I ordered a bike rack in May for $134.46 & never received it. During CO-Vid 19 I caled cust svr several times & during this pandemic you couldn't leave a message. As of today 7/21/20 I haven't received anything but 6 times they keep trying to take my money. My bank won't let it ho through because i told them "No Product, No customer Svr. I've been scammed " in june my bank told me hammach tried 3xs for the $134.46. I woke up and 3:45am they tried again. (7th time) If they are in NY then why are they keep trying to take my $$ in the early mornings. "Seems like a China business too me". Now I'm about to close this account after reading all of the reviews. At what point do a business stop trying to take your money?. Thank You PNC bank for protecting my account..
The first Christmas tree I ordered was supposed to come in two days. Four days later, it hadn't arrived, so I called. The answer? "Oh, that's out of stock." I selected another tree. It came in two days--with the wrong color lights. On the next call, I was promised the correct tree would be there two days later. At the four day mark, no tree. I called again and was told, "it won't be delivered until Monday (four days later).
I specifically spoke with the rep that this tree should be again sent with second-day shipping at no cost to me and that was confirmed. This order should not have been a problem, yet here we are! In frustration, I told them to cancel the order and refund my money.
Initiating the refund wasn't a problem. What was a problem, is when I asked when the refund would appear on my statement. I was told "three weeks." When I said that was unacceptable, the response was, "that's policy."
My promise to the rep was to never do business with this company again and to give them bad reviews and comments whenever the company's name came up.

Ordered a pricey item online in September. Received email a couple of weeks later saying item backordered and they would ship when available. Finally called again when I saw the item was still being offered in the December catalog. Customer service said my card was declined, so mthey canceled the order. I asked if they tried to charge the card a second time. Answered NO. I asked if they had a record of notifying me of this problem. Answered NO. My card was never declined, because Citicard ALWAYS notifies you when a charge is declined. I got no communication from Citicard. So Hammacher did not contact me, did not try a second time, and simply killed my order. I asked for a supervisor, but of course "no one was available", so they said one would call me back. Of course no one ever called me back. Three days ago I received an email from them saying my card was declined so they canceled my order. DO NOT DO BUSINESS WITH THIS COMPANY. THEY'RE A BAD JOKE.
I ordered this lighted tree on Nov 8th with no indication of delayed delivery. It took a while to finally find out how to look up the status of my order and I was surprised to see it would not ship until Dec 2nd, then I looked again and it will ship December 4th, then today I looked and it will ship December 5th. Because I am moving on December 11th, I called to get the order expedited on shipment. To my horror it won't even possibly ship until December 17th and there was no guarantee of that. They could not assure me I would have it in time for Christmas. I NEVER received an email stating a delay in shipment. When I asked to speak to a supervisor, I was told she would subtract 2.00 off the price. What, you just ruined my special needs sons Christmas decorations and you offer me $2.00? I passed up several options from local stores because we are moving on the 11th and this would be the only Christmas decoration I would put up this year. Finally when I insisted that I would remain on hold until I spoke to a supervisor, I expressed my disbelief and dissatisfaction with a company that boasts 173 years in business. This is a very poor practice and I would check the delivery dates by calling before you place an order. You can not trust ordering online. The site now states shipping December 17th, but that was never indicated in an email to me. I will never order and will refuse any catalog from this company in the future.
Placed order Aug 11,2022 canceled part of order, due to length of time received order 9/21/22. I cancelled part of order had paid by check. Its now Dec,2022 no refund check.
I purchased a Christmas tree from Hammacher Schlemmer and received a defective product. One section of lights did not work. I sent it back and requested an exchange. What they did was refund the cost of the tree minus the shipping ($50). I called was told the tree was not longer available and shipping is non-refundable. That is BS, they send be a defective product, they can't replace it and don't even reach out plus make me pay for the original shipping. I will never purchase anything from the again.

I ordered 3 very expensive lounge chairs from this company 7 days ago. When I placed my order, their site said that the items would ship within 24 hours. 7 days later, their site says by chairs HAVE NOT SHIPPED.
I called their Customer service phone number and listed to their recording for over 30 minutes, waiting for a Customer Service Rep to answer... but all of a sudden I was sent to a voicemail that said "Leave a message and we will call you back within 24 hours" I left a message and called their number again. NO ANSWER AFTER 72 minutes listening to their recording. Then I found the corporate office phone number, called it and pressed "0" for the receptionist... and NO ANSWER. I called back many times and could not get any of their suggested departments to answer. All this happened on a Tuesday starting at 2:30pm and I did not stop trying to reach them until 4; 30pm. I will never order from this company again. Why are they in business if they cannot answer their phone. They should shut down their catalog.
I bought this wreath in November of 2020 because it had battery powered lights. It was on sale from $99.99 to $76.00. As I was making the purchase with the customer service agent on the phone, he said that the one that I wanted was sold out so I purchased another. Less than a month later it malfunctioned and I wasn't able to turn the lights off. I called Hammacher Schlemmer to exchange it and the service representative he told me to wait until the next season to exchange it and then I could request the one that I didn't get. I called the company in July, 2021 and the girl with whom I spoke with said that I would I would have to pay an additional $36.00 to receive my replacement wreath. I told her that price reduction or increase could not be employed because Hammacher Schlemmer's lifetime guarantee. I did not receive the wreath that I was promised but received a different one. I am appalled by this company's demeanor which was far from the lifetime guarantee and I shall make a purchase again.
There was a great deal of confusion regarding a purchase I made. After several days and multiple correspondences they did the right thing. Thank you!

Hammacher Schlemmer used to be reliable and offer good quality, which made it worth the extra cost, but they have gone downhill in the past couple of years. In July, I ordered a heated eye mask, totaling $125 (had to pay for shipping and tax on top of the $100 basic cost). After 2 weeks it stopped working, it did not heat up. This was the same complaint I had seen in reviews for cheaper online sellers, where the same heated eye masks were selling for $25. I (naively) assumed that since Hammacher's eye masks cost 4 times as much, they were 4 times as good. Not true! I also assumed that since Hammacher prided themselves on "customer service" the return process would be easy. Also not true! Most reputable companies will begin shipping a replacement product as soon as the customer reports a product defect— not Hammacher! First I had to ship back the defective eye mask, and only after they received it did they initiate the order for my replacement mask. All in all, I was without this mask for 3 weeks. This was especially problematic because the heated eye mask is actually a medical device to treat a dry eye condition, so I had to go without treatment despite my calls and pleading with customer service to expedite my replacement. It would be bad enough if my story ended here, but it doesn't. The replacement heated eye mask has some sort of defect— the material is very stiff and it scratches my nose. None of the other heated eye masks that I have used had this problem, so I'm sure something is
Wrong with it. I will be returning this one as well (and Hammacher will not refund my shipping costs), and meanwhile buying a cheaper one from another vendor. I am totally disgusted with Hammacher Schlemmer. Do not believe their ads, and don't bother with their overpriced goods and supposed "customer service" because they are no better than any other vendor, and worse than many! I would give them zero stars if I had that option.

We purchased the 24" Outdoor Lighted Atomic Clock. We had previously purchased the same clock without the light option, and after one an a half years, the fascia came apart, and we called for a replacement, and they denied it since it was more than a year.(I thought they had a lifetime guarantee).
Now we ordered, and received the lighted clock which wound up costing us $182.00. The problem with this clock is, that even though it is lit (Dimly, yet) One Cannot read the time, since the dials are not lit. When we called to complain, we were given a credit for the shipping. This clock is NOT recommended.

Would NEVER order from this company again. I ordered a gift for my husband on their website. Two week AFTER I placed the order, I received an email notifying me that the order would take 3-4 weeks and apologizing that it was not stated on their website and I was not made aware of the timeframe at the time of purchase. I made the stupid decision to move forward with my purchase and wait the additional two weeks. After 3 weeks, I both emailed and called to get a status update. I sent 2 emails that went unanswered, and had to call 4 times -- each phone call I was told something different because their customer service representatives seem to have no idea what's going on. After another 6 weeks with still no shipping number, and no communication from HS on further delays, I demanded to speak to a manager. I was told by that manager that my item would be guaranteed within 7 days and that my shipping costs (I paid for expedited shipping, which is hilarious in hindsight) would be refunded. It has now been a month since that "guaranteed in a week" phone call, and my order still hasn't even been fulfilled and customer service has no information for me. I have received ZERO communication from this company explaining or apologizing for further delays and I'm told that because "it could ship at any moment" and they'd be unable to ensure the item wasn't sent before my cancellation is processed, I am unable to cancel my order. Customer service has no idea what to do, and the managers will say anything to get you off the phone without further complaints. To make matters worse, my credit card company has had to call me various times to question and verify pending charges because every single Monday, HS submits a pending charge for the amount of my item to "ensure I have the money", so they are taking up available funds on my credit card without providing me what I ordered. Laughable, they offered a 20% off coupon on my next order to make up for my frustration... as if I would ever purchase from these people again. Buyer beware.
