Apparently the only service you're going to get when paying Handy is the ability to get rescheduled on multiple times, and perhaps a no-show at least once.
This company is a middleman that doesn't actually confirm availability of local contractors, they simply throw a date at you and can't commit to making it happen. When you call they tell you nothing can be rescheduled any sooner than 48 hours out, and when you do, they will again reschedule you for another 48 hours out automatically.
Steer clear, do not use this service, do not purchase their service, do not trust the fake reviews on their website. (You can only leave a rating for a confirmed successful booking, so no idea where those reviews actually come from).
You are better off finding a local contractor on your own to get the work you need done.
Convenient and one-stop-shop for booking a cleaning service (and more). The cleaning pros bring their own supplies, are quite punctual, and most do a very good job/take pride in their work. There were a couple instances when cleaning pros did not work out but I reached out to customer service by email to explain and they assisted me promptly and to my satisfaction by issuing a credit one time and a refund another time. Their app is also 'handy' to have on my phone and convenient for scheduling & coordinating upcoming bookings.
It was great value and service having a pro do the furniture assemble after reading the reviews of the banquette on Wayfair I thought I'm going to get someone to do it for me. Good partnership for Handy with Wayfair. Though there were not enough batons but that was Wayfair's issue
Handy.com sent Raymond to installed timer light switches (7) to automatically control our exterior lights. He was on-time, professional, and courteous. Early on, he noticed a problem with one of the switches and headed out to the hardware store to get a replacement. He picked up what was needed and returned to finish the job without going over the prepaid time. I highly recommend the service and will definitely use it again.
I had Bryan G. Who came in and mounted my 50 inch tv and full motion mount all by himself, he was very nice and friendly, he asked the right questions and did such an amazing job. He finished very quickly in which i was shock for, he even showed us how to move it and use it. 100/10, would definitely recommend him and using him again!
We bought a garbage disposal at Lowe's with installation via handy.com. The installer did not show up twice. We took off work two days. Terrible service. Do not schedule installation through Lowe's /handy.com. It may never be installed. Michael P
Unreliable it having people to provide monthly service that you commit to for cleaning for a period of time. So then your stuck in a contract that cost to cancel but they can't fulfill their end. Then when they do send someone they pay them crap. The person doing the actual work gets about 50% of what you pay OR LESS! Contract with someone directly don't bother to use this service.
I had a pro hired to install my kitchen cabinet handles. The pro did a terrible job. Miss placing the handles, putting them on crooked and even drilling a hole in the wrong spot. When I contacted Handy, they gave me the runaround for three months before they finally said that they would issue me a check for the damages. This was, of course, after I reported them to the Better Business Bureau These cabinets were Brand new right out of the box expensive custom cabinets. Please do not hire this company. If there is a problem, you will pay out of pocket or wait 3 to 6 months before they will reimburse for damages. Unfortunately I have to pay a contractor hundreds of dollars AGAIN to have all those cabinet doors replaced out of pocket. Read this fine print. They will not pay for anything other than the replacement. They will not pay for shipping and taxes for them to be sent to you as well. I am Oot hundreds of dollars.
I purchased a bike for my sons birthday through Walmart.com including an in-home assembly by Handy. After the assembly was initially scheduled, the time and date was changed several times. Late last night they totally cancelled the order, leaving us with a box full of bike parts, and no bike.
I have a Handyman company (2 of us) and thought I was getting in on a great opportunity with Handy... BIG MISTAKE!
No customer service, seriously, none!
They only communicate with email.
I pulled the plug on the last job when the customer had already had the work done and Handy listed it. They cost me a lot of money that day and were not willing to accept responsibility for their mistake.
I'm done with Handy.
Never again!
We just had our second job completed by Handy. Both men were prompt and efficient, and did great work.
The first assembled the cabinet pictured below and the second cleaned our gutters. He also evaluated our roof and found a couple of problems that we beyond his skill level. I would be happy to have either of these men work for me again, and I will use Handy again.
I ordered a piece of furniture from Crate and Barrel that required assembly. After reading the reviews, it seemed that everyone struggled with the unclear instructions, so I booked an appointment with Handy for Ivan to assemble the piece. He arrived on time with a dolly full of tools. He was prepared for anything that required assembly it appeared. The instructions were indeed not helpful, so he improvised and figured it out by himself. He did a great job, was very polite, and serviceable. I would definitely recommend him and hire him again for future tasks.
I purchased a adjustable bed frame from Walmart and added the additional charge to have someone from Handy.com assemble the frame. After three rescheduled appointments, I cancelled Handy. The company sets an appointment but there is not a person behind the appointment. The "pro" has to accept the job. How can you set an appointment like that?! Bad idea. I would never use that service again and certainly not recommend them.
Handy service is awesome and they have dedicated workers and detailed oriented. I would truly equivocal recommend their services to any of my associates
Great installation job by Mohsen. Even with me misrepresenting (my mistake!) the existing wall mount, Mohsen was able to adapt and still install our new TV. He was both friendly and professional.
Horrible experience, would not recommend using them for anything. They rescheduled my installation three times and failed to show each time. After the third and three missed days of work the cancelled the installation order. Communication was horrible and representatives could not deviate for their script. A manager was supposed to call me within 24 hours and I am still waiting for that call.
Be careful. They (Handy cleaning) have a way of getting you in a commintment contract without you even knowing it. This company is so frustrating.(Handy is with Angi.) You get charged whatever they want and you aren't aware until its out of your account. I had a cleaning booking cancel on me 4 times in a row, with the last time with a half hour notice. Customer service is a joke. Its a someone from a different country with little english abilty and no authority to solve the many issues.I deeply REGRET doing business with them. I have spent hours trying to get my money back, which they only do as a "Angi credit" and then when I booked a cleaning to use that credit, they charged my account $104. They would not refund it unless I cancelled the cleaning booking (which I really needed to have)

I am a new customer and did not know what to expect. The handyman was professional and personable. He really knows his craft. What an exceptional young man--very talented. He had the cabinet I ordered from the internet up in almost no time. His work is solid. It was delightful working with him. I would definitely recommend him and would like to work with him again. Very happy.
Had a 10-1 pm appointment for a fan install. First strike, appointment was set without contacting me, via text. Next when I spoke to Jen with service center, they say running late. Then she hung up on me. Tech never returned my calls, Handy never reached out to me. At this time, I recommend avoid them at all cost. P.S. Lowes was also of very little help.
Terrible customer service and highly deceptive advertising. They stated 25 per hour but charges 200 for their referral fee. When I complained and wanted to cancel they actually charged me 99 since I signed up foe 3 months. Never ever use them
Answer: They don't provide a refund, even when they fail to honor the agreement. In my case, they have twice (so far) canceled my house cleaning with one hour's notice. (If I fail to give 24 hours notice of cancellation, I have to pay a penalty. For them, no notice, no penalty.) They told me they were having trouble finding cleaners in my area. And if the no shows are a problem for me, I can pay the $99 cancellation fee. So how long does this go on? Three cancellations, five, ten? Forever? This is an irresponsible company with horrible customer service.
Answer: Im having problems getting paid. I told client to have cash on hand as I wont do the job. Good luck finding someone else with my skill set. Im supposed to do a job tomorrow that i have to buy stuff out of my own money and hold my breath for pay back. Ill stand on a corner begging for money before I do another job for them unless they pay me for past jobs and I talk to someone on the phone.
