Literally a new of the worst service companies I've ever dealt with.
Ok did to have a two pro job to put together a large bed in our upstairs master. They sent one person, a gentleman named James who was excellent, however the headboard weighed 230lbs and there was no way he could get it up stairs by himself. When wayfair the vendor who set up the service contacted Handy they lied abjectly and said it was scheduled for a 1 pro job, when the weather invoice clearly states 2pro and even their own employee acknowledged it was supposed to be a 2 pro and that is what we paid for.
I will warn everyone I can to avoid this company at all costs.
You agree with the extra cost because you think that you're going to get Dependable service but you won't they schedule someone on the day you ask the person doesn't show up they schedule somebody anytime they want you have no control over the scheduling of your housekeeper they charge you the $99 if you want to refund even though their people did not show up twice so you agreed time there's no phone number there's nobody to talk to this is a really bad deal.
They rescheduled my appointment twice, and when a guy finally did show up he called the wrong number and left. The help line offered no support and said all they could do was book me for a week later but wouldn't change the number on file to the correct one.
Terrible company would never use again, be careful booking them through wayfair.
Handy promises to be in contact with you within minutes if you have an urgent matter. I have requested a call back back 12 different times through emails and they finally call back to be unhelpful. They are passive and do not address the issue. It is so difficult to get questions answered and they are very vague with their follow through. I went in with the idea that this is a great service only to find out it's a bunch of crap. I spent hours trying to get my first booking completed with the questions I had that were never answered. Also, you get the number for you pro member, but my guy had a disconnected number then they wanted to charge me $15 for cancelling the job. Do not waste your time with this company. They are horrible.
Beware - this outfit offer an introductory offer then traps you in to a series of bookings with the price going up to ridiculous levels. They certainly don't pass on the fees or charges to the person diligently performing the job. I regret engaging this deceptive operation and plan to cancel it as soon as I cancel the payment details they have on file.
Since December of 2021 I have been trying to get my house cleaned. We pre-paid for 2 cleanings. All appointments were cancelled last minute by the cleaner or just no shows. We asked for a refund but Handy only credit us. So we tried booking and appointment again. No show. I chatted with customer service and demanded a refund. What good is a credit if nobody ever shows up? NEVER use this company. EVER.
Avoid Handy like the plague! Would give 0 if I could - really dodgy, shoddy company. As other people mention, they charge a fee to end your account that you're not aware of at the start, and even when I wanted to use the service to make a booking, it wasn't possible to do so due to technical issues. So I am paying 60 pounds to clean my house myself. I will be looking to see which forums I can use to lay a complaint against them to get my money back and ensure this doesn't happen to others.
Skylar and Daquan did an outstanding job putting together a large piece of furniture for me. They were so friendly yet very professional and left no mess behind when they were finished. I've only used Handy a few times and all experiences have been positive so I will definitely use them again!
Handy was able to provide a service professional (Mark) with as little as 24 hours notice to set up my treadmill. Mark was knowledgeable in his work and did an outstanding job in getting my treadmill operational. Handy/Mark exceeded all my expectations.
Actually booked Handy through WalMart.com even though I didn't purchase the furniture there. Bought an office suite from NBF and needed assembly after delivered. I did some searching on the Internet and came across assembly services on Walmart, actually offered by Handy.com. The tech was on time, pleasant, professional, and got everything assembled perfectly. He took great care with our newly-painted walls and new floors, and even asked if we'd prefer he remove his shoes in the house (we didn't). I highly recommend Handy.com and Nick- very satisfied customers!.
By framing its business model as "empowering Pros to select work," while falsely guaranteeing service, Handy is able to inflict undue fees and pass below-market rates on to these independent contractors, disincentivizing the jobs being accepted and fulfilled. Real "Pros" would not settle for these rates. Which means the consumer (a) never receives service, or (b) receives service from a drastically subpar Pro. There is no upside to using Handy - even the illusion of convenience. It will run itself out of business soon enough.
What a joke. Signed up for house cleaning every other week. Had one visit, which was amazing. Then the following two visits were canceled because their people called out. I asked them to cancel my subscription due to not receiving services and they charged me $100 for canceling. Horrible company and business practices. The $100 is the best I ever spent to get away from this horrible company. Now off to review them on every single platform that exists. STAY AWAY FROM THEM.
Was my first time to use this young lady, but i can't began to tell you how pleased I am with her, she took her time and cleaned my home as though it were her very own, Can I really say more are give a better compliment? She is a real asset to your company, and I would like to continue with her if possible.
I paid $400 for them to assemble an armoire (through Wayfair). One guy showed up, one guy did not. They said they could only send someone else out two days later. So I have a half finished armoire and no refund or discount. Total rip off.
I tried using Handy via Wayfair for installation of a piece of furniture. It was scheduled 3 different times. On each scheduling, the technician did not show up and did not call to advise that he was canceling. By the third time when Handy indicated that they would reschedule me again (after their 48 hour wait period), I refused the offer. The lack of professionalism and customer service is appalling. I cannot comment on how their service professionals are because I never had any bother to arrive!
I needed a crib assembled so I am like lets see whats out there? I signed up fro handyman - they charged me the fee (I thought I had someone booked). Nope, no one booked... I then cancelled and they charged me 15 dollars twice. I see how they make there money; look at review for working for them... horrible. I wish I did my due diligence... shame on me...
I can't even begin to explain all the different problems I've had with this company. From "pros" not showing up (which I realize isn't entirely their fault) to talking to at least eight customer service reps who continuously lie to me about me getting my $40 referral fee that has never gotten credited still after three months, to being hung up on after a 20 minute long wait cause the customer service rep didn't want to help me. I could go on and on. I tried to cancel but that is near impossible (and expensive) as well. It's still booking me for appts even after my contract is up and I still can't cancel without paying a fee. Steer clear - this is the worry company I have ever dealt with.
Booking ID *******
As if the cancelling the day before Thanksgiving eve wasn't bad enough, the online chat agent would not help make the situation right. She said I had to wait 48 hours - which would have been Thanksgiving day. I was waiting for a bed set up so I didn't have a bed to sleep in that evening.
I asked for my issue to be escalated and she said she could not. I also asked her to try to find a replacement person and she said that was against protocol. It baffle me that someone would chose protocol over a helping a customer who already paid and did nothing to cause the situation.
BEWARE - this company is not customer focused at all!.
Ive been doing handy jobs for these people and have not received a payment. The app does not let me put payment info in for processing and there is no phone number to call... a bunch of random tex from apps with no one on the other end. They have a mailing address is all. Im supposed to do a job today that requires me spending money on materials... good one. I told the client via tex ill only do the job for cash. I would not recommend working for them. There is no support, jobs are under bid and it appears thay could care less if your compensated for your work. Why are home owners using them? Im convinced ive been scammed.
Worst experience experience ever. After having cleaning service fiascos, where Pro just left without cleaning anything, I complained and have got only $20 credit, I payed a tip to cleaner more than that. Being so upset with my experience I called to cancel the subscription, still hand to pay the high cancellation fee and delete the app. And even 2 years after I see $199 charges on my credit card, seriously? What cand of scam is this?
Answer: They don't provide a refund, even when they fail to honor the agreement. In my case, they have twice (so far) canceled my house cleaning with one hour's notice. (If I fail to give 24 hours notice of cancellation, I have to pay a penalty. For them, no notice, no penalty.) They told me they were having trouble finding cleaners in my area. And if the no shows are a problem for me, I can pay the $99 cancellation fee. So how long does this go on? Three cancellations, five, ten? Forever? This is an irresponsible company with horrible customer service.
Answer: Im having problems getting paid. I told client to have cash on hand as I wont do the job. Good luck finding someone else with my skill set. Im supposed to do a job tomorrow that i have to buy stuff out of my own money and hold my breath for pay back. Ill stand on a corner begging for money before I do another job for them unless they pay me for past jobs and I talk to someone on the phone.
Answer: Again, these should not be appearing in the automatic feed for FAQ's? Who is doing QA around here?
Answer: Probably should not list someone's personal telephone number in the FAQ feed. What do you guys think?
Answer: Wayfair is also a scam. It's just a matter of time. They are a middle man to hundreds of businesses. They sell products regardless of whether or not the product is available or in inventory. Eventually people will catch on...
