They constantly kept sending me text messages saying that "someone didn't show up to work at the last minute" and that they needed to reschedule. Then I'd reschedule for a few days later and then on the same day of the appointment, they would send the same message that someone didn't show up to work and that the appointment needed to be rescheduled. I finally had to take the bicycle to a Bicycle Shop in order to have it put together. And I had to request a refund from Walmart.com where I purchased the Handy bike assembly when I bought the bicycle on line.
The Handy man Nick was expecting to build one cupboard and found 3 but Handy was really good about extending his time and Nick rang his next customer to arrange to go later. This was the first time I used Handy, liked their helpful customer-focused attitude, keeping me informed before the job and sending someone who really knew his job
DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY! If you pay them and the service person who comes doesn't repair anything, they don't refund your money. I paid $158 for two hours of service. After the service person left, I found that nothing had changed. He spent two hours and went through the motions but accomplished nothing. I contacted Handy.com and no one responded for a week. I then contacted Angie's List, through whom I had purchased the service. They referred me back to Handy and the next day I had a response. They asked me to send photos of the work that hadn't been done. Not easy. Eventually they told me that they had applied $79 to my Handy account for future use. I would never use them again so that is no kind of refund for work that was never done. You aren't able to speak with anyone and the service people on line are non responsive. They guarantee their work but only if you contract directly with them. BEWARE!
I was very impressed with William, he showed up on time, was very competent and professional and did an outstanding job. He was done in no time and the area where he was working immaculate. I am more than satisfied with Handy!
Tenants moved out and left stove pretty bad and the Handy worker did a great job making it look like new while cleaning the bathroom and other rooms in the flat also.

They book you cancel charge your card and lie and say they can't give you a refund because they have proof someone came out. They cancel on me twice charged me this time and lied. They also have criminals roaming your home

The word is spreading to criminal element circles that Handy will background check any name you tell them without any verification. All the thieves are now applying to Handy to gain access to your homes and steal your valuables.
The thief (Pseudonym 'Joshua Sanchez') they sent to my home has a long list of priors and criminal convictions.
Handy is under investigation and will be shut down.

I scheduled a cleaning with Handy today. My pro texted me at the appointment time and told me that she had driven to an address an hour away from me because my address was entered in the Handy App incorrectly. When I contacted Handy Customer Service, I was told that this was considered "a late cancelation" by me and that I would be charged the entire amount! It was not my mistake! I have had several other handy pro's come to the house with no problem. I have no idea how my address was changed in the handy app. I certainly didn't do it! So I paid $100 for service I did not receive because of a mistake THEY made!
I had a toilet installed which was good but the installers refused to take away the old toilet which I paid for as part of installation cost. When they were sent back to pickup the old toilet he refused to take the box.
Very impressed with our furniture assembler.
This service was truly a lifesaver. Our serviceman was efficient and on time and I was also very impressed as to how easy it was to book this service. Very professional, I would highly recommend using this company.
I purchased a projector through the Army Airforce Exchange (AAFES) and the installation was supposed to be provided this company. Handy sent me a email confirmation of the appointment time but no one ever showed and I keep emailing but getting no response. I called the Exchange and notified them of what took place they sent them a message and stated to give them until Monday and they will refund me. After reading all of these reviews this company should be shut down immediately! I also plan to file a complaint with the Attorney General of New York because this seems to be a common practice with them.
Edison V. was amazing. I wasn't able to be at the location where the assembly took place, but Edison kept me informed the entire time; even sent me pictures after the job was completed. Will definitely want Edison for future projects.
I had some old sliding closet doors replace that were damaged and we're not functioning as closet doors anymore. Melvin the handyman came in and took the tracks out took the old doors out and restored my closet doors to brand new closet doors and they look amazing I couldn't have asked for anything better and it was done in less than 2 hours and now my closet door they're brand new and they just look amazing, wonderful job very professional.
My wife and I called, offered the same specs and quoted vastly different numbers.
One person said that job would be $139 and offered a discount; one person said the job would be $297 and that no discount was available.
We were disconnected on the calls.
The sales reps are rude and incompetent.
Google Nest is partnered with this company which is why I used them in first place. Made an appt for AC check. They called day of and said the only appt they can find is next day after appt, then get an email stating appt is 5 days aways! What kind of crap is that? I could have found someone local quicker than waiting for them. I canceled appt but as usual I am out the money for them for 3 to 5 days while it is being refunded. NEVER NEVER use them!
Handy.com has no regard for customer feedback. All they care about is taking your money. Avoid at all costs! They will not get back to you. They will have no interest to get back to you. All they care about is that they can continue to bill you for $#*!ty service.
We contracted for 6 months. They missed the first visit, we called, they said we owed them for them not showing. We eventually worked that out and rescheduled with new person. Well over the next couple of months they failed to show 50% of the time and charged us $10 every time THEY DID NOT SHOW. This last time we canceled for breach of contract. They charged us $99 to cancel even though they have already violated the contract terms. RUN!

Bought through Ashley Furniture to do furniture assembly - they schedule over and over, don't show up and then charge your credit card.
Handy is the first service that I ever needed to assemble my chair and Kevin today, has done such a great job of that. I needed my chair assembled for ergonomic reasons, Gaming and streaming. I would recommend Handy because the Office Furniture Assembly service at Wayfair failed me.
Scheduled Handy Services through Wayfair to install a play set. For 3 weeks I received texts and emails telling me about their great service and they would be on time. On the morning of their installation they sent a text that they were on their way! 7 minutes after they were supposed to arrive, I received a text saying they cancelled our appointment and refunded our money. I called Wayfair and they said it was a two person job and one person from Handy backed out at last minute. I guess Handy only has a staff of two? Wayfair wouldn't do anything and I wrote to Handy and still waiting for a response! They are useless and really left us in a bind. Never again Handy or Wayfair!
Answer: They don't provide a refund, even when they fail to honor the agreement. In my case, they have twice (so far) canceled my house cleaning with one hour's notice. (If I fail to give 24 hours notice of cancellation, I have to pay a penalty. For them, no notice, no penalty.) They told me they were having trouble finding cleaners in my area. And if the no shows are a problem for me, I can pay the $99 cancellation fee. So how long does this go on? Three cancellations, five, ten? Forever? This is an irresponsible company with horrible customer service.
Answer: Im having problems getting paid. I told client to have cash on hand as I wont do the job. Good luck finding someone else with my skill set. Im supposed to do a job tomorrow that i have to buy stuff out of my own money and hold my breath for pay back.
