I dont think they deserve even one star! That might signify they were good at something. Want to talk to a human? Lol
Dont use their service, dont work for them stay away!
This company is impossible to get a hold of. It's very frustrating. Issues arise and then when you try to use their App to contact them their is no direct number or email.
We scheduled an appointment with Handy to have an electrician install a light fixture. Before the appointed date, Handy charged our credit card the stated fee AND an additional fee that was four times the stated fee. Their customer service was useless. It took days and many, many attempts before we got it straightened out--the fee keeps appearing and disappearing, so who knows whether it's actually gone even now?
In the meantime, after confirming our appointment, Handy suddenly changed it to a late night appointment, which we didn't want. Again it took many, many tried to get an appointment at a reasonable hour. Handy then cancelled just half an hour before the electrician was supposed to arrive. We rescheduled again for two weeks later, and again Handy cancelled less than an hour before the appointment.
We then cancelled the service and said we wanted a refund. Handy sent multiple emails saying both that the refund would be processed in "one to two weeks" and that they could not process the refund. They shouldn't have submitted a charge to begin with before the work was done, and now we have another mess to clean up--and the work never got done.
This is by far the worst service company I've even encountered. It's been a month, hours of our time, and hundreds of dollars for a simple job that never got done. If you have any other option, use it. If you don't, don't get the work done. Seriously, avoid these people at all costs.
Awesome services. Folks were on time and provided services more than expected. Extraordinary people.
I have used this service several times. I used the cleaning service (and did a membership for 3-4 months) that worked pretty well.
I used it for a plumber... also went great.
But here we come to the last time i used them... I needed a handyman to install ceiling lights, bathroom lights and a fan. The guy that came brought a challenged friend "to help"
It took them 2 + hours to install the fan... They actually admitted that they just watched it on YouTube to see how to do it. I had to give them pointers as to what they should be doing. Mind you i am not 'handy' at all, but i do have a brain. After 4.5 hours only half the job was done. My bathroom lights don't fully cover the hole in wall. The fan works but not the way i should, i can't change speeds. And i have no idea if they installed any of the 4 lights, yes 4 in 4.5 hours with 2 men, correctly. Are there exposed wires? Were they all grounded correctly? I don't know. But Handy doesn't actually care. They refunded me just under half of the fee. And that's it.
I first used Handy through Wayfair to install several outside lights, then booked a pro install a faucet. Excellent customer interface and the work was great. Great resource.
Handy installation is awful they kept rescheduling to the point I canceled and got 144.00 off my installation of a window air conditioner never use handy
When I signed up, I was told I'd have a pro team and could choose my pro. Sounds great right? Read reviews, choose a Pro, satisfaction guaranteed. Choosing a year of service for my one year lease sounded perfect.
My pro was lined up, I messaged her that I'd give her a key after the first visit. All seemed well. Then, after the cancelation window for me and less than 2 hrs before my service, I receive a reminder of my upcoming service... which is when I see that Handy has assigned a new Pro, not on my Pro team, with no reviews, to clean my house.
The fact that they can change your cleaner last minute with no notice to you means you have to be home or have a way to provide a key to whatever random person they send! I'm not the type to take chances with no reviews on certain things & a stranger in my house with a key is one.
Tried to contact them - they have no phone and, despite a message saying you'll hear from them in 15 minutes, I never heard back. I did cancel & warn the new pro, since Handy couldn't be bothered to reply in time to save her a wasted trip.
This seems like an ok model for one-time services. I would never use or recommend them for regular service though. Unless you can/want to be home for your full cleaning service every time.
Partnered with a furniture store I bought a dresser from to help assemble it. I ended up needing to reschedule, which was hassle-free, and the handyman was friendly, quick, and helpful.
Eric J. Was my Pro. He was polite and professional and did an excellent job hanging curtain hardware for me. I would recommend Eric J. And the people at Handy.com anytime.
Matt came and put up my pergola. Unfortunate all of the letters came off but he was able to put it together using the pictures. Matthew did a great job! I highly recommend Matt and Handy.
On time (showed up 10 minutes early), very friendly, came with own supplies, very courteous, straight to the point. I did not have to give any instructions at all. I signed up for the whole year.
Absolutely terrible and irresponsible. I paid 200 dollars for a "professional" assembly of a 1,000 dollar gas grill. The first time I lit the grill, a fire broke out under the side burner, because it wasn't assembled correctly, and burnt the right side off of the grill, and burning my arms severely in the process of putting out the fire. When I contacted them about it, and sent them pictures of the grill, their response was "We will not send "So and So" back to your job site". Then they told me that whenever I replace the grill, they would be happy to assemble it for me. HA! I am supposed to re-hire the same company that caused the fire in the first place?
They replied and allowed me to submit a claim for the loss of my grill because "they have my back". Now they now tell me that my claim was denied because it wasn't submitted within 72 hours of the work being performed. I tried to use my grill as soon as it was possible - there has been rain, snow and freezing temperatures here. This company "does not have your back".
I clean for handy. I do not travel with a vacuum from home to home. That and toilet bowl brushes... Um DUH? I purchase/ rent these items for special jobs upon request and I always communicate the day before. This app allows for you to get A BAD REVIEW EVEN IF YOU DIDN'T CLEAN FOR THE CLIENT. Terrible for both client and cleaner. THERE IS NO COMMUNICATION AT ALL. CORPORATE SCAM AT ITS FINEST
I hired Kenyatta at handy.com in El Cajon, CA, which is in East San Diego County. She did an excellent job and was both fast and thorough. I highly recommend her.
Booked a service, they took my money, than another Company called me and wanted to charge me again and couldn't keep the original date booked on top of that! Complete scam.
I am working out of town and my adult daughter was home to greet Tumeika. After she left my daughter said the house looked and smelled amazing. 10/10 will use again!
I love the way they operate, always on time and clean up in a timely fashion. I recommend a few friends and they all like the job that were done on place
Their always looking for a way to take the money back from the handyman. I completed a job an hour early to the customers satisfaction. Handy charged me $15 for leaving early!
Robert did an excellent job in all facets of this job! He was on time. He cleaned up after himself.
The job was done professionally and in a timely fashion. Great job!
Answer: They don't provide a refund, even when they fail to honor the agreement. In my case, they have twice (so far) canceled my house cleaning with one hour's notice. (If I fail to give 24 hours notice of cancellation, I have to pay a penalty. For them, no notice, no penalty.) They told me they were having trouble finding cleaners in my area. And if the no shows are a problem for me, I can pay the $99 cancellation fee. So how long does this go on? Three cancellations, five, ten? Forever? This is an irresponsible company with horrible customer service.
Answer: Im having problems getting paid. I told client to have cash on hand as I wont do the job. Good luck finding someone else with my skill set. Im supposed to do a job tomorrow that i have to buy stuff out of my own money and hold my breath for pay back. Ill stand on a corner begging for money before I do another job for them unless they pay me for past jobs and I talk to someone on the phone.
Answer: Again, these should not be appearing in the automatic feed for FAQ's? Who is doing QA around here?
Answer: Probably should not list someone's personal telephone number in the FAQ feed. What do you guys think?
Answer: Wayfair is also a scam. It's just a matter of time. They are a middle man to hundreds of businesses. They sell products regardless of whether or not the product is available or in inventory. Eventually people will catch on...
