We paid this company a considerable amount of money on the promise that would secure a rate reduction for us. After they came in to do a review, we heard very little from them. We constantly chased them and were fobbed off each time. Months later, we finally have a decision and it's no surprise that we have been told we will not get a rate reduction. These guys are a sham of a company and their only interest is to take your money. Do not use.
If we could give less than one star we would.
This company is out there to rob you.
Their agents come out and say there are no upfront fees, and then once you get the paperwork they want paying upfront.
If you don't pay they send the bailiffs straight away.
These are the worst kinds of people to deal with, and I sincerely wish they go bust with the diabolical bullish behaviour they use.
Hampton Lovatt are the worst kind of scammers.
They tell lies to get your interested and verbally state what the contract is they are offering but the follow up letter in writing is completely different.
Crafty, devious and deliberately misleading.

All seemed above board to start with but the conclusion to the transaction has left a bitter taste. They achieved a rate reduction with the valuation office but it would have been more if they had sent over information asked from me, which didn't arrive at the valuation office. As far as I was concerned this was still a work in progress and negligence on the part of Hampton Lovett. Another challenge was required which could take another 5 months to resolve. They raised another invoice that I was expecting to pay at the end of events and said if I didn; t pay they wouldn't do any further work on my case. I then had virtually daily phone calls to my mobile over a 3 week period chasing payment and then threating legal letters if I didn't pay. This is where we are now.My Company has paid out over £2000 to Hampton Lovett inc this latest invoice and as yet haven't received a penny back in rebate from the Council and don't know when I will. Their aggressive attitude in debt collection particularly when the work hasn't been completed to my satisfaction leaves alot to be desired.
It has taken a long time, drawn out becasue of coronavirus, but the team at HL have delivered a considerable saving for me and I pleased with the outcome.

We have dealt with Hampton-Lovett many times. They have been extremely professional throughout. They proceeded to re-assess the rateable value of our business premises. This was successfully achieved, as they promised, and resulted in saving us a lot of money.
The team at Hampton Lovett were professional and courteous throughout the process of obtaining our substantial rebate. We will save in excess of 10,000 pounds over the next 5 years recouping the initial investment within a year. Can recommend.
Customer service was a bit hit and miss at times - seemed to be an issue with staff absence and sickness. However, I was paying for a chat line, and they did get a big discount in the rates on my veterinary practice.
This has made a big difference to us as a business, and I am happy with what Hampton Lovett have done.
It does seem as though there is a lot of hate out there for this company, but I have to say that my experience is not the same as others on here.
As I said earlier, I did have a grumble about the customer service - and a man called up and apologised immediately and made assurances I would be contacted with answers within 24 hours. This was done.
In itself that is good customer service.

I had some good chats with a chap called Dean, and another one called Alan and they were always helpful and polite.
Don't know how they done it but I dont have to pay rates now. And I got back everything I had paid since 2 years! That's a lot of sausages, I can tell you!
I was initially skeptic although about using Hampton Lovett - I saw reviews having settled their invoice and was determined to get my money back. However, I was assured that there would be no issues with achieving a reduction in my rates.
After a considerable amount of time - and I will admit to having been frustrated - I am now delighted with the outcome and the business is £2,500 better of per month.
It's clear that they did an excellent job, and reading between the lines I think that the majority of the issues that I experienced were not of their making.

We have recently worked with Hampton Lovett Consultant Surveyors Ltd in reducing our business rates. Thanks to their expertise they were successful in reducing the rateable value of our premises for the current and also previous years, saving us a sizeable amount.
Keep writing us to tell us that a business is eligible to claim for business rates overpayments, and they know this because of their 'review of our building'. The business they refer to in the letter has been closed for over a year and the building has been eligible for a 100% rates reduction forever. I am leaving this review because, if they have written to you in this way, I would be very careful about progressing with them. It is clearly a blanket letter send to any business they can find, having done no research whatsoever before sending it. And their address on the letter is Regus Office space in Covent Garden. I have just emailed them for a second time asking them to remove us from their database.
Was asked to get our business rates reviewed by my director, and found Hampton Lovett through one of their emails (yes, they are persistent and annoying). Anyway, had a visit from one of their guys and he talked me through the process and what to expect.
It did all seem a bit too good to be true, and I was apprehensive about the fee - not nearly as much as my boss was, though.
Anyways, it all came good and the savings that they stated did come true (well, they were a bit less but that's ok because we have saved - thousands).

I originally left a review based on my experience with this company and then removed it after a conversation with a manager (Giving the company a second chance to prove themselves due to Covid). Read this review and contact me directly if you want to know the truth about my experience. Possibly the worst customer service I've ever received, un-answered phone calls, emails and constant staff turnover with new members of staff taking over your case. They will take your initial set up fee and then do very little, this was my experience. I've managed to get my rates down due to another company using the same site, however Hampton Lovett believes this substantiates their claim for lowering the rates. Laughable, they have then attempted to charge me (As though their expertise has got the reduction). Be vary cautious with this company, this is a GENUINE review from a customer that has had nothing but problems.
Same as the rest. Lies regarding how strong a case we had, how we'd make a huge saving. Pressurised into signing and parting with a load of cash. The bad feedback is starting to pile up, and can't be hidden by all the surprisingly similar '5 star reviews'. They'll crash and burn soon, just like the linked *, and come back under a new name to rip off the next lot of mugs.

I was contacted by Hampton Lovett earlier this year advising me they believed my business rates were to high, i was skeptical at first as ive heard negative press about certain rating agencys, however i need not have worried, i was kept informed often about where my appeal was and what was happening, and in the space of a short time i was delighted to receive notification from the valuation office that my business rates were being reduced significantly, i cannot thank them enough for there help and id advise anyone to contact them to see what they can do for you.
The communication has been clear and concise throughout and, Sarah and Louisa have been very helpful in answering all questions, being flexible and understanding our business needs.

Hampton Lovett contacted me yesterday and advised that the valuation of my property had been reduced - and this was confirmed by and email from the VAO 20 minutes later. I've checked the reduction and the savings made, and I am delighted that I have saved a considerable amount of money by using their service.

It did take a while to get the appeal complete, but he has explained the process and I can see why. I am surprised by the bad reviews on here - especially when other review sites are generally positive.
