
Anyway, I came across HelloFresh and I gotta say it's affordable... gives me everything I need and also provides variety.
It also limits how much I eat. It also forces me to stay in and cook so nothing goes to waste.
Give it a try. It's great!
They might as well be scammers! I went onto the website because i got a promo code that said it gave me 7 free meals. Not only did the promo code not work, but they also somehow charged me, and set up a subscription with out me doing anything. When i tried to contact them i just got the same massage back worded slightly different. That pretty much said "sucks for you".
I know nothing about the quality of there food, maybe its amazing. But as far as how they treat their costomers, its a no from me.
I have only been using Hello Fresh for 3 weeks and have only been able to use them once. First week package was delivered so late the food was rancid, second week package showed up on time and recipes were just "meh". Week 3 package isn't delivered at all. Had to fight tooth and nail with customer service for refunds for the 2 boxes that were late/ didn't show up. So disappointed with this company and service - AVOID!
I'm sure I'm not the only one that has this problem. Everyone better start checking their bank statements. If you normally order a box with 3 meals and 1 of those meals is a premium meal, HelloFresh will charge you the normal price for the box (which includes the premium meal,) then they will charge you again full price for the premium meal, instead of charging you the difference, which is what they should do. I spoke with several representatives including a supervisor and they all told me the same thing, "we are charging you separately for the premium meal". They denied double charging customers but this is exactly what they're doing and they don't have a problem with it. I do. I'm not paying twice for the same meal! Just charge me the difference I'm OK with that, but they want to put a little extra money in their pockets. I don't care if you call it theft, double billing, stealing, fraud, this is what they're doing. This is also against the law!
I am furious. I used a coupon for a free box, then today I got an email they are sending me another one. I guess there was some 'fine print' that I missed on checkout, so they automatically sent another box, for which I was charged. We didn't even like it! What a lousy way for them to do business.
I made an order to Hello Fresh. But after the first order, I decided it was too expensive and used the online contact to cancel my subscription. They proceeded to give me two more orders and charged me twice. I am still trying to cancel my subscription through the phone, because I can't rely on the virtual contact to do it. They have very long wait times on their phone.
We are sorry to hear you had such a difficult time canceling. Please DM us your account email and we will do our best to make this right. Thanks!
I kept getting emails with the offer to receive 20 free meals. After opening, I had to register and choose the food/menu. I did not have time, decided to do it later. In a few days, I get an email that I am going to get a parcel in a few days. Got the package and there was food that I'd never eat. And 3 days later I was charged for that meal. What? Where are 20 Free meals? The way they managed a business is Fraud! They are fooling customers. Be very careful and stay aways from this disrespectful company!
So I get this gift card in the mail from pinchme, for 17 free meals plus shipping. Get all the way thru the process and they want money. I was really hoping that this was legit, because I would love to try this product before actually buying.
We try to be as transparent as possible regarding the free meals as they are spread over the 5 weeks of boxes. You get all the FREE Meals, but not all in one box at one time. We apologize for any confusion and will bring this issue to the attention of our marketing department team. Please call us #646-846-3663 so we can get you cooking with us soon!
Hi there all!
I just signed up for Hello Fresh and I LOVE it! I'm finally cooking at home most nights instead of paying to go out for unhealthy prepared meals! I recommend it for sure. I used the code 86F7PB and even got $40 off my first box (code never expires, so you can too!)^_^
Happy cooking!

HelloFresh was decent a few years ago but now the produce and ingredients sent are sub-par and the recipes only so-so. On the whole the groceries for a typical recipe, for 2, would run you about $10-12 at the grocery store, so the food isn't worth it. Save your money and buy your own groceries.
I'd recommend avoiding this company. After my trial box, they charged me for a box I'd asked to skip. I was skipping it because the first box of meals was lackluster and this box didn't look good. Rather than acknowledge their error, Yen in Customer Service has chosen to pretend it didn't happen so I have to dispute the charge with Visa. I've never had this trouble with a subscription company and would warn users to beware.
Also, for vegetarians: expect carb heavy meals. Worst of the 4 food subscriptions I've tried- the others were great!
The produce is awful, they charger you for the next weeks box before the current one has arrived so if you're dissatisfied you still have another week to endure. While paying for the privilege. Not cool. Their customer service is very inconsistent. Some people you speak to are helpful some are rude and don't want to do anything to help. The app is glitchy, I've skipped weeks and they've still charged me and sent to box with no way out of it. Absolutely ridiculous.
The price they quoted me for the trial period differed greatly from what I was charged. You think you're paying one price, then it turns out you're paying double. I actually liked the food, and thought at the advertised price it would be a good deal. But I was charged like double the advertised price. Again, the food is great, but their business model depends on charging you more than you thought.
I received a discounted box because a friend suggested. Never ordered another. All I could do is delay shipment. Well they got me. I forgot to go cancel. Charged me $50 for 2 meals of pasta. Plus they delivered at 9:45pm in S.FL it's hot. The food was not cool. The ice pack was still slightly cool but not frozen. I am afraid to even eat the meat for the sauce. So whole thing going in the trash.
This is the third week in a row that my meal box has been on the delivery truck for at least two days before it eventually gets to me. I had requested Monday delivery and plan my meals and shopping around this. After two weeks of my food arriving on Wednesday (picked up from their warehouse on Monday but not delivered until Wednesday) the company said they had to change my delivery day to Tuesday. I am tracking my package online right now... it was again picked up on Monday... it's now Tuesday evening at 6:30pm and still no food.
This company is supposed to be all about convenience and "fresh"... they have missed big time on both!
Would not recommend to anyone.

I will never order from hello fresh again. I am very outraged. First off they charged me 4 times it took 3 weeks to a month to get my first box and it was horrible. I don't know how long they've been traveling with this but it smelled like something dead coming from the box, and the UPS even had it in a plastic bag. When I opened it it was filled with maggots. I called and talked to an agent and supposedly they could not refund me of my money and couldn't cancel my subscription. I will be contacting the BBB since they can't do any better then this and maybe my lawyer as well to get my money back.
We are really sorry to hear that you had this experience with your delivery. This is definitely not a typical HelloFresh experience, and we’d like to make this right., To speak directly to a member of our team please call #646-846-3663 or DM us on Facebook so we can get this sorted out for you. Our policy is to refund and or credit you for any food not delivered fresh. Thanks
Auto enroll you in expensive plans and make it very hard to cancel. Avoid! You can make these recipes yourself for 1/10 of the price if you get the ingredients at the grocery store. Rude customer service.
Stopped my meals the month I graduated college, 13 months later my credit card was billed $400 and they was sending meals to my old address. When I called them they said I started it back up. The only thing that could've happened is the person living there got mail sent from them and started it back up. After numerous times trying to get my money back for food I didn't pay or received they wouldn't do nothing. So my suggestion is to never buy from this company. It's a total scam and their customer service sucks!
After my first weeks I can see that most recepies have almost the same ingredients, spring onion, garlic, soy sauce, so not a lot of diversity. Also, I was looking for some recepies that were a big hit with us, but I can't find them to order them again. It looks like each week they have some variation of the same tastes. It has a good side too, as I've learnt that you can buy bulk ingredients and mix them in a variety of way, if you like a specific flavour.
Answer: I signed up and realised its a scam - your first order is only able to be placed 2 weeks away, meaning they get your money even if you use a coupon... and from other reviews they won't let you cancel. I just registered a voucher, saw the dates and tried to cancel... and can't - there is no "cancel" on their website
Answer: You will still have to pay for delivery and such because this company says those things cannot be covered by a gift card. Beware signing up, because they will subscribe you as soon as you enter credit card information. It is in their Terms and Conditions at the beginning of the process.
Answer: You're automatically on auto ship…any week you don't overtly cancel will get sent out and you'll get charged.
Answer: Nor really. They will want to give you a partial refund of the single ingredient you found to be of poor quality... and that's if you want to take the time to navigate the website to find out how to do it. Their website is totally designed to make customer service difficult.
HelloFresh has a rating of 1.5 stars from 803 reviews, indicating that most customers are generally dissatisfied with their purchases. Reviewers dissatisfied with HelloFresh most frequently mention customer service, credit card and free meals. HelloFresh ranks 171st among Food Delivery sites.
