Home fit battery's

Had a battery with a 5 year guarantee fitted on the drive. When it failed after2 years I tried to get them to honour the guarantee. They said I had to take it to a store. I was not able to get there as car would not start. After the person I contacted said they could nothing to help he said anything else I can help with today! What a laugh

Pre booked and pre paid for a service and MOT. It was cancelled at the last moment (told it was cancelled when I took the car in). They couldn't get it done at another local Halfords so I had to get it done elsewhere.
I got it booked in for the next day at a local garage.
Don't use Halfords if you want a reliable service

Worst bike company ever
September 12, 2016

Please stay well clear of this lot. Bought a road bike 4 months ago online, noticed that the front chainset was flexing when putting pressure, pedalling very hard in top gear causing chain to rub on front deraullier, very annoying. Took bike to local halfords store leamington spa. Was told yes it was a problem following day was told by another mechanic nothing wrong with bike. Phoned halfords and was told to get a independent report and they would look at it. Wow this in general has to be the worst. Just stay well clear all you will get isutter grief with this lot.the bike hopefully be selling a. S.a. P. was given a replacement but guess what this one was even worse to date i have had to spend £150 on it. Eventually got fed up of it and sold it. This company is the absolute worse. Halfords you suck. Worst company in u. K probably. Please do not go any where near thease people they have caused me nothing but grief. They have taken my love of cycling and totally ruined it.

AVOID. Waste of time

They booked me in for a chip repair on weds 25/1 guy never turned up. Had to ring to ask where he was, he didnt come out because hes not trained. Rebooked for sat 28/1, same guy didnt turn up again as not trained. I had to ring a total 5 times to get my refund because they wanted me to rebook and waste a 3rd day waiting for a no show

Under no circumstances buy car secuity equipment from these people. Purchased a security system for my BMW and not only did it not function properly, but it interferred with the electrical systems. After a long battle they finally agreed to take the equipment back after refusing to remove it due to not having either fitters or the experience to remove it. They then offerend me compensation which they later retracted owing to not fitting/removing the device, even though they have no fitters and they one store that did was not capable of removing it after telling me they could and me booking a day off work. All this aside trying to get through to customer services is almost impossible and you will be met with a whole new level of incompetance. Then should you be lucky enough (for want of a better word) to get a claim handler they will ignore you, lie to you and then reject anything they offer you. I would have given 0 Stars were it an option. I advise you check Social Media, TikTok and Google to see a corollary of these type of complaints. It is no wonder the store is going under.

Disgusting Service Avoid at all costs - My car vehicle was damaged, had my aftershave stolen from my drivers side door, also clips broken on the battery cover, screws and bolts on the oil tray were not even tightened up and to top it all off three days later my service light came back on -- STAY AWAY FROM THESE COWBOYS...!

Gimps wiv spanners

I webt to buy a Vespa battery. They didn't have one, but looked on their sydtem and price- matched a substitute. I bought it, went home, fitted it, only for the scoiter to catch fire whilst U was on it, 20 miles from home. The battery was too short, reasulting in the + terminal shorting out, leaving the loom alight and/or glowing. Fuming. They're not admitting liabilty, so 1500 repair bill, lost earnings and public transport every day. Plain irresponsible and dangerous.

Shocking

I have booked and obviously paid for a cam BlackVue installation in Ashbourne using the online service on 4th of June for a specific slot on a certain day or 13th of June

On 7th of June, I've received an email with an update that everything is ready and I am " good to go " on my chosen date …fair play

On 10th of June Saturday late afternoon, another mail was received stating that my booking was changed and moved to Derby on 15th or 2 days after …?

Yep, they did not even bother to call or politely ask me if the rescheduled appointment is good enough and I am available in that day, presume now their thoughts are everyone works 8-5 with 1h break and everyone is obliged to go and do whatever they instantly decide to do so …total nonsense! I guess near the time I was going to receive another email changing the date again to December 15th for instance ( say Fort Williams) and that's how the life goes on with them….

And that unfortunately was not the end as I rang " Customer Service Halfords " and yet again receive one of the most vague, ridiculous and unprofessional excuses ( lies) such as "online service should not been available, there was error in the system etc.", absolute lack of transparency and customers respect and loyalty

Hold on….I have got it now, you're too, too big, arrogant and possibly ignorant for my pity £600 so you could easily wave it on go without them? No problem, solution found and problem solved!

One thing, how on the earth do you still manage to operate, how?

UNRELIABLE Halfords left me, a disabled adult, with no usable car for a full weekend when they cancelled a pre-booked (and pre confirmed) appointment just minutes before I arrived at their fitting centre in Farnborough late on a Friday afternoon.
The prior arrangement was booked, paid for and confirmed in advance. Halfords had sent email and text confirmations (see below) that the bulbs were in stock and that the fitters were able to fit at the scheduled time.
They then cancelled just before I arrived.
When I explained that I had chosen Halfords over other options and that it was too late to go anywhere else. I was simply told they could do nothing and to call customer services and to make a complaint if i so wished. I did and never heard back from them them.

In April 2021 Halfords had a promotion whereby if you made a purchase in the store you would get a voucher for a free MOT which was valid until November 2021. I made my purchase and asked for the voucher, I was told it would be emailed to me. It never arrived, Over the next month or so I phoned the number on the receipt several times and was assured that they would pass my details to the store manager who would call me by the end of the day. They did not phone, ever. I also visited the store where I made the purchase (twice), again despite promises nothing happened. This went on for months, not once did they contact me. I finally demanded details of their complaints department an sent an email. They sent an arrogant, bordering on rude reply saying that the offer had expired in June 2021 and they would not be sending me a voucher. I sent them written proof that the promotion stated that the offer was valid until November 2021. They are now ignoring my emails and refusing to honour the offer. Their customer service is appalling and they deserve to be shamed for their action (or lack thereof).

Really Halfords?!

Give the below images a look:

So I wanted a dashcam fitting, so I contacted Halfords to see if they would fit it even if I didn't buy it from them. They said they would (Proof in images). So I went ahead and got a Nextbase 222 Front AND Rear from Amazon for £100 (Over £70 cheaper than Halfords).

So they basically lead me on and made me pay £100 just to then say then will no longer fit it (As per second image)

I doubt they'll even rely to this review and if they do, it'll be something daft like they'll 'look into it'

Come on now Halfords... I asked for compensation or for them to fit it and they ended live chat twice on me and wont admin why haha

After one month waiting list, I finally drop on 17 May 2021 my bike for repair, and I specified only the back wheel needs to be fixed as it was veiled. 2 days later, I went to pick it up (call received - ready for collection) but they did the wrong repairs (not the back wheel) and wanted to charge me extra. After discussion with the manager, I left my bike once again at the store. 2 days later, received a call that the bike was ready for collection. However, at the store, the back wheel still was not repaired. On 17 June 2021, without any update I call the store, but they were unable to confirm/locate where my bike was. Decided to go directly at the store, the bike was in the storage room, back wheel still not repaired. They gave me another bill to fix the back wheel and confirmed that it will be ready for collection on 19 June 2021. However, I did not receive any call since
I literally do not know what to do…! An absolute disaster… not professional and bull$#*!ter. I do not recommend sending any bike or even less your car at Halford for checking or repair.

Missed dangerous fault.

Halfords Warrington did a service and not on my car and never removed the wheels. They therefore missed a serious fault with the suspension. I made a complaint and no one contacted me numerouse emails latter still no contact eventually I had to contact the CEO via email. Eventually and only after further chasing I got a response. They completely dismissed my concerns and believed their mechanics over me. The offered me a slight discount in the repair that would have been covered by a warranty if they had spotted the fault. The cost of repair is not the issue I will just cover that. The real issue is that Halfords just dismiss my complaint and had to be chased several times to even respond to me. These people are carrying out work on people's cars and clearly missing serious faults. I am positive the fault was evident at the time of MOT.
I certainly will not be using Halfords for any work on any of my cars ever again. The only reason I used them was because the main dealer was booked up and I needed a service by a company that would not invalidate my warranty. However, despite what Halfords claim your Mazda warranty will be invalid by using Halfords. You have been warned.

I took my bike to be repaired on a Monday I was told that they did not have the parts and they would have to order the parts but my bike would be ready by the Wednesday and someone will phone me.
By Friday no phone call and no one answered the phone when I tried to phone the store.
When I went to the store the manager told me that my bike was not ready.
I informed the manager that I was told that the bike will be ready on Wednesday he then told me that they meant that they would check the bike on Wednesday and order the parts needed or repair the bike.
When I told the manager that one of his members of staff had already told me that they did not have the parts needed and they would have to order them the manager looked at me as I was stupid.
The manager then told me that it might not be repaired until the following week.
It took the store manager to get my bike ready for the Saturday.
I use my bike once before I had to take the bike back to be repaired again.
I used the bike again for a week before it had to be taken back to be repaired.
As before no phone call when it was supposed to be repaired, no one answered the phone until after I phoned a few times.
When I turned up more excuses for why they did not phone.

Bought a carrera vengeance, which was ready on time, but by the time I wheeled it to the end of the parking lot I realised the wheels were badly buckled. But I hadn't even sat on the seat... I took it back and after about half an hour they decided I could bring it in next week to have the wheel re-trued. From new? By the time next week had come along it had gotten worse and I was worried about the axle and bearings. They had to order a new bike. The guy that built the original bike was very disgruntled, although I cant see how they can send out a bike with wheels like that in the first place as it's clearly visible. Within a few miles of rising the new bike the rear wheel, came off... injuring my foot. After several hours of the staff disagreeing with the fact that it happened, I eventually got a refund and am now off to somewhere reliable to get a bike. I thought the carrera vengeance was supposed to be a good bike... which may be the case. But the technicians at halfords cambridge are not safe to be building bikes! I'm not the only person similar things have happened to... please be careful with halfords and make sure you check the safety yourself!

Halfords offer a online discount for orders, the voicher is £5 for online orders you have made. UNFORTUNATELY the price to purchase items using your DISCOUNT voucher is 30% more than the store price.! Why? Battery charger in store reduced from £30 to £20 pounnds

Bought my 9 year old grandson a bMX nitro circus bike it lasted 4 months before the wheel became wobbly took it back to Halfords Sutton in Ashfield who said a bmx bike shouldn't be used for jumps tricks or Ramps! And so we had voided our warranty even though the frame was distorted which should be covered! I had previously researched this bike which you can buy a ramp for in the same name! After speaking to customer services for Halfords and screen shotting their messages they stated the bike was 100% perfect for ramps and tricks and that the frame should be covered under warranty. After several weeks of going round in circles with customer service advisors who never get back to you I'm still no further forward with a £200 bike that's worth nothing more than scrap. Have elevated the complaint but still no joy. Disgusting service and bad information on products if I'd have known a BMX wasn't any good for ramps etc (like the advice given) I wouldn't have wasted my money I'm expecting a full refund in due course as this product isn't fit for purpose and customer care by Halfords is some of the worst I've experienced! Still no refund or replacement and no reply despite several attempts to contact via email snd customer service advisors

Hi everyone, just to give you heads up. NEVER ORDER FROM HALFORD'S ONLINE! Because they have the worst customer service I have ever come across. I ordered a scooter £38 online I never received it because the delivery driver delivered to the wrong address which you can see on the map. I called them up numerous of time and told them what happened they put me through the enquiry team who told me to wait 48h for an answer but NO ANSWER. I had to call and email them again and told me the same thing to wait 48h and this happened many time during 3 weeks but still NO ANSWER and today I called them 5 times and I got cut off 5 times I managed to get 3 of the customer service ladies names who are Pumza, Sandra, and Surprise who told me to wait and eventually cut me off. This is unacceptable from a well recognised company to have such a poor customer service. I haven't received my scooter and I've been ROBBED from HALFORD. NEVER ORDER FROM HALFORD ONLINE OTHERWISE YOU'RE GOING TO BE SPEAKING TO SOMEONE FROM THE OTHER SIDE OF THE WORLD WHO DOESNT HAVE A CLUE WHAT YOU'RE TALKING ABOUT AND YOU'LL END UP LOSING YOUR MONEY.

DO NOT GET MOTOR CLUB!

DO NOT JOIN HALFORDS MOTORING CLUB!

IT IS UNCANCELLABLE! It auto renews and charges monthly / annually and only allow you a small window of a matter of weeks to cancel your subscription for the whole year!

When I challenged the call centre agent the first thing they said was "it was stated in the TnCs which you had to tick to say you've agreed to" various court rulings on this type of sneaky term enforcement, look up some case law: inconsistent terms and conditions - wherever TnCs are non standard (I.e giving ridiculous windows to cancel annual subscriptions) courts will rule any non standard conditions DO NOT APPLY!
INFURIATES me when companies try to manipulate customers like this. They are fully aware a huge majority will want to cancel so make it unnecessarily difficult in the hope you'll forget and they'll bill you forever.

Wasted 45 minutes of my life trying to cancel and it's still active.

Go elsewhere people, I had an eye opening experience on my most recent visit to auto centre - charging dealer prices but giving gypsy garage service.

Absolute swindlers!
