Great job assembling furniture

I needed help assembling a dining table and chairs I had purchased online. Handy.com was able to schedule an appointment at my convenience and at a reasonable price. Nyke arrived on time, was friendly and courteous, worked quietly and efficiently, and finished the job more quickly than I expected. The dining set looks perfect, and Nyke disposed of the packing materials and left no mess behind. I won't hesitate to use Handy again, and I am happy to recommend Nyke as well.

Handy was to install a lock, they could not do it. I called for a refund, they said 3 weeks for a check. It's been 2 months, no check. I called them again, they said they never received an invoice (they did), now I have to wait another month. I am filing a complaint with the NY Attorney General's office. This place is horrible.

No follow through

First off there is no way to resolve any issue with this company unless you join their site. Since I don't plan to ever, ever use them again, I don't think so. To be honest the two individuals that put my two patio pieces together, one month apart, they did a fine job. It's the details and the petty thief that has be extremely upset. I repurchased clamps that were not place on the sections the first time ( what happened to them?) and asked them to add the missing pieces to my sectional-12 clamps, this time when they put my table together. They installed 6 of them. Then took the remaining six with them, Checked our house and trash not there.

Made me feel comfortable

I am not sure about later on, but currently real good service! Just not sure about the expense on down the road. I have never been comfortable having anyone in my house but cleaner did a great job. Made me feel ok about it and wore a mask. She was on time and worked until finished. Highly recommend. Kaye

I thought this would be a good way to make some extra money as a handyman, but this app is a complete scam. Terrible customer service that is only reachable through email, (very millennial like of them). It is worth paying for advertisements outside of this site.

They do not coordinate who shows up so two people who did not know each other show up. One is wearing a mini skirt and flip flops to assemble a heavy duty steel gazebo. She was also clearly high on something. She fought with the other worker and left early leaving my to assemble to project.

I requested a refund from handy. They took 18 days to reply and offered me 50% - this is after having called in and arguing how much I initially paid them even though I provided the invoice.

DO NOT use this service. DO NOT purchase this service through Wayfair.

Horrible Seevice!

Our cleaning "professional" did absolutely nothing. We had a post move out cleaning with 3 specific items and a 3 hour service call. I could have done it myself in an hour! The before and after pics are exactly the same. Days have passed and their customer service dept. went dark. I will have to contact my credit card company to reverse their charges.

Excellent service

The handyman (Musa) showed on time. Prepared the work area with cloth to protect our floor. Did an excellent job installing the 75" TV and sound bar on the wall. Routed all the wires so they did no show. Cleaned the work area when he was done. We were extremely pleased with his service. We would highly recommend him and handy.com for future work.

Scam

I signed up for a cleaning and somehow ended up on the hook for a yearly plan that it cost $99 to cancel. I talked to customer service and thought I had worked it all out, but it turns out they rolled me into another account that changes $10 a month to hold my money for future cleaning services and they allocated my $99 into the first ten month's payments for the account. It seems like the business model here is to trick customers into getting trapped in a plan that you have to pay to get out of. Even then, they don't make it easy or straight foreword. It would be one thing if I knew I signed up for a plan and then wanted out, but I used a mobile device to book the appointment (which never happened) and never saw anything about the monthly plan. If the had any integrity, they would return the money of customers who didn't use their services, but instead I am held hostage to a company that I was foolish enough to give my credit card number too.

I have used Handy for 3 furniture assembly engagements. All were done professionally, all were assembled with safely and solidity in mind. Included are 1 computer desk, 2 standing floor lamps, a large bureau, a 6 section cube floor unit and a cube wall unit.

I would certainly use them again as needed.

Extremely professional and quality service. They went above and beyond with connecting our technology on both our phones and thoroughly explaining all of the devices, how they'd install, why they needed to do what they want to do, etc. Their work was flawless and they took great consideration of safety in our home with masks and shoe covers - white glove service! I can't recommend Rafael enough!

Everything about this transaction was easy, smooth, and successful. They sent David H to assemble furniture and he turned out to be a very impressive young man. He was prompt, courteous, professional yet personable, and very efficient. He even helped me clean up the boxes and packing material without me asking him to do so. I highly recommend this service! I would book through Handy.com in a heartbeat and I would be thrilled if they sent David H again. This is what service is supposed to be!

This is the worst business I have ever dealt with. I have tried to cancel my cleaning plan 3 times and they keep sending someone anyways. And then they charge a cancellation fee of 50%. Once they even changed the day to Sunday without asking me if that works and I cancelled it but the person showed up anyways and they are trying to charge me. The people who come are just ok, they don't seem to have any real training. Don't waste your money. If you have a problem you can't actually talk to a person.

Tons of hidden fees

Handy has a ton of hidden fees. They have a cancellation fee of $99 and they have automatic renewals of your agreement. So no matter what you end up getting charged a $99 cancellation fee.

Each time I had a house cleaning it only takes the cleaning person 1 hour to clean. However, Handy has a charge of a 3 hour minimum. So they charge me for an additional 2 hours.

It is near impossible to reschedule a cleaner that you like. Many times the cleaners are late and they schedule one cleaner but might change that person at the last minute. So you never know who you will get until they arrive.

I had one cleaner arrive who seemed to be drunk and smelt of alcohol. I felt very uncomfortable leaving them in my house. And if they steal anything, Handy is not on the hook for this.

Very bad service and a ton of hidden fees.

My first time using Handy to clean my home. The person they sent me was Barbara. She was excellent. Cleaned everything so well. She didn't miss a thing. Arrived on time and went straight to work. Will definitely request her again! Thanks Barbara.

Disappointed

I am so disappointed with the service today. The pro was over 2 hours late, nor she did not bring any cleaning supplies. Nothing, no rags or sponges or a vacuum or broom. The app showed my address incorrectly and when I contacted customer service they did not correct the issue, just saying that the app needs to restarted but it showed the wrong location on both mine and the pros app even after we restarted. Now she was 2 1/2 late. I scheduled during a time my son would be at work so he didnt disturb the service but since the pro was so late, he was off work and needed to be at home to work from his home office. I requested a partial refund but was only offered a $5 credit. When I returned home I discovered that she broke my cleaning supplies hanger getting a broom down and the floor was not completely swept. None of it was mopped at all. I will not be using handy in the future nor will I be recommending the service

Most of the pros are great and very professional, it is difficult to keep the same on every week, even when they have accepted the booking they can send a random last minute.
If a pro steals from you, Handy does not take responsibility, they ask you to fill in a police report and they do not compensate for the loss. They do not run any security checks on pros, so be careful with your belongings. Handy does not look after their pros, as they are hired on a freelance basis, putting clients and their homes at risk, as anyone can join as a pro.
The app is good, the service not so much.

UNRELIABLE!
January 10, 2019

Despite scheduling well in advance ( a month!), Handy texted a cancellation notice on the day of service, indicating they did not have enough service providers in our area to (suburbs of Philadelphia!). This left us in a horrible bind, as we had sold our house and the cleaning was scheduled for the day prior to closing. As such, we had to scramble, and given significant cost for last minute cleaning services had to clean it ourselves. I would not trust this company!

It's a sham
July 6, 2018

I booked two jobs with Handy for the same day. Handy debited my card prior to booking a professional to do the job and kept insisting someone would show up until the morning of so I took the day off of work. They never got a professional to do the jobs at all but took my money all the same. Now they want to "credit my handy account" toward another booking. I'm not that stupid, there will be no more business between us but having a hassle to get my money back. So not easier than finding someone my self. At least if they don't show, would not have already paid them.

Quick and easy
August 9, 2023

Needed someone to put together a slightly complicated kids bed for my lil one as I'd forgotten to pay for it at checkout. I Was able to get book the day before and have someone for 8:00 if he next day. Our handy specialist did a great job and was done in 2 hrs and 30mins. Lil ones happy. Wife's happy I'm happy.
