DO NOT USE HANDY! NO STARS FRAUD!
I have a professional cleaning company, I had been contacted by handy quite a few times in the past and decline to participate with service. My decision was based on not knowing enough about handy and the fact that they really offered little information other than they were supported by Walmart and wish and a couple of other places they mentioned.
I was contacted by handy to perform a one-time cleaning service for a gentleman, I was reluctant at first, then I decided to take one job and see what would happen. The job was legitimate I went in and performed my service. The customer was pleased I'd had them check everything before I left. The client was supposed to contact handy confirming that the job was done to their satisfaction and then monies would transfer from the client through the third party to a PayPal account. While I was there the gentleman contacted his professional consultant for handy, He had to leave a message stating that the services were performed to great satisfaction and then I left. Since performing that job I have not heard one whisper of a word from handy. The client and I have been in contact. They had their card charged in the amount that was required for the job, and neither of us have any clue how to get a hold of them. And I am yet to be paid. Again DO NOT USE HANDY!
Handy treats both their customers and their "professionals" abominably. The person assigned to me called me at 4am to tell me she thought she had the flu and would be going to the doctor before she came for her 9am appointment. At 9:30 when she still had not arrived, I tried to call her back at the number she called from, and got a recording stating that I was not calling from an approved phone, and to call back using the phone number on my account. (Which doesn't exist anymore, as it is 4 feet deep in flood water.) Waiting in my vacant house with no internet access, I tried to contact Handy directly, only to learn that they only allow you to contact them via email. At 1pm I gave up and went elsewhere to access the webpage, where all I could do was file a "No Show" complaint. Handy never contacted me, but instead charged her a $150 penalty fee, which she called me back to complain about.
Handy has no interest in addressing concerns, fixing issues, or maintaining customers or business relationships, their only objective is to make sure they get their money any way they can. Their ultimate resolution was to apply $109 credit to my account for "my next booking". Pigs will fly...
DO NOT WORK FOR THIS COMPANY. I have over 40 jobs completed for this company and will not do another one. I work in Information Technology and am an extremely patient person but they have the worst customer service I have ever encountered. They will fine you and not hear your side of any story. I got sent to the wrong address (The real address was in a different state) and then fined because the customer stated I was a no show. I went to the address listed on the app. Customer service wouldn't help me and said I was 30ft from the actual GPS coordinates so they still counted me as a no-show. I was sitting in the address's driveway on the phone with the customer when we realized it was a Handy error.
They will send you standard pre-written responses that have nothing to do with your questions. They will say "Is there anything else I can help you with today?" when they haven't even attempted to help you in the first place. If you show up to a job that is supposed to be with another Handy employee and they don't show, you have to do twice the work and not get paid the other persons share. Its ridiculous. I can go on and on about how awful of an experience I've had. The customers are usually pretty good. It is 100% the fault of Handy's customer Service team that makes this an unenjoyable experience. Nobody should work for them.
Jefferson did and excellent job installing my trundle bed. I will use him again for other work I need done.
He is professional and friendly.
I bought 2 garage door openers (Chamberlain smart video openers) from Lowes and paid installation while purchasing. Lowes referred to handy.com, and I got someone came to install it. The installer removed the existing opener, unpacked the new one and connected one end of the belt to the wall and kept hanging the other end and called me and said he cannot do anything else because there is a center beam in my garage. Now my door is not working and I have to pull up and down the door manually to operate it.
I called the Chamberlain Customer Support and they said this is very common procedure any garage door installer can do it. They also sent me this link - https://support.chamberlaingroup.com/s/article/How-to-shorten-the-length-of-the-rail-to-make-room-for-a-ceiling-beam-or-other-obstruction**************. I tried to call few other installers and they said they will install only if I buy the opener from them.
Then I tried reaching out to Lowes, that is a complete different nighmare. The sales person gave her card to me when I bought the product. Later when I tried to e-mail her, she did not respond to me. Then I went into the store and tried to find her. Not able to find her, but one of her colleagues helped to enter some notes into the system. No response for few days. Then I e-mailed Lowes again. No response yet. Now I paid for a preminum product and pulling and pushing the garage door daily.
For anyone interested to see the quality of work handy.com did for me, I have attached the pictures.
I got more than I bargained for today! Kai C not only did a great job cleaning my place, he was pleasant, professional and efficient!
Handy came to assemble a bed frame which I had bought on Wayfair. Alexandra was on time, kind, efficient, and did an incredible job.
Jason from Handy did a very good job on two small projects I had. He was professional and thorough -both jobs were done properly, safely and quickly!
Scott came early and did a great job with my air conditioner even though it was too small for the hole in the wall.
Ricardo S. In NYC is an amazing home cleaner. When I returned, my apartment was glistening. It has never looked so good. I will continue to hire him.
Had a very messy house that needed to get clean to go up for sale. Handy and the great Pro got in done!
All our dealings have been great! Would say if you need work done and don't have the time.
Give Handy a try!
Raymond was very punctual, professional and friendly. Very happy with his service. Would hire him back for any other handy work.
Brian did a great job assembling my desk and bookshelf. On time and efficient. Cleaned up the work area. Highly recommend.
Answer: They don't provide a refund, even when they fail to honor the agreement. In my case, they have twice (so far) canceled my house cleaning with one hour's notice. (If I fail to give 24 hours notice of cancellation, I have to pay a penalty. For them, no notice, no penalty.) They told me they were having trouble finding cleaners in my area. And if the no shows are a problem for me, I can pay the $99 cancellation fee. So how long does this go on? Three cancellations, five, ten? Forever? This is an irresponsible company with horrible customer service.
Answer: Im having problems getting paid. I told client to have cash on hand as I wont do the job. Good luck finding someone else with my skill set. Im supposed to do a job tomorrow that i have to buy stuff out of my own money and hold my breath for pay back. Ill stand on a corner begging for money before I do another job for them unless they pay me for past jobs and I talk to someone on the phone.
Answer: Again, these should not be appearing in the automatic feed for FAQ's? Who is doing QA around here?
Answer: Probably should not list someone's personal telephone number in the FAQ feed. What do you guys think?
Answer: Wayfair is also a scam. It's just a matter of time. They are a middle man to hundreds of businesses. They sell products regardless of whether or not the product is available or in inventory. Eventually people will catch on...
