This company is the worst. My job requires two people and they keep trying to send one. I have emailed and emailed and emailed and asked for a human to call me and nope. CS stinks and you are better off staying away from them if you want quality work.
I did only one cleaning for Handy for 5 hours and got paid 71.50 with a 15 dollars tip. Right after that cleaning they said someone request me on a Sunday. I gave them a 5 day notice and said I wasn't available nor they I want to work for a company that charge over 200 for a cleaning and you provide everything including your transportation and only made 71.50. To make a long story short they took 50 from my previous cleaning for not going to do the cleaning I never claim and gave them a 5 day notice that I wasn't available. Please don't work for this company. I will write this review every chance I get because this is low down to treat people this way when you trying to make a living and get your rent paid. This company is awful. My television was mounted in my newly remodeled home & it fell. Handy company wants me to pay for a new appointment instead of them covering the damages to my wall & television. Don't ever use this company! I used Geek Squad 12 yrs ago & all of the tv's they mounted are still mounted properly.
I have made 3 different bookings for 3 different services: house cleaning, moving service and furniture assembly. The house cleaner came late and left early and barely did anything (I'm really not sure what she did besides mop the floor); the movers canceled twice and rescheduled twice I canceled that booking since they couldn't seem to show up. Carlos came to do furniture assembly for me. This was my only positive experience with Handy. He assembled a Hall Tree, kitchen utility cart and 5 dining chairs and did a great job.
Booked the Handy service and was given an appointment over a week away. On the day of the appointment, the person did not show up, they said he was in a car accident. Rescheduled with another person but he was not available until three day later. He showed up 15 minutes late and did complete the job but I had to help him as the job required two people to move the equipment. These workers are all independent contractors so your mileage may vary.
Ordered a plumber via Handy for a tap replacement who kept on bringing the wrong parts yet demanded payment in cash! I told him that I preferred to pay via Handy. Handy dealt with the situation appropriately by refunding me all the money spent hiring their crook plumber. The next day I hired a plumber from my local area which I googled and he replaced the tap with ZERO issue.
My experience with Handy was fantastic! Marvin cleaned my new apartment I'm moving into, and it was a game changer! The entire process was so easy and seamless, completely stress free. Would highly recommend, and if you're in the NYC area, Marvin is amazing!
I have been a contractor with handy for little over 2 months I've asked for supervisors to call me or message me or email me I can never get anything from them. For instance when I showed up for a job on time completed the task worked for over 4 hours and handy won't pay me my 4 hours all the agents say is customer canceled due to weather well the customer canceled after I did the job and completed it through the app and then they still took it away they've done this to me three times
Used Handy.com for assembly of gazebo. The two professionals that was sent on Saturday worked tirelessly to complete job. They arrived on time and was very respectful of my property as well as me. I would definitely use those two professionals again should I require any assembly.
Handy is awesome! I had a handyman, cody, come in to build 2 bedside tables and a dresser. He was so kind and worked very efficiently. My furniture looks so beautiful, and was build very well. They made everything SO EASY for me. Cannot be more grateful!
Handy.com sent a supposed "professional" to fix my leaky faucet. This guy was not a licensed plumber, spent hours watching YouTube tutorials, and ultimately damaged my pipes and cause $4500 in water damage within my walls and ceiling. Handy.com swore to pay damage expenses if I paid upfront repair costs. Over a month later and I've yet to see a penny. Got the BBB involved and they're still holding out. Beware!
Sorry to write a long story! I had this company install two ceiling fans or try to install. It was offered through lowes! The first one was ok had a hard time communicating. Cause he spoke no English. He had it wired wrong the lites did not turn on! He told me maybe the bulbs. Which were new. Had to re wire it! Than on the second one they sent a guy that did not gave transportation to my house. Pull out the whole box and ruined sheet rock and now I have to pay to get it fixed…. Buyer beware never use this company ever!
Dante arrived early and got right to work. He has a great personality and checked in with us along the way to make sure he was meeting our expectations. He finished quickly but completely and left the space clean when he left. Would definitely highly recommend him.
I signed up with Handy.com Cleaning Services in May for an every 2 weeks cleaning and was truly disappointed. 5 times since May the cleaners never showed or called. Handy was quick to reschedule but they also did not show. Now that I have found the service not working for me they want to charge $99 for canceling the service contract early. I will fight the charge, but I would stay away from them if you need reoccurring services. They may be ok of a onetime cleaning. Signed John P of Myrtle Beach SC.
We have had great experiences with the professionals at Handy. Scheduling is easy and they have always been professional. We would recommend to anyone who needs some help around their homes. We enjoy trying to book the same professional from month to month and have developed a relationship with Marvin. Thanks for all your work!
I am a senior living on a fixed income. I found Ashley very friendly and engaging, but after she left there were a few things I noticed that either were not done, or were not done well. But this review is about Handy.com. I am not at all pleased with how difficult it is to find a telephone number to call in order to voice concerns about the professional who was sent over to complete the tasks required. I realize that this was a 'discount price' that was offered for a limited time, but should not the quality of service be the same as if it were full price?
Finally, after over 15 years of different cleaning people I did not spend more than a couple minutes putting my house back to normal. Nitzeria told me she takes a picture of the room: how brilliant and so easy. This was her first time at my home and I want Handy to send her every time; excellent cleaning and very nice personality.
My husband and I bought a storage shed kit. When it arrived we realized assembly was way more than we could handle. I used my Handy app and requested someone to assemble the shed. Kennyson did a great job! He is a hard worker and was very determined to get the shed built even though the instructions were difficult to understand so he studied the manual and used the product YouTube video to explain the process. After much persistence and hard work he completed the project! Looks great! Thank you Kennyson!
They charge hidden fees and there is absolutely no competent person to communicate with at the company. All correspondence via email. You can not talk to anyone at any time. Will report to BBB and Attorney General. Stay away!
I use the cleaning services on the Handy App and have had great experiences! It's just like Lyft but for home services! All the pros (SPs) are verified and you can rate them if something goes unwell. Handy also has Happiness Guarantee just in case something goes even more worse. They provide great services and the app is easy to use! :)
Answer: They don't provide a refund, even when they fail to honor the agreement. In my case, they have twice (so far) canceled my house cleaning with one hour's notice. (If I fail to give 24 hours notice of cancellation, I have to pay a penalty. For them, no notice, no penalty.) They told me they were having trouble finding cleaners in my area. And if the no shows are a problem for me, I can pay the $99 cancellation fee. So how long does this go on? Three cancellations, five, ten? Forever? This is an irresponsible company with horrible customer service.
Answer: Im having problems getting paid. I told client to have cash on hand as I wont do the job. Good luck finding someone else with my skill set. Im supposed to do a job tomorrow that i have to buy stuff out of my own money and hold my breath for pay back. Ill stand on a corner begging for money before I do another job for them unless they pay me for past jobs and I talk to someone on the phone.
