Beware, customers or workers. I worked for them for more than a year, they are a rip off and a joke of a company. Everything becomes a mess. They are so bad they should not even conduct business.
I was a first time handy user. My experience was absolutely horrible. I was not getting notifications through the app even though I had set it up and my cleaner stated that she called through the app and I never got her call. I had been waiting 50 minutes for the cleaner. When I finally noticed she left messages. She already left. When I responded to her why didn't you call me like I asked, she stated that she could not. Called me hun and told me that she had been waiting since 5 minutes after my appointment was supposed to start. Complained that handy does not pay for her gas and travel expenses etc. I had given her my phone number to call me instead of texting me through the app. Common sense would have been to call my cell when I didn't respond. Customer service is super slow and now that I cancelled my account is non existent! $99 to cancel and they force new users to pay for at least a 3 month plan! What a scam and waste of time! Now I have to contact the BBB and fight to get a partial refund for at least
The last two appointments I will never use. DO NOT USE HANDY.COM! The app is horrible and I just wasted $300!
First of all let me start by saying I had to scroll a very long ways on this feed to find anything but a 1 star review.
Travel a lot! I scheduled for a cleaning for my sons graduation and flew in a day early so they could clean the house. Right before the cleaning the cancelled. When I tried to reach out to customer service they said I cancelled, which was not the case. I was able to cancel my plan but they kept the $133 for the cleaning they never did. I contested with my credit card saying I never got the services but Handy sent all of the items to them and also told the credit card company I cancelled which was not the truth. I have since tried to log into my account to use the credit they won't refund me and I've been locked out of my account. I have contacted them twice on this and they said it's fixed but it's not and so I feel they have stolen my money. I am contacting the New York Attorney General for misconduct of funds and plan to add printed copies of the pages and pages of reviews. I will also be contacting the BBB on them. My goal after seeing all of this is the Attorney General will investigate and close down the business. They are thieves and will not provide services and then will also steal your money. I also love their generic replies to all of the posts. I emailed them again today and still no response to my locked out account.

DO NOT USE THIS SERVICE. If I could give a zero, I would. Had an absolutely horrible experience, which was made worse by their "customer service" - - really more like blatant customer disregard and rejection, there was no service whatsoever. My walls are visibly damaged in several places, and I will now have to pay someone else to fix them and probably repaint the whole room at this point. This is after already paying Handy $135 for what should have been a simple job (hanging shelves and frames). The "pro" didn't know what he was doing, he was just some guy who owns an electric drill and used it to destroy my walls. He didn't actually even complete the job, because he told me one hanging I needed wasn't possible. I contacted Handy with an extremely detailed description of what occurred and corresponding photos. They clearly didn't read what I had written, and all they were willing to do was give me $35 in credits for future services, which is a JOKE because I will never consider using them again. Save your money, and more importantly, save your house from these people.
Carson is very professional and got the job done effectively. He notified me that he was available sooner than the appointment time and available to start if I was okay with that.
The technician, James, was professional and friendly. He arrived on time, had all the necessary tools and knowledge to do the job and was very respectful of my home.
I used Handy for the first time and was very please with the outcome. They use very professional and competent workers who get the job done. Will use again.
I just had my third assembly through Handy and all have been just right. On time, professional, and excellent work. I will use Handy again when I order something on line that requires assembly.

He was very professional and I noticed he really took his time and cleaned every nook and cranny! My apt is very dusty and I didn't even have to tell him twice he was really good!
First let me say the professional who came out to help was wonderful and this is nothing against him.
I booked a 5 hour appt for a professional to meet me at our lakehouse in Michigan to put together furniture on a Saturday. I left Chicago early on Saturday to be sure I was there on time to meet him. Two hours before he was scheduled, as I was on the road, I got a message that the appt was rescheduled for Monday. Well, I planned on being back in Chicago on Monday and not still in Michigan. I looked everywhere for a number to call but none was provided. I expressed my displeasure via email and was told they rescheduled for Sunday at noon but that no professional was assigned so basically it might be a no show again.
I posted on Facebook and had a lovely individual come out and help me on Saturday. I saved a few projects for Sunday just in case someone showed up. Luckily he did and he stayed for about 3.5 hours. I paid the original price I had booked (5 hours). I didn't ask for a refund for the additional 1.5 hours because I honestly didn't want to deal with the company anymore.
They Initially "compensated" me by giving me a whole $10 credit, which did not come off the Sunday appt. I emailed telling them I wanted that credit applied to this booking as I would never be using their company again. They refused, "but the good thing is, the $10 will automatically be applied once you create a new booking"
Nope. Not gonna fight over $10. I'd rather just let everyone out there in internet land know. DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY.
We used the Handy App to request assembly for 3 pieces of furniture. I was very specific in the description that we had a large bunkbed (twin over full), a medium size desk and a small side table. The app estimated 3 hrs and quoted us a price. The day before the service, I contacted the pro to ask if there would be 2 people coming, to put together the bunkbed, and she said it was only her. I was happy with the pro's work, but with only 1 person, it took her 5.5 hrs to put together the bunkbed just by itself. I had to contact customer service to add on the 2.5 additional hrs, to make sure she was paid fairly, and we still had two pieces of furniture to be assebled. We ended up paying twice the quoted amount, for one piece of furniture. When I finally got through to a customer service person on the app (I went round and round with the automated service on the phone, not able to connect with a person), they told me that to book 2 pros I would have to do 2 separate bookings. Their app way underestimated both the time the job would take and the amount, and then instead of apologizing and trying to help the situation, they basically said it was my fault for not booking 2 people. Very frustrating, and not a good experience overall with Handy.
I've used Handy before and the results are always the same: the worker is prompt, does the job correctly and efficiently, and they're neat and clean! Always friendly (but professional).
Daniel is extreemely services, he is very proffessinal and experience for the installation... He is so helfuly and nicely, I am very lucky to got him for my new TV Stand. I am appreciate it, I rate Daniel 5 Star and plus

First cleaning person was nice but didn't clean well. Second time with different cleaning person I was happy with the cleaning and she was also very nice. I will be requesting her again.
DO NOT USE they are unreliable. I have used them about 7 times and out of the 7 times they cancelled at the last minute. TODAY, XMAS EVE, they cancelled on me 20 minutes before they were due here, leaving me stuck for a Christimas Party. AND THIS IS THE SECOND TIME THEY DID THIS TO ME ON A HOLIDAY. I DO NOT RECOMMEND THIS COMPANY.
We have a wonderful Handy helper, Josiane, and she does an awesome job! I look forward to coming home on the day she comes…I know I'll come home to a sparkling clean house.
They don't assign enough people to do a project. They don't finish a project. So now you are stuck waiting to get the project done. Absolutely terrible.
Answer: They don't provide a refund, even when they fail to honor the agreement. In my case, they have twice (so far) canceled my house cleaning with one hour's notice. (If I fail to give 24 hours notice of cancellation, I have to pay a penalty. For them, no notice, no penalty.) They told me they were having trouble finding cleaners in my area. And if the no shows are a problem for me, I can pay the $99 cancellation fee. So how long does this go on? Three cancellations, five, ten? Forever? This is an irresponsible company with horrible customer service.
Answer: Im having problems getting paid. I told client to have cash on hand as I wont do the job. Good luck finding someone else with my skill set. Im supposed to do a job tomorrow that i have to buy stuff out of my own money and hold my breath for pay back. Ill stand on a corner begging for money before I do another job for them unless they pay me for past jobs and I talk to someone on the phone.
