They are terrible service and Lowes should be ashamed for using them. First, they scheduled a toilet installation for 10 days out. The 10th day came and I called and the installation guy said he thought someone else took the job. I complained to Handy and was told they would send someone the next day but then got a message saying it would be 5 more days and that appointment was going to also be rescheduled. It's the worst customer service I've ever experienced because of the broken English they speak. I had bought the service February 1st.
They charge you for a cleaning done by unknown service provider, the quality turns out to be bad and they just offer to send another provider next time. So they are charging me for testing their provider, very smart! Another alternative is to cancel which costs $99. I cancelled my subscription and now they are refusing to delete my credit card data from their databases.
Beware of Handy.com. Once they have your credit card information, they will make unauthorized use of your credit card. Yesterday they billed me three times, adding up to $100 for services I never ordered or authorized. I used them once five months ago. All of a sudden, last night at midnight I received a text five months later that someone was coming to clean up an apartment I didn't even own and I was being charged for it. There is no phone number on the site, nothing you can do to stop them. I had to get a new credit card to stop their unauthorized use of my card.
My handy professional Daniel H provided excellent service, he was on time and even a little early. He completed his 2 projects very quick and efficiently. He was just amazing and because of him I will use Handy again. ( Try to request him if you can).
The gentleman who came out to help me organize and move heavy items around in the garage was so efficient and professional. I had a deadline to get my garage cleaned out to house my car. He came in with a solid plan and executed it. Thank you Gael. Awesome job.
I like the fact that the team shows up when scheduled and get the job done in the amount of time that has been agreed upon. They are very thorough and always ask if there is anything else they can address that may have been missed. Friendly & professional.
This is the absolute worst service experience I have ever had! The toilet Handy installed leaks, I have called to have this fixed and Handy has scheduled and cancelled on me 5 times this week already. FIVE TIMES! I am boiling hot! I had to rip up flooring I just had put in and I will have to rip up another layer tomorrow. I contacted Lowes and this was escalated due to a safety hazard for my elderly mother. Their idea of escalating was to cancel on me twice today at the last minute. I am so tired of waking up and being fearful of my mother falling or floor damage and being angry every day this week! I actually was going to pay someone to fix it today on my own... but they convinced me that someone would be here today and tomorrow to fix it... and low and behold they cancel again at 8 pm tonight.
Purchased my first appliance, (dishwasher) from Costco and was very satisfied with the delivery service and the install appointment with Handy. Michael was promptly on time, very efficient, polite and informative. He suggested that one of the hoses should be replaced from the previous hosing under the sink to help decrease continuous water running to the dishwasher when it wasn't needed; which in turn would overall help decrease my water bill.
Handy professionals will not show up to your appointment, make you wait an entire afternoon without communication, and charge you anyways.
When you contact them, they will compensate you $10 for your wasted time. That is $10 for a missed 2 hour appointment.
If your time is worth $5 / hour, then go ahead and use these people. Other wise find someone else.
Btw, if u cancel you're appointment, they charge you full amount.
Installation was scheduled with Handy through Lowe's for a garbage disposal. I received lots of emails on my upcoming install however the contractor never called or showed up. Lowe's passed the buck to Handy and their response was that contractor would not be allowed to work on any future jobs at my home. Too bad for all the future customers they leave hanging. Lowe's got their garbage disposal back and my install cost was refunded.
From the time I scheduled an appointment and paid in full, to 10 minutes after the scheduled appointment time, I never had any communication regarding my appointment. The handyman begin right away, assembling the vanity. Then, I had another knock at my door. There was another handyman standing at the door for the project. How awkward! Both handymen were very professional and worked together nicely to complete the projects.
They did a beautiful job, and I highly recommend them both. However, because of the poor communication from handy.com, I give the company an average of a three rating because the company gets a 1 but their handymen get a 5. I fairly rate an average of 3.
I think the concept if handy.com is great and if they can get their communication issues resolved, I think this will be a great option for handyman services.
I booked two services for one day - neither contractor appeared to have gotten the notes of what they were going to work on, and thus were unprepared for the job. As an example, I was clear that I needed replacing of a two story chandelier, and the contractor said he had no ladder when he got here.
In both cases, we made the most of the situation, and both contractors were able to provide some value for their service. However, I learned that only 25% of what I paid went to the vendor - he was apparently receiving only $75 total for three hours of work - and he had two people to do the job. Meanwhile, I paid nearly $300 to Handy. Had I known ahead of time that the booking fee was so much more than the contractor would get, I would have gone another route.
Miguel did an awesome job installing a mirror I recently purchased. Unfortunately I experienced a faulty job where the mirror crashed to the floor after 10 mins of the job being complete. He was very thorough, understood my concerns and didn't leave until I confirmed that the mirror was secured to the wall. Highly recommend.
One can get lucky with good cleaner.
App very inflexible forces you to rate without appropriate options. Most cleaner come without supplies even though they are suppose too and is included in the price. Very bad tech on establishing contact with cleaner as they try very hard to mask and cleaner will ultimately call on your mobile.
This was my first ever experience of getting someone to assemble furniture for me. I recommend this company to everyone. My handy guy was/will always be Carnell. He was right on time with everything, don't hesitate to use Handy. It's worth it!
The first person who came to clean switched her vacuum for mine. The second person could not clean it all. With always complaining and upset it was difficult to reach anyone through the Apple by email. I would never recommend this company.
I ordered Handy service through Wayfair to put together my bed frame before my mattress arrived. Service person cancelled 20 mins before they were supposed to be here. Handy.com didn't try to send someone else. And then I emailed to get a refund, over 2 mos and multiple emails and terrible customer service (b/c it was as if they didn't understand what I was asking)! I finally called Wayfair directly and they took 2 mins on the phone to refund my money.
Is this even a company? This has been the literal worst experience I've had in dealing with any company for any service ever! Their cleaners have no showed me 5 times in TWO WEEKS! It's disgusting and a waste of my time. And i can't get anyone to give me a human answer or any help to either get out of my contract or get someone to actually come and clean my house. Which is all i want! To pay them for a service. But no. That's too difficult for them. AWFUL. WORST EVER.
Do not use this service. I tried to use them for cleaning while my apartment was on the market. First service was just ok. Second service, the provider cancelled 15 minutes before they were supposed to arrive and I had an open house the next day. There is zero point in a unreliable cleaning service. I'll be cleaning my own house now since they failed to show up. Even worse, all the customer service is via bots that do not answer or address your questions, there is no number to call, you have to pay them $99 to cancel your service (even if they are the ones that cannot fulfill the service). Then when you cancel, they sign you up without permission for their other services. Absolutely stay away form this service. Total scam. They have no control over the providers, but the do control your money, if you sign up with them you will lose your money when they cancel your services.
Answer: They don't provide a refund, even when they fail to honor the agreement. In my case, they have twice (so far) canceled my house cleaning with one hour's notice. (If I fail to give 24 hours notice of cancellation, I have to pay a penalty. For them, no notice, no penalty.) They told me they were having trouble finding cleaners in my area. And if the no shows are a problem for me, I can pay the $99 cancellation fee. So how long does this go on? Three cancellations, five, ten? Forever? This is an irresponsible company with horrible customer service.

Im supposed to do a job tomorrow that i have to buy stuff out of my own money and hold my breath for pay back. Ill stand on a corner begging for money before I do another job for them unless they pay me for past jobs and I talk to someone on the phone.
