Mark came to our home to install a new toilet through Lowes. He was so friendly and professional. He knew exactly what he was doing and wasted no time getting the job done. I would recommend handy and Mark to anyone. Thanks for the great job Mark.
Joe, sent by Handy, was FIRST CLASS. I've awarded only four stars because Handy failed yet again to inform him of the exact nature of the job, i. E. how long it might take, by providing the construction details (which they could surely get from Wayfair).
[I have no idea how to attach a photo of the finished product and why would I bother to write review if I hadn't really bought it!]
I thought handy was great until I learned that only $80 of the $200+ I spent having a local person come clean my house for 4 hours went to the actual worker. These folks are 1099 so that aren't making close to anything after taxes and are not receiving any benefits. Here I thought I was helping an independent worker out just to find out that I was terribly wrong.
So here's my tip, use handy once or twice until you find the person you like. Cut a deal with them and take Handy out of the equation.
They sent a handyman to help us with assembly of a sandbox we ordered for my son. He had no idea what he was doing, did not bring any of his own tools, was at our house for THREE hours, and assembled it incorrectly. I paid $100 for our sandbox to get trashed. When I contacted the help team at Handy.com, they refused to give me a refund or take any steps to remedy their abysmal service.
Their only offered solution was to ensure I was not matched with this handyman again. As if I was going to continue to use Handy.com after this fiasco and their terrible response.
Unfortunately Wayfair uses them for assembly of products purchases. But do NOT use them. They just ripped us off. We paid for 2 assemblies for 2 items and they are trying to combine them into one assembly, thereby basically robbing us of money we've already paid. DISGUSTING! It is now my mission to let others be aware of how horrible they are to work with.
I'd give 0 stars if I could. Tried to book service twice. Both times no one showed. And today I have company coming to stay and too much to get done to clean the house. But guess I'm cleaning anyway since no one showed. Hugely disappointed.
Ivan was on time getting to our house. He's very friendly and professional and did an amazing job. So glad there's a company helping people do things that some don't have the time and patience to do it. :) it's a little pricey but it's worth it
This has been one of the worst experiences I have ever had with a vendor and I gave it every opportunity to turn around. In the past year I have had two cancellations last minute, one no-show, two substandard cleanings, and several professionals show up late. I kept thinking it will get better and it never did. The straw that broke the camel's back was when I opened my credit card statement to see a $15 charge for no service once again. This is the second time that I was charged this mystery amount. I never received a response when I wrote about it the first time. I guess it was lost in the shuffle while you were refunding me for a service that never took place in February.
I am a patient man and I understand occasional problems arise, but this is a pattern of incompetence. I have tenants and this performance reflects poorly on my business.
Do yourself a favor and never use this service! Don't waste your money or time! I needed a swing set assembled by Handy. I made the install appointment almost two months in advance. Handy is making the company Wayfair look bad. They only showed up once, 2 hours late and never finished the job on my original appointment date. I got 4 texts and emails that they were showing up and NEVER showed! They said the people were having emergencies and couldn't finish. Customer service is a joke! They ended up cancelling the whole appointment after 6 postponements within a week. Very unreliable people. If I could give this service zero or negative stars, I would. My experience was awful! I would add a photo, but there is just a pile of wood in the backyard. I would never use or recommend this service to ANYONE!
It was a bad service, I cancelled after a few attempts to make it work. They confirmed in email that I cancelled, then 2 days later they took $280 off my credit card and still sent someone to my house. I had to deny them and have been dealing with clearly outsourced email support that is telling me that since they sent someone, I won't be refunded. This is a terrible service that everyone should run away from. Go find a an individual worker and leave this garbage attempt at a software as a service to fail. I'm contacting the BBB and dealing with cc dispute. This is the worst service I've ever experienced. Don't use.
Do not use this service it's a crap shoot. You won't know who's coming, or their experience but you have to pay first! Good luck trying to get your money back for unsatisfied services as well! Some guy and this lady showed up smelling like urine and under the influence to clean my home! After an hour of the 5 paid for and scheduled, I kicked them out, tried to get any money back but they only offered me the chance to rebook another "pro". I asked for a call from someone but they only do things via email. It's ridiculous. DO NOT USE HANDY.com! STAY AWAY! They DO NOT vet their pros at all!
The app is incredibly buggy. Sometimes I don't get notifications for pros and miss important messages. It often shows that I can schedule a pro for a job only to find out they don't have availability. I cannot prioritize extra services like laundry. The pros often don't see that I'm paying for extra services and are shocked when they find out.
The pros also make up their own rules. I scheduled 1 person for 4 hours (so they could do laundry) and they came with another person and claimed it was 2 people for 2 hours. I've had pros cancel on me 20 mins before they were supposed to show up.
And finally the cost, it's pricy sure, but the worst part is that they'll continue to charge you after the initial contract has ended without telling you. Have fun trying to get that reverted!
If there was a "0" I would have used it. We were contacted by Handy thru Angie's List to do our fall yard cleanup. There is no # to contact them - only email or leaving a call back #. Very poor communication. Our 1st "pro" didn't show up and after several email messages then finally a call from them, they tried to line us up with another - one person with a rake! We needed a crew and to have our leaves taken away. They don't provide that service. We finally canceled the order. Fortunately, the weather is cooperating and we're doing the job ourselves. We are both elderly and infirm. We needed to have this job done for us and they really let us down. Never again!
We needed our 55" TV mounted on the wall with the cords hidden in the wall. We received this referral from a flyer in Walmart to have it done for $79.00. When contacting them by e-mail (no phone number provided), they indicated that it would be $141.00 to hide the wires. This sounded reasonable. It took the kid who came out 2-1/2 hours to mount the TV on the wall. He did not hide the wires in the wall but, Handy charged us $141.00. Once they have your card number, they will rip you off. We asked for reimbursement for the services we did not receive, they refused.
Unprofessionalism; no commitment to customer service or consideration for the customer's time; and the customer, Er is compensated with a credit on future purchases! While the current issue remains unresolved. Buyer beware.
You cant get a job fixed when their workers screw it up. They expect you to pay to get someone else to fix what the previous contractor screwed up. I also told one contractor who was late not to show. He came anyway and begged me to let him do the job it was very awkward.
Handy.com claims over 50% of the total fee and charges a service fee. I feel as if the contractor should receive at 60% or greater on the fee rather than the handy platform. It doesn't seem fair to me that the individual performing the service doesn't get at least 50% of the total charges.
Very professional service, great communication throughout the whole process (scheduling time, ensuring time would work, sending reminders of date and time, and technician calling when in route).
The person was on site on time, was very professional, made quick work of the removal and installation of a new dishwasher, tested everything was working properly and that there were no leaks, provided helpful information, and cleaned out everything.
We will use them aging, excellent company to work with.
Booked a cleaning with handy 3 weeks in advance. Left work and sat at home for 40 minutes. The only way you can contact them is to BUY their app which i did so i could figure out why they didn't show up. First they said they were running late, then suddenly said they needed to cancel. SCAM. DO NOT EVER USE!
Be very careful as this seems to be mostly a scam operation. First, there is NO contact/customer service phone number so once they have taken your money and don't give you service you are unable to speak with any representative. If you think I am wrong, try looking for one and then try emailing them to tell them you would like to speak over the phone with a representative---ten emails later I was STILL unable to get one. They will email you back and forth and continue to be vague so as to not address your question OR provide you service while charging your credit card in advance for services not provided. Once you finally realized you have been scammed out of your money, they will charge you a cancellation fee for services you did not receive. Stay far away unless you are willing to just throw away your money.
Answer: They don't provide a refund, even when they fail to honor the agreement. In my case, they have twice (so far) canceled my house cleaning with one hour's notice. (If I fail to give 24 hours notice of cancellation, I have to pay a penalty. For them, no notice, no penalty.) They told me they were having trouble finding cleaners in my area. And if the no shows are a problem for me, I can pay the $99 cancellation fee. So how long does this go on? Three cancellations, five, ten? Forever? This is an irresponsible company with horrible customer service.
Answer: Im having problems getting paid. I told client to have cash on hand as I wont do the job. Good luck finding someone else with my skill set. Im supposed to do a job tomorrow that i have to buy stuff out of my own money and hold my breath for pay back. Ill stand on a corner begging for money before I do another job for them unless they pay me for past jobs and I talk to someone on the phone.
Answer: Again, these should not be appearing in the automatic feed for FAQ's? Who is doing QA around here?
Answer: Probably should not list someone's personal telephone number in the FAQ feed. What do you guys think?
Answer: Wayfair is also a scam. It's just a matter of time. They are a middle man to hundreds of businesses. They sell products regardless of whether or not the product is available or in inventory. Eventually people will catch on...
