Neede outdoor lighting and outdoor drapes installed for my deck. Jose arrived on time and installed both items. The lights we done so beautifully and far above what I expected. And my curtains are placed so expertly. The ease to open and close the curtains... His work is on point! Very professional very nice. He far exceeded my expectations.
I had a Really good cleaning day with Yvonne. To begin, I had her use my cleaning products. I also had her use my vacuum for the rugs. I also had her use my steam cleaner for the floors. The house looked and smelled really clean.
I scheduled moving services with Handy through the Handy app. The only information that the app offers, regarding moving help, is availability of service persons. My service people arrived (late and with an unprofessional demeanor and appearance) for the job without a truck. It was only at that time that I was advised that I will be responsible for having the truck available for the move. I was forced to cancel my service, with the only remedy (from Handy) being to reschedule when I have a truck available or credit 50% of the service to my account. There is no telephone number to reach a live person. Their customer service is non- existent and their site is limited in pertinent information.
My elderly mother tried to set up their services on the website. When she realized the appointment was for the wrong time, she looked for a phone number to call, but there is none. She then tried to change the appointment through their website, but instead of it allowing her to change the time, it sent her another email with the SAME time and day. She tried this twice and couldn't get it to work. She finally decided to cancel the service altogether and was told via email that she would be paying a $99 cancellation fee. This all happened with an HOUR! To top it off, they didn't inform the poor lady that was scheduled to clean and she just showed up at our door thinking she had a job! Outrageous behavior! I do not recommend using them at all.
I had a slow leak in my kitchen sink. It was a plumbing job and I assumed a plumber would come out to fix it. I discovered later that the plumber was a carpenter. He ended up causing a bigger leak in my pipe. I contacted Handy and all they would do is give me a $100 credit to use them again (why would I do that) and a $100 refund on my card even though I paid a lot more to fix the repair. I requested they repair the leak but they refuse. Now I am back to square one with even a bigger leak. DON'T USE THIS COMPANY. They rip off the public.
I have NEVER written a bad review, but could not refrain. This is as unprofessional as it gets. Beware of an agency offering personal service in your home that does not have a customer service #. I had my 1st cleaning appt scheduled for yesterday at 11am. I never heard from them about who was coming. I didn't want someone showing up at my door without prior notification by Handy telling me about them. I got a text at 10:00am cancelling! One hour before, YET, they penalize their clientele if we don't give them at least a day's notice. I called my credit card company immediately to be sure I would be credited.
My first sched they canceled last minute, didn't make a biggie out of it and 2nd sched (again@7) I've been up since 7am (as scheduled) waiting for someone to show up or at least call. Nope! I called the guy twice, when I finally talked to him he acted like he didn't even know anything about it. And he said oh yea yea ah okay I'll be there at 11. Show some respect for people. I worked til 1am. Slept for few hours. Hire responsible people and fix your automated text service.
This company started spamming my inbox a few weeks ago. They are impossible to contact by phone and their email customer service response was useless.
I requested them to remove me from their mailing list.
They claimed:
"We have unsubscribed that email address from our marketing list.
Please keep in mind that this means we have unsubscribed {your email}.
Additionally, even with this change you'll still receive transactional Handy emails, i. E. booking confirmations and refund notifications."
So basically they are not unsubscribing me and not only that, I am still receiving the goddamned emails.
I filed a complaint with the FTC for violation of the CAN-SPAM act of 2003.
If I'm ever in New York, I'm going to their office and I'm going to annoy everyone there.
Absolutely unacceptable business practice.
I was scheduled for my 1st cleaning that never showed and given a 10 dollar credit and rescheduled with someone else. That person then rescheduled. I decided that this service did not with me. I told them I wanted to cancel due to fact I've never recieved service. They told me that that would be 99 dollars. This company is a scam.
Ordered a shed from Wayfair, who partners w Handy. Kept sending ppl who didnt know how to assemble or asked for. Pic and said cant. 2x sent a single repairman, when told 2 person job and noted as such. (I paid $330 for assembly) Still not assembled after 6X, and 30 days. Lousy customer service both by Wayfair and Handy!
They charged 102 for 3 hour cleaning, pro did not shownup, they charged 50 penalty to pro, i got refund, i ended up cleaning my home on my own.
For all this they charge 99 per year membership fee
robbing.com suits them
Terrance is a very professional installer. His ability to access the item(s) to determine what would be the best action to take as far as which piece to work on first which is actually great time management. I would recommend him anytime
You sign up hoping to get a housekeeper and then no confirmation from them. You may not know you get someone up until1 hour of appointment but yet they charge you. Then when you try and hire a PRO, the price is almost 20-30 dollars higher. There is no way to contact them except through email. The app sucks, the workers send you messages and you cant read them. I was charged 99 for a cancellation fee when I didn't even use the service! I had to cancel my debit card so they wouldn't charge me! This is a total scam. If you need services, use Task Rabbit. They charge you AFTER the service is performed.
I wouldn't refer handy to my worst enemy. We removed our sink on August 9, and the new sink was to be installed on the 12... Lowes had the wrong sink so the guy took off and didn't come back. We rescheduled for August 17, Handy canceled via text. Scheduled for August 20 Confirmed via Telephone August 17. Cancelled by Handy and rescheduled for August 24. We have now been without sink, disposal or dishwasher for 2 weeks. After vehemently complaining to the New York number, more likely Bangelore, they miraculously found an opening on August 21. I'm waiting to see if that one gets canceled as well. If they treat everyone like this It's a shock they are still in business. Next time I'll save the $200 and make a deal with a plumber on Task Rabbit.
Lonnie S. Was an exceptionally polite, and knowledgable gentleman. He was very careful and precise with installing my TV. He did not mind my little dog either! Thanks Lonnie, your work is appreciated.
We purchased a garage door opener from Lowes and also paid for installation at Handy. First appointment was cancelled at the last minute. The second appointment was a no show. I did a chat with Handy and through a series of chats, the rep said we could reschedule for the 3rd time on Sept. 22 and August 31st. Mind you this is September so a little perplexed about scheduling on August 31st unless in 2023. Person even typed "will August 31st work". Then he typed so September for assembling a recliner? NO. Install a garage door opener... I rescheduled for September with absolutely no hope of anyone actually showing up. Horrible customer service
You have customers that want you to clean a three bedroom home with 3 bathrooms for $45 it will say 1 bedroom 1 bathrooms, sureprise! When u get there. Don't leave early from that house the customer will give u a complaint! Fees fees fees is another thing. Customers are rude even when u do a great job. From the customers who love u give great tips but you'll only find one in a bunch of 20. Use other apps they are out there. They will make sure you are respected as a pro. Handy has pros that are not even pros that make it bad for th rest of us. Housecleaning is hard work period. Handy needs to understand there are both customers and pros on there that should not be on the app!
My husband went to get a cleaning service and they did a bait and switch on him. Advertised a $39 cleaning for first time when signing up for a plan. They then told him he needed 3 1/2 hours for a one bedroom apartment and proceeded to charge him $180 for continuing service and $129 for the first one. I couldn't believe it and told him to cancel. They then told him there was a non refundable fee of 99 dollars! Do not use this service!
Handy will consistently cancel and rebook an appointment for service with no compensation to the person they are canceling last minute one. But when you cancel the service you no long need be they could never find anyone. You get charge a $15 cancellation fee that they refuse to refund.
I bought a deep cleaning service for my sister ahead of her bringing home a premie baby and they canceled on her 15 minutes before the scheduled service. They couldn't reschedule until late the next day (after baby would be coming home). The original service request indicated the necessity due to a premature baby multiple times. They offered a $10 credit in consolation, which is so ridiculous its laughable. My sister and her husband will now be awake all night finishing up cleaning (even though she should still be in bed) to bring their premie home. This is the worst service I have experienced. We relied on them to help us during a time when help was truly needed and they canceled on us 15 minutes before promised service. We will never use Handy again and I will absolutely tell everyone I know to never use their (not unique) services either.
Answer: They don't provide a refund, even when they fail to honor the agreement. In my case, they have twice (so far) canceled my house cleaning with one hour's notice. (If I fail to give 24 hours notice of cancellation, I have to pay a penalty. For them, no notice, no penalty.) They told me they were having trouble finding cleaners in my area. And if the no shows are a problem for me, I can pay the $99 cancellation fee. So how long does this go on? Three cancellations, five, ten? Forever? This is an irresponsible company with horrible customer service.
Answer: Im having problems getting paid. I told client to have cash on hand as I wont do the job. Good luck finding someone else with my skill set. Im supposed to do a job tomorrow that i have to buy stuff out of my own money and hold my breath for pay back. Ill stand on a corner begging for money before I do another job for them unless they pay me for past jobs and I talk to someone on the phone.
Answer: Again, these should not be appearing in the automatic feed for FAQ's? Who is doing QA around here?
Answer: Probably should not list someone's personal telephone number in the FAQ feed. What do you guys think?
Answer: Wayfair is also a scam. It's just a matter of time. They are a middle man to hundreds of businesses. They sell products regardless of whether or not the product is available or in inventory. Eventually people will catch on...
