So disappointed with Handy cleaning service! Beware of them, they lure you in with their offers then say you have to pay £60 when you want to cancel! Regardless of what views or expectations or experience you had with them! I had a cleaner bring in her daughter to help without informing me to get my consent or anything! I tell them Im not happy and want to cancel but they still insist that I stay or pay £60! Like really! Lol BEWARE EVERYONE lol
I contracted Handy through Wayfair to install an entertainment console in my home. After 4 bookings with Handy the job was not completed. On one of those occasions they sent a group of teenagers that had no idea what they were doing - they ended up damaging my wall. I gave up and hired a group of real professionals that completed the job without issue. I then requested a refund from Handy. The refund request was 6 weeks ago and I still haven't received it. They said I would receive it within two to three weeks. I reached out two weeks ago and they told me to wait another week. I reached out last week and they told me to wait two more weeks. I don't normally leave bad reviews but please please do your research - this company is borderline fraudulent. Their "handymen" are poorly paid and uninformed - they told me as much when they actually did show for the jobs they couldn't finish. You get what you pay for. Save yourself the headache. Hire directly and locally with a true professional.
So my pro did not show up to the scheduled time. Handy was only willing to offer a $10 no show credit for the pro not showing up. However they have the nerve to charge $25 for late cancellation if within 24 hours. I definitely am NOT recommending 'Handy.com' to anyone due to customer service. I have reschedule for another pro so i will at least see if the pro side does the job. If not i will have to write another review on that. Right now 'Handy.com' will only credit me not refund me my the inconvenience fee as to why i am still using the service.
This is a total mess. I do not have an Account with this company. Requested service once and paid $159 for a $#*!ty job. I called in to complain about the bad service. The company charged me $99 cancellation fee after that and then in a few days sent another cleaners to my home with just one hour notice. Did not request a service and I don't have access to my account nor I can speak with someone to cancel the Service. Does this sound like a bad service? Absolutely scam. This really smells like a lawsuit to me.
Handy.com is a middleman. They do not have any employees. What they do is post your request online and hope that someone wants the job.
I was browsing their website but did not schedule anything so they called me. A live person to talk to me tell me how great and wonderful day were scheduled my first cleaning three days later, and said someone would be there at 1 PM. I download the app excited about my cleaning. I noticed on the app that no pro had excepted the job. This went on until the before my cleaning. I emailed them with concern and received an immediate response saying I need to wait until two hours prior. I continue to watch the app with no change and at two hours prior I received a email saying that the assigned pro had to cancel and was reassigned for the following day. That was not acceptable to me and I requested a refund. I received an email that I would receive a refund within a week. It's only been one day so I don't know if I'm going to receive a refund or not.
This handyman did a great job. He set up my bookcases-- I had 2 of them. He helped me place them in the room, and helped put my carpet down. He also helped me move my desk so that room was set up when he left. He also help get the big boxes out of the room. I tipped him because he was cheerful and helpful. We need more workers like him.
Once again I am thrilled with not only the prompt response to my request but the persons sent to my home. They complied fully with COVID restrictions. They were extremely helpful and completed the jobs perfectly. The guys were on time. They moved the furniture around that I needed without causing any damage to walls or furniture. Whenever I have a need, I always check with Handy first.
Charles is an excellent Professional at Handy. He cleaned everything very efficiently and left our home smelling good. He organized things and made my bedroom more spacious. The fridge is sparkling now and has a new, fresh odor. He did a fantastic job. Thanks Handy.
I started using Handy way back in August last year, all the guys I got from them are really good. So I've repeatedly used their service. I used to think their professionals are just regular handyman but I discovered that some of them are licensed electricians, part-time contractors and part-time teachers. So most of people I've used are experienced and knows what they are doing.
I currently signed up for a handyman thinking the pay was similar to the pay@ Amazon. Amazon takes 20% which allows me to pay my staff fairly. With the Handy service, Handy takes over 50% and leaves the handyman working for pennies. The customer pays what's required on the site but Handy takes majority of that. The reason why the service sucks is because your handymen aren't getting paid enough from Handy.
A different cleaner came to my house today and I sure was impressed. Her name is Tiya.A. She had called ahead to say she had run into some bad traffic, so I didn't have to wonder what was going on.
When she first got here, she asked for a tour. As we went through, room by room, Tiya asked what specifically I wanted her to do. Finally, someone cared about what I wanted and didn't just go by a list they had been given by the company.
And she did exactly what I had asked for and more!
Tiya was friendly, polite, and professional!
I hope that Tiya will be my house cleaner EVERY time!

Worst ever! I tired twice. The first time they left the trash can full of trash in the middle of my hallway between the bedrooms and completely missed cleaning one of the two bathrooms, never entered the room! The other bathroom had a dirty toilet when they left?
These people have no right doing business. I could not call to speak to a human, only email. Worst customer service ever, worst cleaning ever.
Then they tried to charge me a $99 "cancellation fee" (which they never got) expecting me to pay to cancel due to horrible service.
PLEASE Do not use these people.
I hired a company called BLT Cleaning and could not be happier since getting rid of HANDY forever.
Terrible company! On the day of my service date, they cancelled on me for no apparent reason and then "rescheduled" me for another date. The communication is terrible and there's not even a phone number to call them. Everything is done by email! Shady company!
Costed me alot of money with no work done lady dismissed herself once she saw my house to clean it not only that I haven't received my refund nd when u cancel bookings without canceling they charge u another 150 $ number 1 bull$#*! company cost me money for nothing
I've been a Handyman for over 20 years, and have pretty much done it all. Thought I'd give the 'Handy' app a try, but "Handy Technologies" rejected my contracting application based upon a 27 year old, vacated trespassing conviction. I make allot of honest dollars and really don't need Handy, but here's the kicker... their app STILL keeps sending me work even though their corp offices haven't accepted my application. So I reject the work on their app! There's doubt that I'd get paid! These people don't know whether they're coming or going! It's really scary because I haven't had a problem with the law in over 27 years. I'm not looking for trouble because Handy does NOT properly classify the contractors. So I've deleted their app and blocked all email from 'Handy.' Handy go away and let the States do their contracting locally without interference from some high-rise in "New Yawk" trying to scam-up techie money!
Super job by Nicole & her husband, Titus, installing six window drapes & hardware.
Arrived on time, worked efficiently and always asked me if measurements were to my preference.
Very pleased with the results and their professional demeanor in our home. They cleaned up all
Packaging trash for me to place in the garage. Will definitely call on them again when needed!
Sorry, I do not know how to upload photos :(
I hired Handy to clean my small condo. The cleaners did a terrible job. They arrived late, left early, did the bare minimum, and did not properly mop the floor, leaving visible mud and dirt in several places.
When I contacted customer service and sent pictures, the Handy customer service staff were beyond dismissive. It was clear they weren't actually reading the emails. That happiness guarantee is total BS.
Currently fighting with this company to get out of a 3-month contract without a penalty. (So far, they refuse. I don't even think they read that far in my email, to be honest.) There is no other way to contact them if you have a problem.
My suggestion: skip Handy and hire a local cleaner directly. The cleaner will keep more of the money, and you will avoid the giant rip-off that is Handy.
This is one of the worst companies out there. I contracted with them to install a mirror through Wayfare. They canceled 4 times, 30 minutes before each appointment. They did have a man show up once who refused to install the mirror saying he was only paid 20 bucks and would not put his name to it. Go elsewhere!
This app is a joke, the maid cancelled 30min before she was supposed to start, I had driven 2hrs in traffic to meet her, handy offered me $10, which is an insult, I asked to cancel my membership due to unreliability and now I'm being charged $99 cancellation fee? I would honestly recommend just calling a cleaning service, way less headache and no cancellation fees.
Handy worker Ansley E. a.k.a. Sarah E. was the ABSOLUTE worst. Extremely unprofessional. She did spot cleaning in various locations of the house. But here is where her personality really "shined"; she said I'm going to my car to get a vacuum. 20 mins later I walk downstairs to see my door open and her car GONE. She didn't have the decency to care about my security nor fulfilling her duties as a housekeeper. Thank God my toddler wasn't home. If you use this company please don't use Ansley E. aka Sarah E. I'm praying she wasn't setting my household up for any of her criminal associates or that we're not missing any of our items.
Answer: They don't provide a refund, even when they fail to honor the agreement. In my case, they have twice (so far) canceled my house cleaning with one hour's notice. (If I fail to give 24 hours notice of cancellation, I have to pay a penalty. For them, no notice, no penalty.) They told me they were having trouble finding cleaners in my area. And if the no shows are a problem for me, I can pay the $99 cancellation fee. So how long does this go on? Three cancellations, five, ten? Forever? This is an irresponsible company with horrible customer service.
Answer: Im having problems getting paid. I told client to have cash on hand as I wont do the job. Good luck finding someone else with my skill set. Im supposed to do a job tomorrow that i have to buy stuff out of my own money and hold my breath for pay back. Ill stand on a corner begging for money before I do another job for them unless they pay me for past jobs and I talk to someone on the phone.
Answer: Again, these should not be appearing in the automatic feed for FAQ's? Who is doing QA around here?
Answer: Probably should not list someone's personal telephone number in the FAQ feed. What do you guys think?
Answer: Wayfair is also a scam. It's just a matter of time. They are a middle man to hundreds of businesses. They sell products regardless of whether or not the product is available or in inventory. Eventually people will catch on...
