Ordered dining chairs from Wayfair and as they were flat pack needed them to be put together as being elderly not able to do this ourselves. Appointment was made with Handy who arranged the appointment for the day after goods were delivered. Nipa arrived at exactly the time arranged. He was smartly dressed, very polite and courteous. No problem with the social distancing with job was completed efficiently and fairly quickly. Would recommend and will use Handy again if needed.
Hello,
I rarely write reviews but I feel compelled to let you all know what a great experience I had using Handy.com and its associate Johncarlos Quiles. Johncarlos installed two ceiling fans for me (one of which was very complicated) and he was outstanding. He was knowledgeable, professional and very courteous! I was able to schedule the service quickly and it was cost efficient as well.
Ask for Johncarlos when you need any handy work in your home or business!
We had to change the original date & time allocated for the assembly of some furniture, which was easy to do with a quick call to the installer. Christopher arrived on time & assembled the crib really quickly, he was great.
Tried their three month membership. First professional didn't show up without any communication. Second professional didn't do a great job ( at first it looked like it but then discovered things that weren't cleaned). Third one cancelled on morning of. Cancelled my membership and they took their $99 cancellation fee! Even though their service is horrible. Avoid this service.
After all I went through trying to get help, I now believe the entire thing is a scam. I committed to a 6-month cleaning program and never had one. Not. One. Cleaning. I canceled the program and paid the $99 early termination fee which sucked since this was NOT my fault but felt better than committing to six months of hassles with no-shows, zero customer service, and bogus charges. If I were to cancel on someone 27 minutes before an appointment, I would be charged but the same practices are not extended by this company. I even found one of the CEOs on another system and wrote in desperation for some help and nothing! Please don't get scammed!
Very terrible service, and even worse customer care (or lack of that).
They take no responsibility for their service providers lateness, unprofessionalism, rude behaviour
Rather they have charged me 50% of the fee and have refunded the remaining in their credits - as if I am going to use their service ever again.
I cannot imagine how for a basic job like house cleaning a professional can be late, not prepared, not have any idea what they are doing.
To top it all, the company doesn't take any responsibility for their lack of providing far from satisfactory - rather service not done.
Im grateful for Handy. They have quality handymen. They are polite, respectful, quick and very knowledgeable. I have had bedroom sets, an end tables, cabinet and desk assembled. Very pleased with my experience.
I bought a shower door from Wayfair and booked someone from handy.com to install it... The appointment confirmation states that it could take up to 2 hours for their services... Well 4 hours later the installation was completed... 1 st- The handyman did not have the proper drill tools, so he had to go to home depot... Then he started installing the ONE door that I had purchased from Wayfair...
Now, I am being informed by handy.com that I am responsible for the 2 extra hours that the handyman took... WHY?
I believe that this is a set-up... They say less hours so you can get their services and then when they are at your place they stretch the time so they can charge more... I was never told about this in advance by Wayfair nor handy...
For the future customer that plans on using handy services, be aware that they WILL charge you for extra hours that the handy man takes...
Used Handy for assembling a large TV Stand/Cabinet and would definitely use them again. Tech adjusted the doors that weren't fitting correctly because of the manufacture provided hinges and pre-drilled holes, and put felt feet on the legs to prevent scratching of the wood floor.
Bruce from handy.com is very meticulous. I ordered the TV mount service and is extremely satisfactory. I would recommend Bruce for any handy job. The way he do his job is flawless, quick and precise, a true professional.
I purchased an item through Wayfair and was supposed to have Handy put the item together. Handy has scheduled two appointments for me and they both have been no-shows. I'm trying to reschedule the appointment for the third try, and the operator said that they refused to schedule it for the next day because they could not guarantee that someone would take the job and show up. I thought that was really funny because the first two appointments were scheduled 48 hours in advance and the person still didn't show up. Very frustrating. Wayfair should not be partnering with a company that cannot be counted on. And I have paid for the service already, to Wayfair. Very upsetting.
Unbelievable. I paid for a 2 hours service. The guy came, spent less than 45 minutes. The job wasn't done. The sinks were clogged for the worst. I texted him and never heard from him. I contacted customer service, they said they will credited $35, the added more money on top of that to have another pro to come over to do the same service. Really.? PEOPLE DON'T WASTE YOUR MONEY. HANDY IS TRASH. Picture is below. They are terrible. Stealing people trust, time and money. Damn, no other options, otherwise ZERO rate would be best. They call their worker PRO?
The HVAC went out. Nest sent me a link to Handy to have someone come check it out. I clicked. I scheduled an appointment (which was four days away with no AC in 90+ weather). The appointment was confirmed. I sat in a hot house waiting for help. The day before the booking, I got a text message saying the "pro" rescheduled me for two weeks later.
Like, yeah, okay. I'm dying in this heat but I can white knuckle it for two more weeks. I cancelled. But Handy wouldn't let me tell them why I cancelled. So I'm telling you.
I pre paid handy for a front and rear door install. The pro showed up, damaged the door within 2 minutes. Then said the job was too big and left. I took off the day from my job to facilitate the handy work. Handy won't address the charge (no work was done), nor the damage. They won't respond to me in any way. I can't urge you strongly enough to never use them for anything. Do yourself a favor and use a different company. I am going to have to go to the credit card company for my Refund it appears and it's very obvious they will do nothing about the damage nor my wasted time and effort, wait etc.
Handy lies to its pros. Steals money from pros and over charges clients. So far $375.00 has been taken from me by Handy. I work and pay my gas to get to jobsites just so they can steal it from me. And do no client contact except through email which not all clients respond. They dont pay the proper rates for some of these under described jobs and expect pros to finish without getting paid for thier time.
I have used Handy and has not experienced a person than really knows how to clean a house, they do ok jobs and are very nice people, but the customer service socks, when you have an issue nobody talks to you personally to find out what the issue is about. All they want you to do is give feedback.
Toni called me when she finished her previous job to see if she could come early, which was fine with me! She showed up about 30 minutes early, and was completed prior to her original start time! I was thrilled with the final product, which was a kitchen cart. She's more than welcome to come back to my home at any time that I need Handy again! I'd highly recommend not only Handy, but Toni herself! Both are 0a 10 in my book! Thank you so very much Toni for doing such a wonderful job on my cart, and doing so, so quickly. Thank you Wayfair for having such a well equipped young woman. Your list of Handy personal is growing so much better than when I first tried Handy. Toni was a delight to have in my home, even cleaning the floor from any trash. She rates a solid 10 in my book and she deserves to be requested in the Maryland area. Again, thank you so very much Toni!
Stephen was such a gentleman, we were so impressed with his knowledge and honesty. He came to put up a light fixture and ended up installing 2 others as the original one was not ready to install. We are thrilled with his service and thankful that Handy handled everything.
This is the 2nd time within a week that someone from handy.com is a no-show to mount my TV. I spoke with customer service within chat app. She told me"Sorry our pros didn't show up." I said "Pros? There is nothing professional about your service workers."
Ruben V. from Handy assembled our platform bed and two nightstands. He arrived on time, was fast and did a perfect job with all three items. He cleaned up, was efficient and had a great attitude. We give him the highest praise.
Answer: They don't provide a refund, even when they fail to honor the agreement. In my case, they have twice (so far) canceled my house cleaning with one hour's notice. (If I fail to give 24 hours notice of cancellation, I have to pay a penalty. For them, no notice, no penalty.) They told me they were having trouble finding cleaners in my area. And if the no shows are a problem for me, I can pay the $99 cancellation fee. So how long does this go on? Three cancellations, five, ten? Forever? This is an irresponsible company with horrible customer service.
Answer: Im having problems getting paid. I told client to have cash on hand as I wont do the job. Good luck finding someone else with my skill set. Im supposed to do a job tomorrow that i have to buy stuff out of my own money and hold my breath for pay back. Ill stand on a corner begging for money before I do another job for them unless they pay me for past jobs and I talk to someone on the phone.
Answer: Again, these should not be appearing in the automatic feed for FAQ's? Who is doing QA around here?
Answer: Probably should not list someone's personal telephone number in the FAQ feed. What do you guys think?
Answer: Wayfair is also a scam. It's just a matter of time. They are a middle man to hundreds of businesses. They sell products regardless of whether or not the product is available or in inventory. Eventually people will catch on...
